Buster is his name ! 14 weeks old. This pup is a work horse. Loves training. Working on sitting until sent for it already. Instincts this pup has is unreal. This is our Daughter Kalie with chief. If you’re on the fence about how a lab will do with kids or younger adults let me tell you chief is the second service dog that Kalie has had that was a lab. between Annie, her first lab that was a black and chief, which was a chocolate both these dogs loved, watched out, and protected Kalie. Annie, her black lab knew when she was having seizures or was sick and would be there doing what she was trained to do. Chief had big shoes to fill following in Annie’s footsteps, but he was learning and was stepping to the plate so if you’re thinking would a lab be the perfect match take it from a mother, they are the most loyal, loving smart dogs you could get they understand when you’re sick hurt or need help and they are so trainable to any health issues as service and emotional support dogs. They are awesome for hunting it’s in their blood.
If you want a confident hard charging retriever you have to challenge them. Let them solve problems from a young age. Have you ever heard the saying “ can’t never could”? By doing this, it creates character,confidence and the belief there is always a way. Never give up.
Good Instincts can only come from great genes. Bloodlines matter for sure. These pups are going to be fun to train and watch!

This is play time but it builds in them to do it fast. You see the results. They will charge through anything to get there and back. Hey… don’t forget to love them up when they do!!
It is said that confidence comes from a feeling of well-being, acceptance of yourself and a belief in your own ability. And that if we’re lacking in confidence some of the ways that we restore it are to implement planning and preparation along with gaining knowledge and training.
So how do we relate that to dogs? Very much like us, a dog’s ability to act confidently often comes from their own belief that they will know how to act in a given situation – or in their ability to adapt to a multitude of different situations.
To build this confidence we need to practice, a lot. But not just anything, we need to practice each component then build on it until the dog is doing the behavior second nature.
