Friends! There has been an arrest in our break in downtown - and he’s connected to EIGHT other incidents.
While this is encouraging news, we understand it is just the beginning of the process.

Do you know what’s in your dog food?

A 2021 study started testing for mercury in pet foods. And along the way, they also analyzed the DNA in a few samples. One food listed beef, wild boar, goat, and lamb; but the sample contained chicken, turkey, and fish – no beef, boar, goat or lamb.

Another sample claimed only tuna and salmon, but contained chicken, sheep, and turkey. A food proclaiming “no soy” contained – you guessed it! – soy. A food listing field peas and chickpeas contained neither. But it did contain flax, oats, and rice.

But a bigger shock is when DNA testing was done on Just 6 Lamb Meal and Brown Rice, a dog food under the Rachael Ray Nutrish label ... and dog DNA was one of the ingredients! It was 1 of 13 additional ingredients found in the food via DNA, but not listed on the package.

AAFCO has no regulations about what rendered contents contain , and there's no way to tell what's in processed pet food ... so it could be Fifi or Fido.

Nine‑year‑old Cairo Hall turned his dog adoption into a truly special occasion. He arrived at PAWS Shelter of Central Texas wearing his fanciest suit to adopt Waylon, a sweet pit bull mix who had waited an astonishing 95 days for a new home.

Cairo said he dressed up because adopting a dog was no ordinary moment. It was a milestone worth honouring. Waylon, after weeks in limbo, finally found a loving home and a lifelong friend in Cairo.

This story reminds us that every pet adoption is a big deal. It’s about compassion, celebration and giving animals the respect they deserve.
