We’re seeing an emergence in Parvovirus in our community and we want to help. 🐶💜

Canine Parvovirus (CPV):

What it is:

A highly contagious and potentially fatal viral disease affecting dogs, especially puppies.

Transmission:

Spread through direct contact with infected dogs, their f***s, or contaminated environments.

Symptoms:

◦Severe vomiting and diarrhea (often bloody).

◦Lethargy and weakness.

◦Loss of appetite and weight loss.

◦Dehydration

Treatment:

◦ No cure, but intensive veterinary care can improve survival chances. Includes intravenous fluids, anti-vomiting medication, antibiotics, and supportive care.

Recommendations:

-Parvo Vaccine: (CVP-2)

-Do a single antigen vaccine; not a combo one for multiple conditions

-Timing: should be done after 16 weeks and not before 12 weeks

-They only need one parvo vaccination; titer test after the initial vaccine to determine level of immunity

-Nosodes: these can be used in lieu of vaccines

-Give pumpkin seeds for natural dewormers to prevent parasites

-A species appropriate diet-raw or gently cooked

-No traditional flea/tick/heartworm medications

-Avoid kennels and doggy day care for puppies; they are not conducive to good health.

THIS is why you should NEVER feed Fresh Pet to your pups! Several canned pet foods are laden with this garbage - It’s also In nearly every dairy brand we buy (I personally asked Shamrock WHY and they teferred me to HR!).

It is PACKED with carrageenan - a terrible, known carcinogen. It’s terrible, Its harmful, and its Inclusion Is Insidious.

It’s official! We’ve moved and are settling in to our new, larger space!!🐶🐱🐔💜

We’re now located at 422 North Florence Street , two doors north of the historic Paramount Theatre. Our hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 11-4:30, Wednesday, 11-5:30, and Saturday 10-3 (in addition to our weekly participation at Uptown Farm & Artisan Market).

We specialize in all-natural, organic foods, treats, and supplements for dogs, cats, and now chickens!
