I’m so excited to officially announce Alex has joined the Cowgirl Central Co. Crew as my Grooming Assistant!✨ He has successfully completed his training & will be accepting clients starting next week!🥳 Read below to learn a bit more about our newest team member!🩷
“My name is Alexander. I am a true Arizonan and like my home state, horses have been the most consistent thing in my life. I always knew I would be involved in horses and owning some of my own. I attended Scottsdale Community College in their Equine program part time and was working at a boarding facility while maintaining full time retail jobs. At the ranch I would turnout, exercise, and preform first aid. That was until I made a career change into the beauty industry. While being a colorist and specializing my blondes kept the momentum towards achieving my goal of owning my dream horse, I kept working at the boarding facility to keep my addiction to equines alive. Acquiring my Arabian through a hardship case, I found my heart horse and my passion for Arabians. Misk, my Egyptian Arabian, was able to keep my hair dressing passion alive with her long mane and tail as I once again made a career change into veterinary. Working at Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center as a receptionist drove me to want to stay involved with horses and some how bring all my loves and passions into one world. That’s when I found Cowgirl Central Co. and found I could bring my hairdressing and beauty industry background to my biggest passion, which was horses. Having knowledge on hair helps me understand horse hair type and identify what each horse needs. I love making people happy and the fastest way to do that is to make their horse feel pampered and happy. While looking great! Did I mention I love to braid! “

Dirty/wet horse = surcharge or refusal to clip.

Please make sure your horse is as clean as possible for clipping, and they must be bone dry!

If you want a show quality clip, they you should present a show clean horse 🐴 🛁 🦄

‘I just bathed him last week!’

Did ye, aye? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I always ask my clients to bath their horse the day before clipping (this is to allow for adequate drying time).
Most of my clients are booked in around 2-4 weeks in advance, so that’s plenty of time to organise bathing your horse!

But really, why should your horse be as clean as possible for clipping? 🤨

• To prevent dirt, grease, mud, grit etc blunting blades super quickly, causing them to snag and pull on your horse’s hair.

• To look after the clipper motors - dirty hair and blunt blade will put excess strain on the motor, which will cause damage, and an expensive repair bill.

• To make is as comfortable an experience as possible for the horse - hair snagging HURTS.

• To get the smoothest, most flawless, perfect clip possible.
Dirt = lines and patches.
Clippers are perfectionists, it upsets us to leave you with a sub-standard clip.

• To avoid a ‘dirty horse’ surcharge from your professional clipper, or a repair bill for damaged equipment.

We hate clipping the horse like this, we hate what it does to our equipment, we hate charging more money.
