The Fourth of July can be a stressful time for dogs due to the loud noises from fireworks, large gatherings, and unfamiliar activities. Here are some safety tips to keep your dog safe and comfortable:

Before the Fireworks
1. Identification: Ensure your dog is wearing a collar with an ID tag that includes your contact information. Microchipping is also recommended in case your dog gets lost.
2. Exercise: Provide plenty of exercise earlier in the day to help reduce anxiety and tire your dog out.
3. Secure Environment: Create a safe, comfortable space for your dog indoors where they feel secure. This could be a crate or a room they are familiar with.
4. Update Information: Make sure your dog's microchip information is up-to-date.
5. Acclimate to Sounds: Gradually expose your dog to firework sounds in the weeks leading up to the Fourth of July to help desensitize them.

During the fireworks
1. Background Noise: Turn on the TV, radio, or play calming music to help drown out the sound of fireworks.
2. Comfort Items: Provide favorite toys, blankets, or an item of your clothing to comfort your dog.
3. Stay Calm: Your dog can pick up on your emotions. Stay calm and act normally to help reassure them.

**Job Summary:**
Valley County Pet Resort is seeking a couple dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendants to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the health and happiness of the pets in our care. If you love working with animals and have a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you! Great summer job for teens!

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for all boarding pets.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of the pets and report any concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of each pet’s care and activities.
- Offer excellent customer service to pet owners during drop-off and pick-up.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
