Even dogs can have fun at The Paard Yard! Merlin, the Great Dane, is bigger than 3 of our resident minis! He is a sweet boy and very loving. He is on his way back to Edmonton after frolicking in the California sun with his other 4-legged brother at 3-day eventing competitions. Along in the caravan is our furthest north visitor from British Columbia who also competed in California! Thanks for choosing to stay with us and safe travels home!

Busy afternoon and evening with 2 sets of travelers! One going west and the others going south! We had a full house/pasture! The wind was non-existent and it was a pleasure sitting on the back porch listening to calm, rhythmic, chewing of the pasture horses. As always, thanks for staying at the Paard Yard and we hope to see you again in the spring!

Skip is enjoying a respite in the pasture after having a fun summer in Utah. Now, onto big adventures with his dad up in Alberta doing ranch work! Congratulations on your new opportunities up north! Thanks for staying with us at The Paard Yard!

We will miss you, Miss Bamse! You were a sweet little pony for the month and a half you were here. You were always so eager to greet and keep track of all your stablemates. We hope you enjoy your new home and you’re always welcome back anytime your mom is out of town.

Meet Pepper, Stetson and Mishka! I didn’t get the puppy names, but it was a full house for a few days! Horses were happy to stretch their legs and just relax after quite the trek through several western states helping their owners fulfill a bucket list to trail ride in every state! We’re glad you stopped over and hung your halters here! Safe travels!

A horse named ‘Sting’. Not necessarily a drummer, but keeps good time with his tempi changes, piaffe and passage! He is also a ham in front of the camera! We hope your clinic went fantastic and we appreciate you staying the night with us! Safe travels!

The Paard Yard Olympics were a huge success thanks to our amazing competitors, show moms/husbands, clinician, judges and announcer! Nothing in the horse world is ever possible without community support, excitement and the love of the animal. We were all having so much fun during the day that I forgot to take pictures of the event! 🤦‍♀️. Luckily, one of our Top Fans, Sara Graft, took some opening ceremony pictures for us. Thank you to everyone who participated athletically or volunteered their time. Y’all are rock stars and I am very proud of everyone trying something new and unusual!
