Blue Ridge Beef is recalling 9,60lb of their 2 lb log Puppy Mix Lot #08/06/N25 & 08/16/N25 UPC 854298001696 due to a contamination of Salmonella. (Lot numbers are stamped in the clips on the end of the chubs/bags)

These are what heroes look like; and we don't use that term lightly. Deputy Jack Thorpe and K9 Fiji spent 10 days in Western North Carolina searching for the missing. Jack and Fiji located more than 20 adults and children who had been reported missing, giving their families peace of mind in knowing where their loved ones are and the ability to give them a proper burial. As I type this I'm brought to tears thinking about some of the things they encountered and find myself wondering how heavy it must be for all of the SAR teams to carry around the memories of what they have encountered in the aftermath of Helene.

While details don't need to be shared, I will leave you with this, it takes a special kind of person to knowingly volunteer to go and search through hell and mud all in the name of giving families and communities closure. To say we are proud of Jack, K9 Fiji, and all of the other SAR teams would be a gross understatement. You guys are our unsung heroes, and for that, we will all be forever grateful.

Sending love to all recovering from Hurricane Helene and prayers to those preparing for Hurricane Milton. 🌀💖

Posted • .colors As we prepare for Hurricane Milton to enter our waters, I want to send my deepest love + support to my fellow Floridians. The entire west coast of Florida coastline will be affected by historical winds and storm surges. Some of which haven’t even recovered from Ian 2 years ago, my hometown of Naples & Fort Myers area being one of them.

Also, those who were just impacted from Hurricane Helene just days ago, who haven’t even been able to begin to clean up.
If you are in a mandatory evacuation zone, PLEASE LEAVE!!! First responders WILL NOT answer your calls for help if you are in that zone. It was heartbreaking hearing & seeing some of my personal friends & family being stranded in their homes as feet of water rushed in from all sides.

Keep Florida & the surrounding states still suffering from the loss of Hurricane Helene in your prayers. These storms are getting so powerful, it’s scary! Be there for one another. It’s okay to ask for help. Lend a helping hand & reach out to your neighbor. We will get through this together, again! 🩶✨

Jackson County, NC was largely spared the direct hit from Helene that our neighboring counties received, with damage mostly limited to fallen trees, wind, mudslides, and flooding. Efforts are underway to restore power to Southern Jackson County, telecommunications services, provide drinkable water and assist in regional recovery efforts for harder-hit areas.

Travel is not advised at this time, as roadways should only be utilized for emergency services. If you previously made travel plans to the area, we recommend you check directly with your lodging host on their status.

To check the welfare of family and loved ones, please call United Way's 2-1-1 service or 1-888-892-1162.
