👃 Symptoms can look like allergies—coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, low-grade fever, and lethargy.

🐾 If your dog is showing any symptoms and has a reservation in the next two weeks, please contact us immediately and consult your vet.

💡 To help reduce the spread, limit your pup’s interactions at dog parks, events, or with unfamiliar dogs.

⭐️Stars, stripes, and snacks!🦴

Our lodging pups celebrated the Fourth of July the best way we know how—with homemade frozen treats straight from our heart (and freezer)!

From red, white, and blueberry delights to pupsicle perfection, these patriotic pups stayed cool and had a blast. Fireworks? Nah, frozen snacks were the real highlight of the holiday!💚🐾💙

Over the weekend, we had a guest show mild upper respiratory symptoms—initially thought to be allergies, since she’s had similar signs before. She was quickly treated, and her vet shared that they’re seeing more of these cases around Casper lately.

We didn’t see much of this last summer, but warm weather often means dog parks, travel, and group play—all of which increase the likelihood of airborne illnesses spreading.

Here’s how we’re staying ahead of it:

🐾 Dogs with symptoms must stay home for 10–14 days
🐾 Vet clearance may be required to return
🐾 Vaccines (Bordetella, Rabies, and Distemper/Parvo) must be current
🐾 New clients must be part of our community for 2+ weeks
🐾 Dogs must be in adoptive homes for 30+ days
🐾 Siblings of sick dogs should stay home too
🐾 We have a designated isolation area if needed

🦴 Please help us by limiting your pup’s interaction with unfamiliar dogs, especially if their vaccination history is unknown. If your dog shows any signs of illness, keep them home and avoid high-traffic dog areas.

We’re staying in close contact with local vets and will continue to monitor and respond as needed.

🎆 Safety Tips from Urban Tails 🐾

As we gear up to celebrate the season with fireworks and fun, don’t forget about the ones who may not love the noise—our pets! Here are some quick tips to help keep your furry family members safe and calm:

🔒 Keep Them Secure: Make sure pets are indoors with doors and windows closed. Create a cozy, quiet space away from the noise.

🔈 Sound Soothers: White noise, calming music, or the TV can help drown out the sound of fireworks.

✅ ID Check: Double-check that your pet's ID tags and microchip information are up to date—just in case they get spooked and bolt. Even if they don't normally wear a collar, make today an exception! Using masking tape and a marker can be a quick and effective way to get your contact information on your pet's collar in a pinch.

🚫 No Fireworks Near Pets: Even sparklers and small poppers can be dangerous. Keep all fireworks far away from pets.

💊 Ask Your Vet: If your pet has extreme anxiety, talk to your vet about calming options or medication before the big night. Alternatively, talk to UT staff about Ask Wellness CBD!
