🐾 MEET THE PACK | Carissa — The Day Camp Commander with a Heart of Gold 🐾
Carissa has been part of Urban Tails nearly since we opened, and she’s become a core part of the Day Camp experience. As our Lead Day Camp Counselor — and a certified dog trainer — she sets the standard for safe, structured, and truly enriching play.
Carissa is a steady, confident leader for every pack she works with. She teaches gate boundaries, appropriate play, body language, and self-control, seamlessly rotating between structured play sessions, skill-building, and keeping Washington Bark clean, organized, and running smoothly.

Reading canine body language like a pro. Along with our internal training, she’s earned additional certifications on her own — using that knowledge to support clients, guide teammates through tough situations, and run rock-solid playgroups. When she steps into a yard, everyone knows it’s business time (yes — she’s our lovingly nicknamed “warden”).
But behind that serious, focused leadership is someone wonderfully goofy and soft-hearted. She’s the first to cheer for shy newcomers, offers reassurance when someone is unsure, and beams with pride when campers gain confidence, make friends, or master new skills.
Carissa, thank you for your expertise, consistency, and heart. Day Camp is better because of you — and our campers absolutely know it.
