Over the last year, you may have seen us using the hashtag or phrase "elevated and catered pet care." But what does that really mean?

In our eyes, that means dedication to caring for your animals in every way possible. Through trainings, like the Dog Gurus, PackPro, continuing education, and PetTech CPR & First Aid certifications, our entire team is able to provide top-tier care to all guests in our care.

At UT, we all love animals and have pets, so you can trust that we will treat every guest in our care as if they were our own!

On the eighth day of Pawsmas, UT gave to me... 🎁

Eight seniors snoozin'! 🥱

Remember how we said yesterday we would be discussing rest? Well, guess what?! Today, we are discussing the importance of 💤s for our furry companions!

Did you know dogs' sleep duration varies based on their size, age, and breed? They average between 12 and 14 hours of sleep per day, with puppies and seniors tallying more hours because of their ages.

At UT, our day camp and lodging counselors maximize their time with group play and enrichment activities so our canine guests are ready for extra snoozes during their rest time!

A well-rested dog is a happy dog! 💚🐾💙

Seven lodgers fetchin'! ⚽

Have you ever heard the phrase, "A tired dog is a happy dog?"💤 Well, this holds true for a reason, as exercise significantly impacts their mental state, health, and behavior. Exercise acts as a powerful boredom-buster, preventing dogs from succumbing to restlessness.

At Urban Tails, we understand there is an essential balance between necessary rest (you'll learn about this later!) and physical and mental stimulation for our canine guests. Our counselors work hard to ensure your pups get the exercise they need to be their best!

On the sixth day of Pawsmas, UT gave to me... 🎁

Six labs a-laughin'! 😝

You know all about the human yawn being contagious, right? In the pup world, smiles can be considered contagious, thanks to their human counterpart! Our canine friends excel at reading human body language - which helps them understand why we smile and are eager to replicate!

How about laughter? Do dogs laugh? Your furry friend’s goofy antics may have you wondering, do dogs laugh? While they don't laugh the same as humans, research suggests dogs do laugh in their own way. Dogs can give an impression of laughing by slightly opening their jaws, tilting the angle of their mouth, and panting, resulting in more of a breathy noise!

Proper grooming and coat maintenance is vital to a dog's health! A happy dog makes a happy owner!

When we opened our doors in August 2023, one primary goal was to provide several services within Urban Tails. By offering lodging, day camp, and grooming, we hoped to build lasting relationships with our clients, make your pet comfortable and relaxed within our walls, and offer well-rounded services to keep your fur babies healthy.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce that BIG things are happening within our grooming services after the first of the year. Kara Sterner will partner with Urban Tails to provide top-notch grooming services and experiences that align with our standards!

On the Third Day of Pawsmas, UT gave to me... 🎁

Three tails a wagging! 🐶

The long and short tale of a dog's tail is that they are all very different!

Did you know a dog's tail has anywhere between six and 23 vertebrae depending on the breed? Not only does a dog communicate through its tail, but it is also used for balance, swimming, and even as a scent-spreader to other canines and animals!

No matter the dog, at UT, we love to see all of the tail wagging and wiggle butts! 💙🐾💚

On the Second Day of Pawsmas, UT gave to me... 🎁

Two Beagles beagling! 🐶

As a pet care facility, we acknowledge and appreciate that dogs come to us from all walks of life and experiences. While most owners know the pup's lineage or background, some are only given limited information and must work with what they know.

Enter Ronin and Chinook! Both beagles were rehabilitated from laboratory research by Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary and later adopted by their loving families. These boys spent most of their lives in labs and didn't know how to be a dog.

Since joining our day camp program, we are happy to announce that both Ronin and Chinook the Rescue Beagle have learned how to be dogs and are darn good at it! 💙🐾💚

A Bo in a window!

At Urban Tails, we aren't just about the dogs! Did you know we have a dedicated area for cat lodging?🐱

At Hotel Catsylvania, we can provide individual penthouses for three feline families at a time! They have access to the area's hammock, tunnels, toys, and more throughout the day. And there's no need to worry - all families have their own time and don't interact with other cats. 💙🐾💚

We always love celebrating our UT pups' birthdays, but today is a special day to celebrate!

Our very own Eleanor turned 10 years old today! If you've ever been in our lobby, checked out our website, or talked to our owners, you've probably seen or heard about Miss Elle.

Happy birthday, you playful, lap-sitting, kiss- giving, toy-throwing, Monkey!

Wednesday morning, we heard the news that our favorite golden boy passed away from a rare immune disorder.

Morgan and his brother, Copper, have been attending our Day Camp Program since the beginning, and our UT Team has grown to love them both deeply.

Morgan was a sweet boy with an old soul. He came in every Wednesday morning telling us stories and letting us know how excited he was to be here. He spent most of his playtimes soaking up all the attention from our Day Camp Counselors. Being an old soul, he also made sure to help us monitor our playgroups and gave his two cents when his brother was getting too rambunctious.

He was the bestest boy and always used his manners, even though his "resting-Morgan face" said differently. We joked about how annoyed he was when he was waiting for the rest of his playgroup to also use their manners.

He was a one-of-a-kind dog, and we will deeply miss him. Our hearts are broken for Copper and his pet parents. ❤️

At UT, we are so thankful for our family of clients who trust us with their fur babies! In our short time operating in our community, we have been lucky to watch many puppies grow within our facility!

Meet Coup, a golden retriever who joined the UT family in October 2023 at the age of four months. We have enjoyed watching him grow into a handsome young man, and he has kept our team on their toes since day one! Coup is so bright and inquisitive that he was an OG when we started our enrichment program!

We are excited to announce that Urban Tails is again participating in the Casper Humane Society's Giving Tree program!🎄This holiday season, we invite our clients to support the animals in need at the Casper Humane Society and our community!

The Giving Tree is currently displayed at UT and will be through December. Each ornament on the tree represents a specific need for an animal at the shelter, such as food, toys, or cleaning supplies. By selecting an ornament and fulfilling the wish list item, you will be helping to provide essential care for these animals. 🐶🐱
