Mox, the sire of both of these puppies have strong genetics! At first glance you wouldn’t even know that they weren’t related! He is a red and white AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I am not quite sure if these littles will turn red and white or stay sable. Time will tell!

These two littles are 2 weeks old today! They are from Maple x Mox. They are AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgi. They received their first round of wormer, and are growing well!

Here is the lineup of all of Layne x Mox litter. There are 10 of them! 6 girls and 4 boys. They all are pretty similar to one and other. Some have more white others have less. There happens to be just 1 black one. I imagine they will turn out to look like a red and white corgi, (like their dad Mox)

They had tails done last week, and will be one week old on Tuesday!

Taking deposits now, and will be ready the first part of October!

I shared this from a fellow breeder friend.

Yes it seems like a harsh rude “conversation “ but breeders put SO much time and lots of money to invest in their dogs and breeding program. We all do it a little different. To have a good quality dog, you need to find a reputable breeder and you have to be willing to pay for quality.

POTENTIAL OWNER: How much is the puppy?
BREEDER: $2,000
POTENTIAL OWNER: What?? It's way too expensive!!
BREEDER: What do you think would be a good price?
POTENTIAL OWNER: No more than $500. You breeders are so over priced.
BREEDER: I am sorry you see it this way, why don't you try it yourself?
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I've never done it!
BREEDER: For FREE I can teach you how to do it, and in addition you will have the knowledge to do it again.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Perfect, thank you!
BREEDER: To start you will need a female(average cost $3000 and up). Also a male(average cost $3000 and up) or semen (average $1000 and up). You will need to show them to their championship to show they meet the breed standard(Minimal $2000 with travel & fees). You will need to do genetic & health testing on them, averages about $750 per dog. Raise and provide daily care, feeding & grooming for 2 years. (So minimal $150 per month)
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have that much money...
BREEDER: For $500 you can raise a liter and then keep one of the puppies. Obviously, you will pay the cost of whelping & care.
POTENTIAL OWNER: I can do that.
BREEDER: OK so I have a female due to whelp in 2 weeks. You will need to be available 24/7 around the clock for at least 8 weeks to help with delivery and care.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Eight weeks?? it's way too much time for me! I have to work.
BREEDER: You will also need the reproductive vet to do xrays($100-$300), possibly progesterone testing($75-$250) & C-section($1000-$5000) and initial vet care on pups until old enough to be placed.
Have on hand a scale, thermometer, latex gloves, sanitizer, absorbent tissues, scissors, hemostats, heating pad, whelping box, blankets, cleaning supplies, appropriate food with supplements for mothers, formula, medications & hand feeding supplies in case of emergency....
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have all these things!
BREEDER: For $1000 you can buy them.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Ummm .... You know, I think it might be better if I just buy a puppy.
BREEDER: Wise decision.
For us breeders there are no vacations or holidays, while you go to visit with family & friends we are home at our dogs side caring for them. It is a no breaks commitment.
THIS IS THE REALITY
When you choose a professional you don't only pay for the puppy but also:
Tools, knowledge, experience, love, time, sacrifices, etc...

She ended up with 10! If my count is correct, 6 girls and 4 boys. The last one maybe the only black one (will know when she dries completely) I will get some individual photos soon.

Layne has been keeping a secret! Well not really, we knew, but the amount of puppies! Currently she has 8!

These puppies will be good ranch pups, as well as your next best friend. Their mom Layne is VERY livestock smart! With no formal training, she is all instinct! She is an Auggie (corgi, aussie mix) and dad, Mox is a red and white purebred AKC pembroke welsh corgi.

These puppies will be roughly (75% corgi and 25% aussie) I imagine they all will lighten up to look like their dad!

AKC corgis born 8/3/24! 3 males and 2 females. Love their coloring! 2 are sable (I’ve never had this color) and the rest most likely will be red tris. One of the males is a runt next to his siblings! But he is only 2 oz smaller than the rest!

Probably the best Friday pupdate! Miss Piper made her journey from Wyoming all the way to Tennessee very early this morning!!

I am a huge believer that everything happens for a reason. One path chosen leads to another. We don’t always like the direction we are sent, but we take life as it comes. Piper, her daughter and her daughter’s half sister were placed in my path for a reason. As mentioned previously, they came to live at the ranch in April. They were no longer “needed” I will not elaborate on that but you can imagine the scenario. Over the last 6 weeks I have been wondering if there were perfect homes out in the world for the trio. Older dogs are much much harder to find homes for then cute little corgi puppies. I was blind to this until recently! When Amber, Pipers new mom asked me what it would take to get her to Tennessee for her daughter Ceci, I really only knew of air or ground transport. Amber immediately jumped into action trying to find someone to quickly come for Piper. Almost instantly she found someone to come!

Miranda was Pipers transport. She was coming from Indiana to Wyoming and then to Tennessee. Wednesday night, at roughly 10:00 p.m., Miranda made it! She had a cozy bed awaiting for Piper in her car. As quickly as she came, they were gone! Over the course of the last 36 hrs, Miranda was sending updates on Piper. She let Amber and I know every step of the way how everything was transpiring. At 3:45 this morning I received a text from Miranda letting me know their journey ended, and Piper made it to her new furever home! For most people, it would take roughly 2 solid days, but Miranda choose to drive this journey pretty much non stop! Only stopping for quick naps and Piper potty breaks!

Lead by this amazing event, I was sent the sweetest video of Ceci meeting Piper for the first time this morning, from Amber. Literally tears in my eyes! Then this beautiful photo! A dog deserving their happy ending, and a little girl wanting her very own corgi. I am beyond greatful for this whole experience ❤️❤️❤️

Sweet Piper was just picked up by her transportation. She will be headed to Tennessee to live out her best life living with her own little girl!! She has absolutely no idea she is coming!

I get so attached to these little dogs! However, I know she is going to an amazing home, and ultimately this is her forever second chance. That is only what I wanted for these older gals. Permanent forever loving homes. ❤️

Corgi puppies are already 2 weeks old today! They all received their first round of wormer, and they are all gaining weight appropriately. Little Domino is the first to have his eyes open! Everyone else is just peeping on the world right now! 4 boys and 2 girls. Currently 1 boy has his furever! They will be ready after 8/1/24
