Puppy explosion today! 8 beautiful and sweet Cane Corso puppies graced us with their presence today for their first puppy shots and vet check before going to new homes. 5 pups are still looking for their forever homes. 💕

Highlighting this sweet working mama today for Vet Tech Week! Although currently out on maternity leave with her sweet 1st baby girl, she made a fun appearance for us today!
If any of you have had the pleasure to have Devon help you with one of your pets, you know how passionate she is about animals. She runs the surgery and treatment room when not out on maternity leave. She has been with us for several years now and is the backbone of what happens in the background of the clinic. She runs surgeries, dentals, oversees hospitalized patients, draws and runs labs, places catheters, calls in prescriptions to pharmacies, and calls clients back with lab results. She does it all! We are so happy for her starting her family and enjoying this precious time with her new baby girl, and we anticipate her return! Thank you Devon for all you do!

Happy Vet Tech Week Everyone!!

Highlighting this special lady today as we celebrate Vet Tech Week. Seldom people really understand what dedication goes into the daily life choice of becoming a veterinary technician. You may see a smiling person handing back your beloved pet, but you may not exactly appreciate what all has occurred in that person’s work day. She may have just ran anesthesia for 5 hours during a pelvic fracture repair, or recovered a c-section after helping deliver puppies. She may have just hugged a client as they said goodbye to their beloved pet. She may have just gotten screamed at over the phone regarding something that is completely out of her control. She likely got peed on, pooped on, cleaned up vomit, or worse. She may have spent the night at the clinic caring for a hospitalized patient and has had hardly any sleep, and is quite literally living on caffeine. But there she is, smiling at you and caring for your pet. She does all of this for the love of animals, love of the knowledge, and training that comes with this job.

Kaici has done all of this and more. She is currently filling the shoes of 2 technicians as her fellow partner in crime, Devon, is out on maternity leave. 💕 She somehow manages to keep compassion in her heart, a smile on her face, and passion for this profession. We are all lucky to work side-by-side this lady. Our patients are so fortunate to have her caring for them, and our clients should be so thankful she is there calling them back, answering their questions, and guiding them in the care of their pets.

Thank you Kaici Jensen for all that you do! She doesn’t do it alone, she has a whole team of veterinary assistants who all work together to keep our clinic running smoothly. We are grateful for each and every one of you!

Thank you all vet techs and assistants in this profession! Your daily commitment never goes unappreciated! If you happen to be in the clinic this week, help us thank all of our staff for everything they do!!

Here is a summary of a dental procedure to explain and walk you through what a typical dental cleaning looks like at Hound and Katt. We do survey dental radiographs with each dental, and all are maintained on IV fluid therapy, inhalation anesthesia, and full monitoring equipment. Their teeth are closely examined, cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner, and then followed by a polish. Fresh and clean!

My favorite part of being a vet….inspiring and teaching the next generation. This girl is so bright and yearning for knowledge and experience. She made my day with her intellect and questions. 💕🫶🏼 🐶
