Amaranth Acres Performance Horses is a full service equestrian facility located near Cass City MI. We are now set up to work cattle! We have a 70x120 indoor arena and a 100x200 outdoor arena. Extra care has been put in to the footing for the indoor arena. We have 10 large stalls, with lights, a heated tack room/observation area and a wash stall with hot water and an infrared warmer to keep the chill off the horses after their bath. Horses have individual turn outs on grassy runs and are out as much as possible year round. Our trainer,Ashleigh Stoeckle, specializes in reining, reined cow horse, ranch riding and c**t starting and training of any age horse. She is experienced in most disciplines. Ashleigh is a University of Findlay graduate and has spent several years as an assistant trainer to some of the top trainers across the nation. She has also shown a World Champion IBHA Hunter Under Saddle horse as a youth. She is now available for lessons and training horses. We compete in ABRA, FQHA, ARHA, AQHA and NRHA circuits. Why the name Amaranth? As we were struggling to come up with a new farm name, with no success, we started naming less than desirable attributes to the farm, like box elder hill, or thistle downs and the name amaranth was brought up as the scientific name for pigsweed. We laughed and moved on. Later Amaranth came up again and we looked up other meanings. There are over 60 species of flowers in the amaranth family, and plants that produce grain. What really interested us was the word amaranth comes from the Greek word amaranton, meaning "unwilting". At Amaranth Acres Performance Horses we will strive to be "unwilting" as we work towards our goal of providing an excellent place to help others reach their equestrian dreams!
