I'm Teresa and we love Jack Russells here at Raintree! We are in a rural section of Kershaw County South Carolina, and offer lots of room for the little white dogs to run and play. Our goal is to rescue as many jrts from kill shelters and private homes that can no longer care for the dogs. We decided this was what we are suppose to do after losing Torrie, our little rescue from southern Florida, b

ack in March of 2013. She was taken from her home where she was emaciated, had no hair due to fleas and ticks and malnourishment. She lived in filth and was 35 to 40% underweight from starvation. After several months here at Raintree, Torrie went from a wild-eyed mess on Prazac to a wonderful loving little dog. It took a lot of time and patience, but it was worth all the effort it took to rehabilitate her. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge March 23, 2013. Most likely due to her tragic life prior to coming to SC with us, she developed an enlarged heart... and it just gave out. What a short 15 months we had with that beautiful little dog. She will forever be missed... and loved. These precious little dogs we rescue will be fully vetted, spayed or neutered, heart worm tested, and loved before finding new forever homes. We are a private, self-funded rescue that loves the breed and want to help every jack and jack mix we can! Monetary gifts to the dogs, donations of food, collars, leashes, harnesses, toys, vet care, beds or anything dog related will be appreciated. Our vet is Dr. Hamilton Tetterton, Mill Village Veternarian in Camden, SC. If you or anyone you know would like to adopt a Jack Russell, or can no longer care for their Jack Russell and wish to rehome them, please let us know.

TESS

Age: 6

Meet Tess, a beautiful 6-year-old broken coated girl who is cute, sweet, and as adorable as they come. She loves being around her people and exploring new places.

Tess is a good adult and respectful children, and she gets along with most other dogs as well. She is more attentive to her person than to the other dogs honestly.

She likes knowing where her person is and interacting with them. She’s very smart and will sit on command, beg or sit pretty, and she gives high-fives. She loves to go for walks and explore the backyard or the neighborhood. She’s just a great little dog.
Tess is spayed and is current on all of her vaccines, and she is heartworm negative and on prevention.

TOBY

Age: 12

Meet Toby, a 12-year-old Parson Russell terrier who is absolutely gorgeous. We don’t know what kind of life he had before Raintree, but he is very leery of men but seems to be OK with most women. It takes him a little while to trust you and if a man is patient and quiet around him, he will learn to trust that man and gives great affection once he knows you won’t hurt him.
Toby is a loyal and affectionate dog, and he gets along with most other dogs he has been around here at Raintree. He loves to be near his person. He does great in a crate overnight. He seems to be house trained once he is acclimated with his new surroundings. At first, he may mark a few times, but then once he learns your routine, he is a good boy.

Toby walks well on a leash, and he loves his outings. He does have a healthy prey drive, so we are not sure if cats are a good idea to be around him. He is current on all of his vaccines and is neutered. Toby is heartworm negative and on prevention.

Happy Sunday everyone. The hurry scurrying for the holiday preparations is in full force today for many but I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to some Raintree partners we received goodies from yesterday. You all who send the rescue supplies, food, and monetary donations are true heroes to these little white dogs! Thank you!

Let’s play a game!
This game will help us with Amelia and her 8 brand new babies! They will have their first vet visit later this week and of course we need funding for their Raintree Jacks Journey so… let’s play “Claim It”.
We had a wonderful Team Raintree partner donate some Annalee Christmas collectibles and you can “Claim” your favorite pieces from the collection. I found most of these cute pieces for sale
online and am offering them to you to “Claim” for 1/4 of the lowest price I found.
Of course you may chose to donate more than the 1/4 if you wish, but not required or expected. You may claim one or all but you have to be the first to declare your CLAIM in the comments of each picture. I will post the item we have then after I will post what I found online. Only stake your claim on the picture by the little Raintree Christmas tree. You will be able to easily tell the difference!
Each picture will have a description and an amount it will require to “Claim It”! Simply be the first to comment “CLAIM IT” and the amount you will donate to claim it.

BOONE

Age: 1

Sweet and gorgeous Boone so wants a home for Christmas. Right at a year old, all vax, HW negative, neutered, 20 pounds, and as you can see, just a little bit friendly lol. Super Parsons pup right here!

He is very attentive to his handler, looks at you often as if watching for cues. He is super smart. Appears to be potty trained (but can't guarantee). Loves to play with other dogs - he is a puppy though so can be a bit vivacious playing so would recommend monitoring closely when playing with smaller dogs.

OH! And I totally forgot... he pays NO attention to cats! See pic #2 there is a cat, and he is like, "hmphf! not a deal at all". Invisible cat.
