Festus
Festus got put to work gathering and loading cows also! This young gelding has taken pretty much everything in stride, from gathering, pushing cows, to swinging a rope..
In 30 days of training, getting these young colts out and about to see new sites and sounds really teaches you about their understanding of what your asking of them
Luna
Some horses are easy, some horses aren’t so easy!
Luna has had a mind of her own and has definitely been a challenge! Here is a video of loading cows in the working alley to be preg checked. This was Luna’s first day of work and for a young horse taking them to gather and work cows in the pens is definitely an eye opener to them.
It’s been a busy couple weeks here and this round of client horses are starting to earn their keep!
Here is a clip of BJ’s first trip to the branding pen and first day of handling a rope! This colt is coming along nicely and will make a nice horse as he matures and goes back to his owner.
BJ😊
It’s not always serious around here😉. We make it fun!

BJ has come a long ways!
**Luna’s first ride**
This filly had a mind of her own starting out, no forward motion even when lunging with a flag. Instead of using a forceful method, we made it her own idea to move out.

To solve this problem, we turned another horse loose in the round pen with her. After a few laps around Luna got over her sticky feet and moved freely even when the other horse wasn’t moving.
Driving Bj (2nd time)
Here is a colt that we raised and then sold to a friend. When we got the call to start him there was no turning this one down!

Driving takes time and patience but the results are well worth it.
**Classic**
Here is a big roan filly that we raised, she has been turned out to grow and now it’s time for her to be started.. it’s the little steps that make big leaps in a horses mind.

We are excited to see how she turns out!
**Festus’s first ride**
Starting colts is hardly ever easy but, after hours of desensitizing, ground work, and driving, The first ride is always rewarding!
