We are opening up our sign ups for our upcoming fall CSA! Our fall CSA will run from the weekend of September 27th till the weekend of December 13th. Each week participants will recieve a box of the freshest, certified natural grown, produce. Boxes will contain a mix of fresh greens, root veg, seasonal produce, and anything at peak harvest for the week to guarantee the most nutrient dense food for your weekly meals! All our produce is as naturally grown as possible, never being sprayed with any sort of biocide or chemicals. Busy this fall? Sign up for our fall CSA and let us do your groceries for you!! We have another volunteer day coming up this Saturday, June 8th, from 10am-1pm! We are asking our local community, friends, and family to come help us pull our remaining onions and get them curing on the farm. Some light labor involved but nothing too serious. Come out and enjoy a beautiful day getting dirty and sweaty with your local farmers, and go home with some goodies for your help! Farm address is 2223 chair rd castle Hayne NC. Are you upset you missed our first volunteer day of the year?? We’ll dry those eyes cause we are having our second one on Saturday April 6th! We will meet at the farm at 10am and work till 1pm. We will be using this time to get all our row covers folded and put away for the season, also take the chance to declutter the walkways of any bricks and cinder blocks. We’re opening up this year to volunteer days! Our first one will be Saturday March 2nd from 10-1. We will be receiving our onions on the 1st and will need some hands to help plant them in our prepared beds on the 2nd. If you’ve been chomping at the bit to get a little dirty and be outside for a bit then this may be a great opportunity to do just that! We are asking anyone interested to shoot us an email or direct message with your name and email address, the week before the event we will send out an email to everyone reminding them of the event address, time and suggestions on what to wear. Help us feed you this season and become more integrated in our food community! 🌱✌🏼🙏🏼

With funeral costs adding up and it being the slow season, we decided to open our spring CSA sign up a little early. If you were considering our CSA this spring, I encourage you to sign up early and get your payment in. Payments aren’t due till the end of March but payments made early would be extremely helpful in my current situation. Our CSA is an 11 week program, starting April 19th and going till June 28th. Each week you’ll receive a box of the freshest produce available, we also send out newsletters every week for our CSA members letting you know what’s coming in the box, recipes, lots of pictures and info on any events or markets we will be at. I know it’s a little early to be thinking about food in April but it would go along way in helping us through this difficult time. I lost my dad last weekend. Our relationship wasn’t the best towards the end and I’ll always regret that I didn’t do enough. Thought we’d have more time to work everything out, but the universe had other plans. My dad wasn’t always the best at being a “father” but he had the biggest heart and deeply cared for his friends and family. I will miss many things but I will definitely miss his laugh the most. I know he loved me and was proud of me, I just hope he knew I loved him back. He’s with his mom and brothers now…love you always dad!

Spent most the day today preparing a few hundred pounds of this beautiful cabbage for sauerkraut. I spent the time thinking of my relatives who are no longer here and what all they took pleasure in when it came to preparing food. Canning and fermenting are no longer a necessity for eating good through the winter, but they used to be, in fact, your well-being depended on it. Now everyone has seemed to have forgotten these techniques but I feel like they are slowly have a resurgence. Eating food straight from your garden is the most nourishing food you’ll ever eat, food that went from the ground to your mouth without sitting on a shelf for weeks. I’m so extremely greatful for everyone of our market customers, restaurants and all the families in our CSA for believing in us, our product and our message. Every dollar that you’ve spent has gone to employees and their families, farm projects, growth, supplies, tools, and seed! If your too busy or don’t live in the right space to have your own garden, support your local farmers and farmers markets! Fresh food is the best food. Thank you all again and happy new years everyone! 🌱✌🏼🙏🏼
