No matter what I charge as a groomer, I pay a dear price. With every dog I bath, every dog I brush, with every snip of my shears I pay the price. Little by little groomers are being worn down by the constant waves of work washing over us, diminishing imperceptibly our bodies, the risk of serious harm hanging over us like an anvil on a thread. A strain, a cut, a bite, or the silent disappearance of cartilage from our joints. We are all paying that price. I have got to keep a little for myself for walking on the beach when I get older because wheelchairs don’t roll in the sand.

I recently have had some excruciating shoulder pain, and the doctor diagnosed me with a degenerative rotator cuff tear. It is manageable but I have been advised to stop grooming big dogs or dogs with super thick coats.

With that said I can not accept dogs over 60lbs, I will no longer accept dogs that are not on an 8 week or less schedule. My body physically can not handle it.

Also please keep in mind if you get a Newfie puppy (or any other large breed dog) I still won't be able to accept it, so please keep this in mind when you pick your next dog as you'll need to have a different groomer lined up for all your grooming needs.

As always thank you for all your love and support. I want to continue to groom for the next 40 years because I'm only good at 3 things. Grooming dogs, riding horses (questionable) and eating food and let's face it, I love me some taco bell so my pallet isn't refined enough to be a food critic 🤣
