Our Story
Douglas County Canine Rescue was founded in 2014 by Rebecca Waldrop. Rebecca is a furmama to several rescue dogs of her own, but knew she could do more. In 2014 she decided to take her dedication to saving animals a step further by starting DCCR. We are a no-kill 501(c)(3) canine rescue located in Colorado. Pulling and rescuing dogs from kill shelters is a tough, thankless job, but the passion of our founder, fosters, and volunteers is what enables us to do what we do and love every single day. DCCR is about one thing: helping dogs in need! Our mission is to rescue abandoned animals, spay, neuter, and provide medical care, and then put them with foster homes until we get them adopted into the loving homes that they need and deserve! Douglas County Canine Rescue does not have a facility. We rely solely on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers who open their hearts to help us take care of the animal orphans that desperately need help. Want to help us out by volunteering, donating or even fostering? Check out our website for all the details you’ll need! www.douglascountycanine.org
