Final times for tomorrow. It did not rain today, and the footing is good! Reminder: the show will be held in our small dressage arena, and all single classes are $35, Pas de Deux is $30. Warm up in the indoor. We will not have a food booth for this show. The benefit class will be judged and will be scored in penalty points to accommodate the eclectic entries. We have a blue tooth speaker that can link to your device for the musical rides, please have your music ready to sync at the time of your ride. A savvy, techy teenager would be a VERY welcome volunteer tomorrow!

Yesterday our best boy Comanche left for a new home with our friends Ken and Eli. Comanche was the starter horse for so many riders, the confidence booster, the pinch hitter, the go to guy for anyone and everyone. He came to me years ago as a boarder and 4-H career horse for one of my closest families, he went to State Show for years, the Big E. When his owner went off to college a decade ago, Comanche took on lessons here with star power. Never the prettiest, never the flashiest, but always the hardest worker in the arena. His laminitis was always a concern, but he stoically never took a lame step. Shane has been shoeing him for years now, always telling me that this is the last year, yet on we have gone. 2 weeks ago, when Shane was unable to put the right front shoe back on, we decided to try to get my friend Ken to take Comanche on as his pet project. Ken has the experience, knowledge and ability to keep Comanche doing what he loves to do… this is a huge loss to our lesson program; honestly there is no horse that could replace Comanche. But this transition will hopefully extend his career, and keep this vibrant, otherwise healthy and happy young at heart special equine going for many more years. Cheers to our best boy 🥂

Many hands needed! Our volunteers make our events safer and more efficient. Local Horse Trials are very dependent upon volunteers to keep us going. And this Sunday is forecast to be beautiful weather!

Not one photo from Adult Dressage Camp today…because it was so much fun, so busy, the day was waaaayyy too short. We stretched, sweated, rode and stretched again. I can’t wait to do it again tomorrow and Sunday! If you missed today, you can still come tomorrow! 2 spots available, fun easy comraderie with fellow horse and music lovers. Pilates, yoga, swimming (our pool is 82 degrees) fans in the indoor and a speaker that our neighbors have to tolerate. What could be more fun?

Ladies! We are going to have a GREAT weekend, starting tomorrow! It’s hot, but we have fans on in the indoor and some fun surprises for you tomorrow in addition to Pilates, Yoga and unlimited dressage. Bring a lunch, plenty to drink, swimsuit & towel (towel for Pilates even if you don’t want to swim). A stall is ready for your horse, and horses are available for you if you would like to borrow one. Bring your iPads and music ideas, and of course your enthusiasm! Regular lesson students are invited to audit and join our stretching classes at no charge. Let’s have a weekend of horses, dressage and good company, and hopefully start an annual tradition!

Finalized times for tomorrow’s horse trials! Weather is starting to look a little better! See everyone in the morning, we hope to see a lot of volunteers to help the day run smoothly; we still need someone to bring dressage tests from our judge and scribe to our secretary all morning (9am-11:30), 6 cross country judges (I think we’ve got 4 so far so still looking for 2), stadium jump crew (1 or 2 people).

Attached also is tomorrow’s Show Jump Course! This will also be posted on the fence at the arena. All riders will go to stadium as soon as they finish cross country!

Reminder! Entries for Sunday’s Horse Trials close Thursday at 5pm. That’s tomorrow! The weather is looking wet for the weekend; weather is the reason I don’t close my entries until Thursday, so that you can decide whether or not you want to truck in the rain or extreme temperatures. Our next Trials will be July 21.

Our first Horse Trials of 2024 is June 30! The property is much drier this year and we have been picking up tree limbs and sticks all spring 😂 the grounds are mowed, we are w**d whacking like crazy and sprucing up the jumps in anticipation of a great year. Entries close the Thursday prior to the Trials, June 27. Volunteers needed as always; fence judging, jump crew, steward, score runner, barn sweep, let us know how you can help keep our entry level event safe and fun by volunteering your time to support this great sport.

Tomorrow’s weather for Friday Night Under the Lights is looking pretty disappointing with rain all day, and thunderstorms. The evening looks okay, and I will still host the event for those who wish to come despite the wet footing. However, I will be using my plastic rails in the mud rather than my wooden rails, and I will probably not want to use my precious flowers in the mud. Sunday is looking beautiful, so I am going to offer an alternative opportunity on Sunday at 1:00. It is Father’s Day, so I will keep the Friday date as well. Same price for Sunday; $60 to ride up to 4 courses, entries due Saturday. Post entries are welcome for $20 additional. Or, feel free to come Friday and Sunday!
