Angus & Friends is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Castro Valley, CA dedicated to helping feral cats.

Angus & Friends Cat Rescue is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2022. Angus & Friends works collaboratively with other groups to do Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and to find loving homes for as many stray cats and kittens as possible. We are passionate about the cats, and about educating the public about ways to help the cats and kittens that cross their paths with the goal of reducing the numbers

of community cats on the streets. Our organization is dedicated to the memory of Angus, a 15-year-old orange tabby who was found on death's door by people who lived in his neighborhood who assumed he had a home. He didn't, but probably did at one time, because he turned out to be friendly, though very sick. Efforts were made to save him, but he ultimately had to be put down because he was not recovering after a blood transfusion due to flea anemia. Our goal is to help as many homeless cats and kittens as possible to get off the mean streets and place them in new loving, furrever homes.

I'd like to introduce you to Ava and Bandit! These adorable kittens are siblings who were recently rescued and are now searching for their forever home. Ava is a beautiful, petite kitten, while Bandit is a handsome boy known for his thick, luxurious fur and distinctive mask.

Their foster mom describes them as a close-knit pair who enjoy cuddling and love to follow her around the house. They also love to play and explore on their own. She also noted that they often seem to have their own little conversations with the softest squeaks. They like being petted on their own terms, like most cats, and will often climb onto her lap for cuddles. They are always aware of each other’s location, and sometimes they even seek comfort together in one of their crates.

Ava and Bandit have settled in well with their foster family, but they may be a bit shy or skittish initially. Therefore, they would do best in a calm home with a patient adopter who can give them the time they need to feel comfortable in their new surroundings.

Maggie May is an incredibly sweet kitten who adores human attention! No joke. She truly is. While she thrives on being the center of your world, she has also adjusted well to sharing her space with other calm, easygoing cats after a brief adjustment period. Maggie May would be thrilled to have a home filled with cat furniture—like cat trees, shelves, or other spots where she can climb and explore both vertically and horizontally. This energetic and athletic girl has plenty of energy to burn and will keep you entertained with her playful spirit. She also loves being petted, cuddling on laps, and playing with a variety of cat toys.

Maggie May was born on approximately 6/15/24. She has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her shots.

💖 This is not an April Fool's joke: Stella is a sweet, short-haired gray tabby female, born approximately January 1, 2023. She is playful, gets along well with other cats, and loves to cuddle! Stella has been spayed, is up to date on her shots, and will be microchipped prior to adoption. She would be happiest in a quiet home without young children, as toddlers can overwhelm her.

Stella is considered a Manx kitty; however, she does not show any of the typical signs of Manx syndrome, such as incontinence or lack of sensation in the hind legs. She gets around perfectly well and is litterbox trained!

Annie is a sweet, a lovebug who is ready for cuddles. She's about a year old and a tame tabby! Annie could use foster or adoptive home.

Annie gets along with the other cats, and is not shy at all. With no prompting, she was on the bed and is quite the snugglebug! She has not been up close and personal with dogs, but the foster lived on one side of a duplex where the other side had big dogs, so she has been around them. Annie would likely do well with calm kids over 6 years old.

Annie would do especially well with one of her siblings with whom she grew up, and we love adopting in pairs wherever possible! If you have been thinking of adopting, you couldn’t go wrong with Annie and one of her siblings or a buddy. Annie seems to get along very well with Rocky who, although not a sibling, grew up in the same home as Annie.

Annie was born in approximately March 2023. She has been spayed and will be up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption.

Meet Ben, a sweet and affectionate cat who is looking for a loving forever home. Ben was rescued from a difficult situation after his previous owner became ill and was unable to care for him. Despite his past, Ben is a very loving cat who enjoys pets and attention. He may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and responds well to kindness and affection.

Ben is missing one eye, but this doesn't slow him down at all! He's still a playful and energetic cat who would make a wonderful companion.

🐾 Call for Volunteers: Help Feed Feral Cats in Hayward! 🐾

Our cat rescue organization is currently seeking compassionate individuals like yourself to assist in feeding feral cat colonies within the Hayward area. These vulnerable cats depend on the dedication of feeders for their daily sustenance, and we require additional support to ensure their well-being and safety.

📍 Locations: Various spots in Hayward (W. Winton, Clawiter or Manon)
📅 Commitment: Any number of days—once a week or more, whatever you can offer!
🐱 What You'll Do: Provide food and fresh water, check on the well-being of the cats, and be part of a lifesaving effort.

If you're interested in contributing your time to this important cause, please consider becoming a volunteer feeder. Your efforts would make a significant difference in the lives of these feral cats. ❤️

🆘 EXPERIENCED FOSTER NEEDED ASAP! (Castro Valley/San Leandro areas) This young Siamese-mix cat was trapped and spayed yesterday. We need an experienced cat foster ASAP to take her in and help us determine if she is tame, or can possibly be tamed. The cat’s TNR person is overwhelmed and cannot keep her, even for a short time to see if she is tame. We would love to get this kitty off the street and not have to put her back outside, because she is in a bad area where the neighbors do not want cats around.
