You might have noticed our hospital is looking a little quieter. We lost our beloved hospital cat Kuma on Monday. She came to our hospital over 10 years ago thanks to Dr. Gandolfi and has been here ever since. She loved to greet people in the lobby and terrorize dogs by lurking around corners and strolling past them or try crawling in other cats carriers.
We feel the loss and miss you everyday Kuma, thank you for the laughs and all the times you stole our food and seats.

We can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week already! We wanted to remind everyone that CVCAH is closed for Thanksgiving 11/24 and Black Friday 11/25 and we open again Monday 11/28.
With the holidays coming we are even busier at times, which can mean longer response times and turn around on medications and food refills. Please keep this in mind and thank you!

This week is National Veterinary Technician Week and at we celebrate our technicians everyday. You’ve probably seen them running around the hospital, or helping out with your fur friend when they visit, but there’s also so much more they do that you don’t see everyday and that’s why we want to give them a big thanks and round of applause.
So if you see them this week give them a special thanks for all that they do.
Thank You technicians of Castro Valley Companion!

As things begin to open up lives will slowly go back to as they were and for many that means our dogs will be alone at home while we are at work. Just as you might have some anxiety they might as well. Help your fur friend adjust to your new routine.

As people get back to in-person work, it may be a difficult transition for dogs and their owners. One tip from a veterinarian: Don't make a big deal about leaving and coming back home.
