In what was probably the last show of 2024 (but the first show of the 2025 season), Brenda and Willa and Rachel and Jax made some moves to step up a level (with Willa moving up to 2nd and Jax to PSG).

Big thanks to Christiane Noelting and Laurie Daniel as always for an amazing show and also to Schleese Saddlery Service for being a sponsor of the awesome prizes. Both Brenda and Rachel were able to cash in their CNDC bucks from the show year for nice Schleese bridles! We're looking forward to the next one.

In what was probably the last show of 2024 (but the first show of the 2025 season), Brenda and Willa and Rachel and Jax made some moves to step up a level. It was a nice show (as it always is at CNDC), however the wind levels for the day made for some spooky horses! We navigated that without any [.....

The fun hasn't stopped yet! The weather has been lovely and we had a break in the show schedule to get over to Woodside to do some schooling for three pairs – Beth and Tobi, Anne and Fable and Mia and Dandy.

All three pairs had great schooling days with no major issues and the ponies showing exactly how awesome they are at their jobs. Looking forward to the next one!

Tamale and Kelly headed over to PEC this weekend to wrap up what will likely be their last show at 1st level and it was a great show!

Tamale was the most relaxed he’s ever been at a new venue. No baby antics. They got good scores in their tests and did what they needed to do. They are qualified for All Breeds, so now it's just waiting to see how scores play out. Kelly's mom and her friend Bridget came out to cheer her on and support. Congratulations on a fantastic show season Kelly and Tamale!

Beare Equestrian assistant trainer, Sophie Tice, has had a very positive Eventing competition season thus far! She started the 2024 show season out at the modified level with her 7 year old Oldenberg-Westphalian mare, Viva La Vida. After finishing 2nd in the March event at Ram Tap, 4th in the April event at Twin Rivers, and 1st in the Modified Match at Woodside, she decided that her young mare was ready to make her Preliminary debut. Sophie was beyond pleased with the professionalism and bravery Viva displayed in their first Prelim at August Woodside. She was able to secure the 2nd place position with a very respectable dressage test, double clear stadium jump, and clear cross country round only acquiring a handful of time. Next stop, September Twin Rivers with the hopes of completing their second Prelim together! Good luck Sophie and Vida!

Our barn family has been dealt a terrible loss. Clare’s wonderful Juniper was lost to a sudden colic and was unable to be saved despite the best efforts of the many vets involved. If you knew Juniper, you know what we are feeling right now. If you’ve ever known and loved an incredibly generous and kind soul like him…you know what we’re feeling right now. He made a huge impact on a lot of people in the course of his too short life and we were so lucky to have him as a part of ours.

He was VERY loved by a number of riders who had built bonds with him over his many years as a teacher, lesson horse and lease horse. He was the go-to safe, but still challenging horse that all barns wish they had for people to learn on safely. He was kind. He was genuine. He was just one of the best horses on earth and he’s going to be dearly missed. We feel so thankful for the time that he was with us and are grateful to Clare for sharing his special talents with us for so many years. 💔

Team BEST continues to be busy as can be and turned out to support California Dressage Society - East Bay Chapter's Virtual Show in July with 5 rides. Two of those ended up being High Points (Mia and Dandy and Brenda and Willa). Thank you CDS East Bay for hosting these wonderful schooling show opportunities for us to use to prepare for our recognized shows!

Brenda and Willa were the High Point of the show with a 70.589% at Training Level. They’re the current leaders for the CDS EB High Point Award. They were also the Open Level High Point. Mia and Dandy had a super test at Training Level for a solid 64.20% and the Jr/Young Rider High Point for the sh...

A bit of a wild show...but it was a great success for Rachel and Jax! And that's their show season wrapped up! Thanks Donner Huf Dressage / Heidi Gaian for judging a super fun Champaign class! 😉 Lots of fun was had.

Rachel and Jax were the only pair to venture over to Woodside this year due to untimely injuries for horses and riders…but they made the best of it. It was a little bit of a wild show with music problems for Rachel and scheduling issues which led us to be there for many hours longer than we’d pl...

Only Brenda and Trevor made the trip down to Dancing Kings this weekend to continue their quest for qualifying for All Breeds for their 4th level Freestyle. They had good tests for both their freestyle and PSG tests with two good scores to add to their tally for All Breeds!

The "4th of July" Yarra Yarra Show was a bit early this year landing at the end of June. It was a busy show for us with lots of pairs showing at lots of different levels. Everyone had good rides and good learning experiences.

Special congrats to Willa and Brenda. They were the show's Barons High Point for their 1st Level Test 3 with a 71.389%.

Rachel and Jax finished her last freestyle ride to earn her USDF Bronze Freestyle Bar with a 71.579%.

June Yarra Yarra was a busy show for us with lots of pairs going to work on various goals. First off in the morning was Rachel and Jax. They were going out with one goal this show: to earn their last score towards Rachel’s Bronze Freestyle Bar. They managed to not only earn their score…but far s...

Only one pair made the journey up to CNDC for this weekend’s show.

Rachel and Jax finished their last 3rd Level Freestyle score for their Bronze Bar. Only one score left to go (which they will be attempting to get this weekend at Yarra Yarra). Jax was a very good boy this trip (almost too relaxed). There were a few costly mistakes, but things were learned!

It was a beautiful and well run show (as always) and we had a great time and look forward to being back in November and continuing to support this show location.

We had a great time going out to CNDC for shows both Friday and Sunday with a lot of Team BEST riding. Lisa and Josephine showed up to support and help on Sunday as well and we really appreciate that! We also had the best horse show moms on hand in Renee and Kelly who were there to help make the day easier. It was a fantastic show with lots of learning all around and some really nice rides and we're looking forward to the next one!

We took a big group to Yarra Yarra this month. We’re all missing their reduction in shows badly…with everyone trying to go to the few we do have, it made for a busy show for us.

There were some ups and downs for all of us, but also some great results and a lot of learning! It was a great show and we're looking forward to the next one! Thank you everyone for helping each other out. Great team work!

We took a big group to Yarra Yarra this month. We’re all missing their reduction in shows badly…with everyone trying to go to the few we do have, it made for a busy show for us.
