We have some good news! Garcia has left the hospital! We were all comfortable after he spent over a week in the hospital sending him to an experienced foster home that is close to them should he need to go back. This little guy is so determined and he had no problem telling us all about it. He even stood and did his business when we arrived at his fosters house. He quickly curled up as soon as he got there and went to sleep. Exciting adventure and also exhausting for him at the same time. So now he rests, saves his calories and continues to move forward.

Yesterday Garcia had a special visitor from News 12. It was very kind of them to take the time with us and to meet our little man. We truly appreciate the outpouring of support. A few hours after they left, Garcias blood sugar did drop and he had to go back on dextrose. He is getting stronger and is trying to get up but he just isn't there quite yet. As of yesterday we surpassed the $10,000 mark in care. Please continue to share. As an organization that runs solely on donations we need all the help we can get right now. We’re grateful to the reporter who shared Garcia’s story, and we’re able to help spread the word about the terrible neglect this sweet baby endured. 💔
By sharing his journey, we hope to not only bring light to the suffering Garcia has faced but also to give strength to others — if you know of animal abuse or neglect, please have the courage to come forward and report it.
Most importantly, we are still hoping that someone will recognize Garcia and provide information on his owners. This is the only way we can move forward with filing charges and holding them accountable.
Garcia deserves justice. 🐾❤️

Garcia was found as a stray in horrific conditions after being nearly starved to death in Philadelphia.

** GARCIA IS AND HAS BEEN ADMITTED TO Crown Veterinary Specialists and Emergency SINCE ARRIVAL"

Yes it is hard to watch. To see a baby in this condition, to hear the way he is breathing. Garcia is fighting and we are going to fight right along with him. Today he needed a blood transfusion and the costs are mounting very quickly. When we say quickly, his bill is over $6000 at this point and climbing. One thing we will never do is make a judgement call based on money as long as he wants to keep fighting. He is eating and after his transfusion was able to lift his head. He is far from out of the woods yet and still critical. Should it become a quality of life issue we will then have a discussion. Our doctors are pretty darn honest with us and would let us know for sure if continuing wasn't the right thing to do. We have been here before with several other dogs who needed time. Garcia will get that.

Just a quick update on Garcia! He is currently receiving his second plasma transfusion. While he is stable right now he is far from being out of the woods. We are treating his eyes also for an ulcer in one and infections in both. Please keep our little fighter in your thoughts and prayers. If you are able to donate we could use all the help we can get.
