For all you Husky lovers out there, meet 4 month old Maeve! She was surrendered with her sister after being given away for not selling on social media. Maeve is a super go lucky happy girl who loves to do nothing but kiss. She is learning all the things about being a really good girl. She is super smart with a ton of energy. She is dog friendly, good with kids. She is already very curious about cats - has been good but thinks chasing is a sport.

We want to put this right out there - if you do not know what you are getting into with this breed or have no experience please do not apply for her or her sister. This is a breed that requires A LOT of exercise, needs a job, and are known to be escape artists. If you fit the bill and are looking to add to your family just visit our website https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1 to apply

** We are not accepting any further applications at this time **
Kimchi wants everyone to know that her butt has stayed right where it belongs since her surgery and she is ready for a forever home. This 5 month old Pug girl is what we would call a typical pug - ball of energy who wants to be the life of the party! So much so she wants to be in all your business, your neighbors business and your dogs business. She is a busy body of sorts! She would love to have a pal who can hang and party hard. She is a social eater and shares her toys. She ideally should go to a Pug experienced home as these brachycephalic dogs do require attention, like easily overheating in the weather. She loves to learn so someone who is willing to continue with her training.

Kimchi will be making an appearance at our event this Sunday beginning at 11am to 2pm at Barkley's Marketplace - Flemington NJ. Stop on by and meet her and some other adoptable pups!

If you are looking to apply you must live within 2 hours of the Lehigh Valley, PA area within NJ or PA. Any application submitted outside of this will not be responded to. Please understand we are a volunteer team and our time is valuable.

Vader is ready for a home to call his own. He is a major ham and knows how to work a room. He is all recovered from FHO surgery and is back to playing like a puppy. We will continue his weekly visit to physical therapy as long as he stays with us to keep him moving forward. Vader is good with other dogs, housebroken and crate trained. He is about 7 months old. When we were at ACCT picking up a broken chi pup this handsome boy caught our eye. What we loved was how happy he was walking down the hall with the staff greeting everyone he met. We then found out he had been adopted as a puppy a year ago from there and recently returned due to no fault of his own - landlord issues. His shelter name was Dahlia but it didn't fit so we have renamed him Brian. He is just over a year old and about 40lbs. Did you see those ears?? Brian was a rockstar in the group play at the shelter and loved all the dogs. He even got to go out on day trips. Needless to say we went back to get him that day and he has been in foster care since. Brian will be looking for an active and fun home.

Let's find Brian his forever home! Visit our website to apply https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1

About to break Facebook with this cuteness! Meet Pho! This 5 month old boy was surrendered to us last week after having his 2nd re**al prolapse. He was all fixed up thanks to VEG in Union and has been started on the proper medications to treat him for both Giardia and Coccidia. Pho is showing what a really great boy he is. He is going to be with us for a bit since these parasites can be a real pain in the rear (no pun intended) to get rid of so we will not be accepting applications on him at this time. He does however need some supplies to keep his bum clean as he is in the messy stage of a re**al prolapse repair. If you would like to send him some items, here is his wishlist https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1ZRYIHX23PLPF?ref_=wl_share

Thanks and we will be sure to post when he is ready for applications!

Meet Joe Exotic! This handsome tiger boy is 4 months old, 22 lbs right now and came to us a couple weeks ago from ACCT, Philly after being found as a stray. He is probably one of the best puppies we have ever had. He is lovable, snuggly, loves other dogs and enjoys playing with everyone. He is neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines and microchipped.

If you are interested in applying to adopt Joe, just visit our website https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1 to submit an application!

Hammi is back from his adventure at board and train with Above the Standard Dog Training He went down to Florida about 2 months ago after his foster had some concerns over his reactions to objects and other dogs. After going through the trauma he did, allowing a dog time to heal physically and most importantly mentally is key to success. We learned so much about him and he wasn't actually reactive, just uncertain.

Here is what Emily from training had to say about him - "Hammi can be a little shy with new people, mostly men ,but gets over it pretty quickly and is super sweet. He can absolutely live with another dog, probably a female would be best but I had zero issues with him with multiple dogs. He’s lower energy, doesn’t require a ton of activity. House and crate trained, off leash trained, his manners and obedience are nice. Good in the car travels well. Loves food and treats and marrow bones, knows the treadmill. Not overly excited about toys but he’ll play with them. Zero issues with handling, grooming, no resource issues. Loves to hike and doesn't like the water. He’s a good boy!"

It's time to find this ACCT, Philly survivor a forever home. Hammi is about 2 years old. He is really an amazing dog who beat the odds after almost starving to death. Now let's find him a place to call forever. If you are interested in applying to adopt Hammi just visit our website https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1 to apply

It's $5 Friday and this is going to be a long one as we have a lot going on. We really need help! Over the past few weeks we have been inundated with medical cases. Not just ordinary cases, MAJOR MEDICAL CASES! Some we have been able to post already and the others we will get to in this post. Sadly, unless we can raise some funds to pay down some of our expenses, we will not be able to take any new medical cases right now.

Meet our new medical cases!

Sunshine - This situation is disappointing as this 8 month old was sitting in a rescue facility in Stewartsville, NJ placed up for adoption knowing there was something wrong with her leg. She had advocates who adopted her and turned her over to us. Not only was she adopted with a broken leg and MPL on the other, she was also adopted intact and then went into heat a few weeks later. She is currently at Crown Vet being prepped for surgery. Sadly, her leg has to be re-broken so it can be aligned properly. This could have been avoided if they had just done an x-ray and splinted her leg to heal properly.

Wooly - This handsome little land seal came to us from ACCT, Philly about 4 weeks ago with a urinary blockage. We don't even know where to begin with his story but we are not certain what his fate is moving forward as he is very sick. Wooly had stones that needed to be surgically removed. He spent almost 2 weeks in the hospital and is now in kidney failure. He was readmitted today because he has stopped eating and has lost 6+ pounds since his discharge. Woolys bill is over $20,000 at this point. Our hearts are breaking for him.

Cupid (new name to come!) - came to us on Tuesday from ACCT, Philly. Just a 4 month old baby! What we thought would be an easy fracture repair on his hind leg has turned into the typical "We know how to pick them!" As Cupid was being examined for surgery, a big heart murmur was discovered. Leg surgery had to be postponed because he is going to need heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart. For now he is in a splint as fixing his heart is the priority.

Kimchi- This adorable 6 month old pug was surrendered last night for a re**al prolapse. She is a happy go lucky girl who had her repair last night. We have started her right on meds as this typically happens in young dogs if they have a parasite overload. Paws crossed for Kimchi that this is indeed the root cause and she will not reprolapse. Should that happed, she will have another procedure called a colopexy where the colon is permanently sutured to the abdominal wall.

Last but not least - our newborns. We worked with Philly Bully after they were contacted about 2 babies found in a box. They arrived at just a day old with their umbilical cords still attached. One of the boys hind paw was swollen and the skin was falling off. We suspect either frostbite or a strangulation injury. He has been placed on antibiotics but has already lost one of his toes. We are trying to save the remaining.

Just from these recent dogs, we are sure you can imagine how we are a bit panicked over expenses. Having this many new medical cases plus the other ones really puts us in a position. First, it ties up our foster homes making it hard to accept new dogs if we do not have openings. Second, the expenses. Everything is so expensive these days and we are certainly feeling that. Yes, our vets are wonderful and give us discounts. They take amazing care of our dogs and we cannot thank them all enough for helping.

Now we need help, lots of help with donations. This is a point we have not been in for a very long time and it's kinda scary. Please consider donating today. Donations can be sent in via Venmo to outcast-rescue or via the link below. We appreciate all of you and if you cannot donate please share or ask someone you know who can.. Thank you all so much! Please keep our medical pups in your thoughts.

Today's cuteness alert is brought to you by our very own Juno! We welcomed this girl with her brother Cam a few months ago. She is was in terrible condition and extremely emaciated. After being nursed back to health by her foster family we can fast forward to today and say we are happy to be accepting applications for this gem. Juno is about 7 months old and almost 30 lbs. She is going to be a tiny girl. She is great with other dogs. She is a chow hound and we can't blame her on that one so she must eat her meals separate from other animals. She can be pushy with other dogs but so far it has all been in play. Her favorite thing to do after some hard playing out in the yard is to snuggle up with her humans for a good snooze.

Do you want to add this amazing girlie to your family? Just visit our website at https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1 to apply

Well will you take a look at Akira!! From almost being murdered by the hands of a gun wielding lunatic, who killed her brother and shot her 3 times, to a stoic beauty who is now looking for her forever home. Akira is a big girl and is estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old.

Here is what her foster family has to say about her -

Akira is very sweet and loving
She is crate trained but doesn’t love it during the day (due to crate rest) but will sleep in it at night no problems.
Great with the children
Great with the dogs
Housebroken
Good with cats but does want to play with them.
Protective in the sense she will alert when someone is at the door
She is a bit shy when you meet her and it takes her a hot second to warm up to people
She’s a strong puller on the leash, so she needs some work on it now that she is off crate rest. She is ready to get the exercise she has been waiting for!

If you are interested in applying to adopt Akira, just visit our website to submit an application https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1

We feel like we keep posting about dogs growing up in rescue. We thought it was just us but it seems to be a 'thing.' All three of these pups have been here for some time, Sky being our longest resident. We don't want them to be overlooked because of black dog syndrome. Please share and let's find them the forever they deserve. To apply visit our website https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1

Pogo (photo 1)- came to us a couple of months ago as a stray in Philly. He is a 6 months old pit bull mix. Loves people and other animals. He is neutered, housebroken, crate trained, microchipped and up to date on this years vaccines. He enjoys going for walks and playing with toys.

Zeebo (photo 2) - came to us as a 5 week old puppy with the siblings after suffering at the hands of an abuser. He is now 8.5 months old and we just don't get it. When you initially meet him, he is shy but does warm up quickly. He needs a moment to settle and feel comfortable but once he does that nub tail just goes crazy. Zeebo is great with other dogs and ideally we would like to see him in a home with another. We also would like to see him in a Corso experienced home with a family who understands and respects this breed. Zeebo enjoys walks and playing!

Sky (photo 3) - this beautiful pittie girl came to us when she was just 7 weeks old and is now 1 year and 10 months old... She was a happy go lucky puppy who absolutely loved other dogs until she went to a foster to adopt and was attacked by a family members dog as a young pup. Since then she is leery of other dogs. She does currently live with her sister and they do well together. We do believe with the right fit, she can be with another dog providing someone is willing to put the time into a proper shutdown with proper intros over time. She would be happiest as a one and only and no cats for her.

A month ago we welcome former mill mom Ducky the 5 year old Cockapoo. She was surrendered to us from a Lancaster farm after they were done with breeding her, therefore, had no further use for her. Ducky has been a really great girl even though she is a little shy. She has learned to walk on leash and loves to be with other smaller dogs. She enjoys the kids in home as well as the adults. Ducky came to us with a horrendous case of dental disease. After dental X-rays and dental surgery she only has 4 teefers left in her mouth. BUT she is much more comfortable now. Ducky has been vaccinated, chipped and spayed. We are looking for a home who enjoys smaller breed dogs that will have the patience and understanding of an adult dog coming from a puppy mill. She will not disappoint you, she is a very loving girl.

If you are interested in applying to adopt her, please submit an application at https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1

3 weeks ago we welcomed 4 month old Freddie the Standard Poodle as one of our newest Outcasts. Freddie was surrendered from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster after he could not be sold due to issues with his hind legs. Yesterday he had what is called femoral head ostectomy (FHO) surgery which involves removing the head and neck of the femur. His surgery was successful and he is back in his foster home tonight recovering. Once his sutures are out, he will begin physical therapy. So far he has been a dream to have with us and is dog friendly. He is a bit of a goofball and it's what makes his personality so amazing. We are hoping to begin to accept applications on him in about 4-5 weeks.

On March 13th we welcome little MJ from PSPCA. She is just a baby at 4 months old and endured the most horrific abuse. MJ came to us with 3 broken legs as well as several healed fractured ribs. Before we posted for help, we wanted to be sure that she wasn't born with a genetic issue causing her bones to be brittle but the test was negative for all 237 genetic markers. This happened at the hands of a human - a monster! Imagine the suffering this poor girl went through all by the person who was supposed to love and care for her for life. She had been in splints for the past few weeks as her legs heal and she has been on pain meds as well as crate rest. She will see the surgeon again on Tuesday and we will have a surgery date then for one of her hind legs. MJ has a very long road ahead of her and we need your help. Through it all, MJ has been a loving puppy who just wants to do puppy things (even though she can't right now). Please consider donating to her mounting medical expenses. Donations can be made through Venmo to outcast-rescue, via our website www.outcastrescue.com or via the link below. Thank you and please keep her in your thoughts.

PSPCA does have an active investigation and charges pending against the owner.

Meet Pretzel!! This 6 year old Frenchie spent her life on an Amish farm pumping out puppies for profit. Well those days are over and she was surrendered to us since they had no further use for her. She has the biggest eyes and adorable snaggle tooth. She is a lover of all people big and small. She has been enjoying the attention she is getting and prefers to be at your feet or in your lap. First time living in a home and she is catching on to the housebreaking thing but will occasionally have an accident. She doesn't mind playing with the other dogs in the home or being by herself chewing a bone. She is a bit too curious about cats so a kitty free home please. She is pretty comfortable in a crate but does prefer to be in your line of sight.

We are now accepting applications on her. If you are interested please visit our website https://www.outcastrescue.com/adoption-form-1 to submit an application
