Today has been quite the day. Checked the camera at 530, no babies, wife went in at 8, and I hear on the camera “babies” so up and out I go. Truffle was already done with 7 bacon bits. 5 boars and 2 gilts. Trixie seemed like she may have been nesting, but not too bad, so Sam & I ran into town, get home after being gone for 1.5hr, and we have more babies. Trixie ended with 5, 4 boars and a gilt, however one boar was DOA. We now have 17 babies on the ground. These last 2 litters were not planned, but here we are and they are gorgeous. After seeing the babies, I am pretty confident that Whiskey was busy the week of April 13-24

We have babies! Checked the camera at 0445 and there were two babes already out. By 0515 she had all 7 babies out.

Ms Maple had her beautiful maiden litter of 4 gilts, 3 boars,and despite Maple being unwattled, ALL are double wattled! Whiskey, our Ru boar from the wonderful Denise at Snake Doctor Homestead is daddy to these gorgeous little bacon bits.

These past few have been absolutely insane and friends, family and social media have gotten out on the back burner. This past week 3 of Joanie’s babies have all made it to their new farms. Two boarlings stayed semi local in Virginia and our sweet gilt traveled all the way to Florida! This litter has been one of our favorites and was definitely harder to let go but I know they are all gonna be spoiled. Moon Bug, Diesel and Edward, we can’t wait to watch you grow from afar 🥰

These babies are three weeks today and have completely stolen my heart. The majority of this group are so adventurous. There’s a trio of the 5 that likes to run off to the big unknown of the yard while the other two prefer to nap in tree stump.

These babies turn 2 weeks old this past Sunday. We did weights and the biggest is just shy of 9LBS and the smallest just shy of 7! We were shocked there was the much of a difference between them because they all seem pretty close.

Poor Joanie, I can’t imagine her being able to get any bigger. Poor girl is about to bust. She possibly has 13 more days to go still.

Joanie has decided being a mom just doesn’t sound fun so I think she is refusing to let them out. Her last possible due date is the 18th, although we were confident it would be sooner. Right now her and I are both dreaming of far off lands as beached whales, laying in the sun with a cool ocean breeze and no one else around.

For reference, Sam is about 5’6”, apparently so is this snake. No, we did not kill the snake, Sam found it in the road and decided she needed to come show us what slithered away from our yard

Luv Nugs momma had to work tonight so we got to steal the babe for the night. YaYa & Abuela love seeing how excited he gets to see all the animals. He loves giving kisses and collecting the goose eggs for the incubator (we love it too since clearly you need to be corgi size to fit through 😆)

Cleaning out the farrowing barn and Ms Joanie says she is too pregnant to move! About a week left and we will see what little beauties she is cookin in there. She is definitely slowing down as time gets closer

This is Clover, our Tutanekai boar. As a piglet he had the most beautiful curls and I hoped they’d stay. They’ve relaxed a little, but not by much. I can wait to pair him with one of girls and see what he has to offer.

Ok, we have two little bacon seeds searching for greener pastures. Both these boarlings are Ru/TaruTaru (DNA pending). Both boys are unwattled, 6/6 even teats and great dispositions. Born 2/19/24 and will be ready in a couple weeks. PM with any questions.

Farm announcement:

After lots and lots of thoughts and family disputes, we have decided that Hippie Piggie Farm Farms will be getting renamed. Over the next few days or so we will be updating our page and hopefully getting a website going. We have been working on so many things around here lately it finally feels like it’s all coming together. AKKPS & ADGA has already been updated and moving forward we will be renamed:
