7/24/24 If you can foster Jumby, there is a rescue that can take him in! But they can't do it without a foster!! email [email protected] ASAP! ~Lisa

Jumby is Jazzy!

Jumby is a gorgeous 11-12 year old Maine C**n mix living in Richmond, Virginia. Recently, Jumby was diagnosed with diabetes, and given his folk’s current circumstances (relocation across the country), they are unable to provide him with the care and attention he deserves.

Jumby is a bigger cat, currently 8 lbs but is usually a 12-14 lb cat at a good weight usually. Big nose and paws, suppperrrr soft and fluffy and adorable!!! He has been fantastic with the young children and has adapted well to changes in the household.

He is an extremely sweet and kind cat, the sweetest cat ever. Jumby enjoys belly rubs, warm spots, scratching posts, and lots of pets. He's shy but loves affection and is okay with being held. He loves strangers, which is adorable and lovesssss pets and rubs! He has the cutest purr in the world! Jumby does well with other cats and has been great with children, including babies. He's also passed shelter tests with cats and dogs.

His folks need to find Jumby a loving home by mid August where he will receive the attention, care, and affection he deserves. If you or anyone you know might be interested in giving Jumby a forever home, please don't hesitate to contact [email protected].

7/25/24 URGENT!! Hamilton, Ontario Canada, Salem needs a new foster ASAP!! Seems he likes to talk a lot, and his current foster's building management wants him out! Please ema [email protected] if you can foster him!

4/10/24 (Date of DCIN’s first post)
Salem is extra Sweet!

Salem is an incredibly sweet boy who's looking for a new foster or his furever home. He is up for adoption through Abandoned Cats Rescue (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada). His current foster mom is heartbroken to give him up. Unfortunately, her own senior cat doesn't like him, despite several attempts at introductions, and as a result he's cooped up in a bedroom for long periods of time. This isn't Salems fault... he's actually very friendly with other cats. Her own cat is experiencing health issues and in her old age she's become less willing to tolerate other cats in her space. She would love to keep him forever, but this situation isn't ideal for him.

Salem has had a rough life but that hasn't changed his loving personality. He had been surrendered to a shelter by his previous owner. Once at the shelter he was diagnosed with diabetes, and for many shelter cats that's a death sentence. He was slated for euthanasia but Abandoned Cats Rescue stepped in to save him and he's been thriving here in his foster home. His diabetes is well controlled with a combination of food and medication, and he's certainly not letting it get in the way of living! He's very playful and an absolute snuggle bug.

His hobbies include watching cat videos on YouTube, getting belly rubs, chasing the elusive laser pointer, having his ears massaged and attempting to groom his foster mom (my hair is a little too long but he tries). He had a few teeth extracted at the shelter, which doesn't impact his eating.

Salem has so much love to give, and his foster hopes that someone will give him the second chance that he deserves. If you are falling in love with Salem and can adopt, or even foster, please contact [email protected]!!

7/5/24 URGENT! Whitmore Lake, Michigan (near Ann Arbor) Bo and Peep need a home together! Bo is diabetic, Peep is not!

Bo and Peep need a new home urgently, ideally together, but not imperative. They are 13 years young. Their mom is 90 and having end of life issues. No relatives want them. She is trying to find a home for them now so they don’t get euthanized when she dies.

Bo and Peep are brother and sister Russian Blues, but do not have papers. They are healthy other than the diabetes for Bo, who needs insulin and testing daily. Bo is very easy to treat, and is calm, funny, and smart.

The best possible scenario is someone willing to take both Bo and his sister. But it would be wonderful to find someone to save him and Peep for the rest of their natural lives. They need an owner who understands and knows their part - and loves cats.

If you are falling in love with Bo and Peep, please email [email protected] ASAP!!

7/24/24 EMERGENCY NEED!! Seneca, South Carolina!! Rosie needs a new home!

This is Rosie aka Rusty (white cat). He was diagnosed with diabetes about 6 months ago and his folks are no longer able to afford his care. His diabetes is managed with Senvelgo (liquid once a day). His folks have gotten another month of medication. Euthanasia is on the table if they can’t find a home for him. He gets along well with dogs and cats.

Rosie (male, neutered) showed up a few years ago, and they were unable to find his owner. He started losing weight and being very hungry and was then diagnosed with diabetes. They have tried to care for him appropriately but can’t afford his care anymore with other pets and a baby on the way.

Rosie loves going outside and running in the grass. He enjoys the company of the other cat and tolerates the dog. He will get into food if it is left out on the counter, so keep everything put away in cabinets! He is a sweet cat and is only about 4 years old, and his folks really don’t want to have to put him to sleep.

Please email [email protected] ASAP!!

***Please keep comments and emails civil directed towards finding Rosie a new home!*** ~Lisa

9/22/24 Yay! on 9/12 the SPCA of Anne Arundel County posted that Pooh Bear has been adopted and is adjusting fast!! ~Lisa

7/24/24 (Date of DCIN’s first post)
Pooh Bear is precious!

Meet Pooh Bear! This 10 year old sweet heart came to SPCA of Anne Arundel County (Annapolis, Maryland) when his family was losing their home. They aren't sure what happened in his past but he is blind. This doesn't stop him from being super affectionate and playful though! He has lived with other cats (Anastasia) and a small dog before and was reported to do well with them, although he can be a bit rough at times. His family describes him as friendly, playful, affectionate, and smart, and said that sometimes he will sleep in your arms with his head on your shoulder. How sweet!

Pooh Bear will need a special family to take him in and love him for the rest of his days. He will require sensitivity to his condition and extra time to adjust to new situations and learn his surroundings. He has recently been diagnosed as diabetic. He eats a prescription diet and takes a once daily pill to help manage his condition.

Pooh Bear is living with a foster family at the moment so he can be settled in one place. Please reach out to the Adoption Counselors to meet him. He would absolutely love to have a person (or family) to call his own.

If you are interested in meeting him, apply today! https://aacspca.org/adopt-a-pet/ (Animal ID 55761747)
