As we move from spring to summer, please keep in mind that lilies are toxic to kitties!
Many parts of lilies can be toxic to a cat and at worst cause kidney failure and even death. If your cat has come in contact with a lily, please call the animal poison control hotline at #888-426-4435 and they will be able to tell you the next steps depending on your pets unique situation. Also call your nearest pet ER hospital to bring them in.
Lilys are no joke! If you have a cat and lily’s in your home, throw out the lily’s as soon as possible!
And remember,
No lilies for kitties!

Did you know that less than 10% of the pets that are unchipped will return home each year?

A microchip is a secure, reliable, permanent identification for your pet and the process is simple and affordable. Microchipping your pet can help ensure that if your pet goes missing, they can be identified and find their way back to you.

If your pet is chipped, make sure their information is up to date. To help keep pets close to their loved ones, share this post and remind your friends to !

🤧 Uh oh, you might not be the only one in your house dealing with allergies!

Pets may be susceptible to seasonal and environmental allergies. Thankfully, there are several treatment options available.

Common symptoms our patients exhibit include excessive itching, red/inflamed skin, as well as recurring ear infections.

Is your pet scooting or licking their rear? It could be their a**l glands.

A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.

Soft, consistent stool, as well as allergies, are common causes of irritation. If your pet is scooting, licking excessively, or showing signs of discomfort around their rear end, contact us! We will help to identify the cause and determine the best course of treatment.

This month’s staff spotlight is Dr.Flynn!
She is a well rounded Doctor who always sticks to her “guns” . She loves to hike and play board games in her free time along with her 2 dogs ( marvel and Indy) and 1 cat, misdemeanor or “missy” for short. You’ll often find her teaching her dog Marvel a new trick or two or taking her cat out for a walk at lunch.

“Hi! I grew up in Montgomery County and attended UMBC for my undergraduate studies. I went to veterinary school at Cornell University. After graduating in 2009, I returned to Maryland and eventually we settled back in Catonsville in 2011. I have been so happy to return to this community!

My professional interests include surgery, dentistry and behavior.
I live with my husband, 2 dogs and one cat. In my free time I love hiking and camping. I compete with all my dogs in scent detection sports and love staying active with them. I am@looking forward to getting to know all the fantastic clients and pets at Frederick Road!”
