Valco is such a good snuggle buddy!
He's clearly great with kids π
Stop by Petco in Columbia to meet this sweet boy and his siblings!
No-Kill foster system for abused, neglected, abandoned, stray, feral & homeless animals. Located throughout MD.
(31)
We help animals in dire situations such as running up and down highways or living in sewer systems. We work in areas that are too dangerous for original TNR programs, such as busy roadways, in neglected parts of the city, or in buildings scheduled to be demolished. We go the extra mile that other people and groups won't. We have years of personal experience with house cats, stray cats, feral cats,
abused & abandoned dogs, small animals, farm animals, and even a lot of volunteer work with wild animals and exotic animals. We are dedicated to bettering the lives of any animal that is unwanted or homeless. Through rescue, rehab, adoption and spay and neuter we strive to lessen the number of animals that suffer from abuse and neglect. We will treat every and any animal as family from the moment it comes in to our care and forever more. Any animal once rescued by us is welcome back any time later in the future, no matter what.

Emergency intake!!
Incoming is a momma and her 3 newborns. 2 were just saved by Emergency C-section at Howard Co vets. Mommas labor had stalled, resulting in a sucks kitten that didn't make it.
Unfortunately, momma is very young, so it's been hard on everyone, but they seem to be recovering well.
This is just another example of why we need people like YOU to foster the rescued kitties!
If you are able to help with funds for the surgery and hospital visit, please donate today!
Happy belated birthday to our newest litter of rescued kittens! Momma Thamanya has 8, yes that's EIGHT, healthy and happy kittens!!
πΈ π± π½ π±π½ π»πΈπ
5 orange tabbies. 4 are boys, 1 is a girl.
1 gray tabby boy.
1 brown tabby boy.
1 Torbi girl.
All appear to be short hair.
And everyone is doing great! Momma is super affectionate, friendly and doing an amazing job!!
Zoe is the last of the Z litter kittens!!
Super affectionate. Always purring. Outgoing and curious. She's Grrrrreat with kids! Zoe is not a fan of dogs, but she could learn to love them with slow proper introduction. She is currently featured at Petco in Ellicott City!
Momma Darwin is perfect for quieter families with older kids or grandkids that visit. She loves to just chill and hang out, sunbathe, and nap. But she ALWAYS is down for a good brushing!

These scratching toy towers at Petco Ellicott City are Zoe approved!!
Clive is such a sweet foster Dad to Apple! They were not rescued together, but Clive has helped foster, care for, and socialize Apple while he's been in rescue. Apple was born in the streets near an Applebee's π π, hence the name.
Clive is FIV positive. He was going to be euthanized by the vet when we TNRed him through BARCS upon their request. However, we know that FIV cats can live full, happy, healthy lives. So we brought him in to foster. He quickly showed us his gratitude and became a sweet boy, loving and playful. Of course, also an amazing foster Dad to the kittens!
In the comments, you will find our website, and a link about adopting kitties with FIV.
Clive decided that the bed is a very nice place to hang out!
Given fb "sensitivities" these days, we covered his private area including his remaining "trouble nuggets" ... yes, he's been fixed π
Put in your application to adopt this sweet boy on our website!
β οΈ π’ π¨ FOSTER FAMILIES NEEDED!!
Friendly Momma and four about 4 mo kittens are living at a mechanic shop in Elkridge. They are safe and happy temporarily, but longterm, they NEED vetting and indoor forever families to be safe and loved in.
Unfortunately, ASHA doesn't have any open fosters at this moment, so we are reaching out to our community to find a foster family to help rescue the little kitty family.
ASHA can provide all needed foster supplies (food, litter, toys, etc.) and covers all vet expenses. We NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU to provide them with a save, loving foster family until adoption. Provide transport as needed to vet visits, adoption events, and the like. Fosters do require a room with a closed door to stay in, especially during acclimation the first 2-4 weeks.
If you are interested in helping this furry little family, please fill out a foster application online! Our website link will be in the comments.
Mr. Mayor is looking better but still has a long road to fully recover. His stomatitis is still flaring even after removing all the infected teeth. Unfortunately for him that means a mouthful of sores. As you can imagine, it's really uncomfortable, causing him to still drool a ton and not groom himself.
Dr. Parker is starting him on Prednisolone to reduce the inflammation. So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. This sweet boy has been through so much already and deserves to be happy and healthy..
Wishbone is pitching in at the register at the EC Petco while he waits for his forever family to come check him out!
Korra's Saturday is looking up if someone will adopt this sweet tortoiseshell. She's a young adult who likes pets, play, napping, food and her furry mice toys. She hopes to get her own home soon!
She is spayed, up to date on all her shots, and ready to go to her furever home.
We have dozens of cats of all ages in rescue right now, so the featured feline enclosures at Petco Ellicott City are never empty for long!
Stop by and meet Zach & Zane! Brothers raised in rescue, fully vetted, super social, and ready to find their forever families!
Van (rescued and for adoption!) was just chilling to and from the vet appointment today. We had a crate, but he was happy to just be on the harness and held.
Another day. Another vet visit.
Today is Van's turn. Slight upper respiratory infection. With the antibiotic meds, he should back to tip-top shape in no time!
Until then, he won't be at Petco in EC, though. He will be back in foster.
Mr. Mayor is at .vet today getting his dental. 8 teeth need to be removed!
His skin is looking so much better after the nasty mites. He's such a sweet boy and tolerates all the treatments very well. He loves getting brushed, and now, after his dental today, he can start grooming himself again!
If you are able and willing to donate to his $$$$ dental today, please and thank you! Your generosity is absolutely appreciated. Link in the comments.
According to many Howard County officials, we don't have a feral / community cat problem.
Well, we know that's fiction!
These 2 full-grown cats are full feral cats from Columbia that need TNR (Trap, Neuter/spay, Return/relocate/rehome). Thankfully, these 2 have a cared for colony they can return to once fully vetted.
We will make sure they get the whole package. Spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, flea/tick prevention, FVRCP vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, and Exam.
Working with a new Howard County Cat rescue helps us help the community cats and build a strong network of amazing like-minded people!

UPDATE! 7/21 pm These 2
cuties are sisters! meet Rosie the
Riviter & Reba Macentire! they
are 1.14 #, so about 5-6 weeks.
once they are 8 weeks & 2lbs
they are ready for adoption!
Rosie, the black tuxedo, has
some foggy to her left eye- like
due to an untreated URI that
affected her eye. without proper
care and rescue intervention, she
could have ended up losing the
eye, or worse. thank you to
Lisa for being an amazing colony
caretaker!!

Hey all
As always, it's still kitten season!...
Is anyone interested in becoming a foster?!
ASHA is a foster system with some cats at a couple of pet stores, but no facility. So we rely on our amazing foster families' dedication to the rescued animals to help us help the animals in need.
ASHA provides all supplies as needed, covers all medical expenses, and just needs you to transport as needed to/from vet visits and events. Socialize the kitties so they learn to love and trust people. And do daily care of the cats, of course!
We have vets that work with us in Ellicott City, Laurel, and Towson, so being within a reasonable driving distance of one of them is ideal.
These kitties are from feral community colonies throughout our Maryland neighborhoods, just like yours.
π’π’π’ FUNDRAISING ANNOUNCEMENT!!
To help raise funds for the endless black hole that is vet bills, we (thanks to Jessica, ASHA's President and Founder) are posting items for sale that have been donated by we as a rescue have not used regularly, in several years or items we do not need.
Typically, we try to pass such items on to those in need that can use them. But at this time, our need for funds to cover vet expenses is greater.
Please share and message Jessica if you would like to purchase any of the items we have posted.
There are many more items to come!!
Pick up only in Elkridge MD.

Mr. Mayor is mite free!!
He was the kitty that was dumped at the Howard County Fairgrounds. One of the recent ones that is. π€¬
After weeks of revolution treatments, we were worried there was more going on.
Our precautionary fungal treatments were not showing us the results we wanted in his healing journey. So,we are checking for fungal infections today.
Fingers crossed, we hope it's not something else, and we can heal him up with a week or 2 worth of daily oatmeal baths to soothe his skin. And antibiotics to help heal his sores.
But then he also needs a dental...
Mayor is THE SWEETEST KITTY, so once he heals up, he will be so b ready for a forever family that will treat him right!
One of our current fosters is the sweetest thing, but she's not feeling well π
Last night, we started her on antibiotics and gave her appetite stim., sub-q fluids and some high calorie treats because she is just not interested in eating. Even when we put a whole variety bowl down for her.
Momma Boo (or Beta as her foster likes to call her) is FeLV +. With the fever still going up this morning, she is on the way to getting checked out at the vet. It won't be a cheap visit, so if you can help donate to ASHA, it will do a world of good π

Thank you letters, snacks, hydrating, caffeine, and sugar sent to the super team at Howard County Veterinary Hospital! Rescue is a team effort, and thank to you all, it's been a little easier!
It's Christmas π in July!!
Petco in Ellicott City is doing a donation drive for the kitties this month! Help fill their stockings with all sorts of goodies!
Lunch time is yummy!
What's your favorite part of the day?! I think any time the U kittens get b food or treats, it's the best part of their day!
Thank you, Spay Now in Laurel, for being an amazing team of dedicated animal care professionals!! Without your help, we wouldn't be able to help the rescued, abandoned, feral, abused, and community cats of Howard County and beyond. Love you all!!! π Enjoy the goodie bag of Yummy (people) treats! Though we did include some for the clinic cats!
For this beautiful Saturday afternoon, may we present the little lady Ivy. She is a ball of fluff and curiosity, and wants to know if she can make YOUR pillow her forever nap spot π

Like a pig in a mud hole; hopefully, you are keeping cool in this crazy Maryland summer heat! Welcome to ASHA Bru. He is a 16yo neutered pot belly pig. Unfortunately, his own lost their home, and Bru needed a place to go. He definitely needs a hoof and tusk trim, so we will be raising funds to get him seen. Please share and donate! Rescueandadopt.org/donate
Who says adult cats arenβt playful!?? Doc is still waiting for his forever home. Heβs been in foster now for several months waiting for his future family to notice him. Heβs a sweet guy who causes no trouble. Give him wet food and some crunchy treats and he will be your best friend πΎ
Anyone else's weekly chores include food prep for the foster cats ? π π» πββ¬οΈ π± ... with baby turkeys underfoot?? π¦ π¦ Just one of our foster families that care for a couple of litters of kittens can go through 24 cans or pouches of wet food in just one day! And a whole 12 oz can of formula in just a week! If you are interested in helping out with fostering a few kittens, a lower or a bottle baby, let us know!! New fosters help take the pressure off our regulars and current foster families. Letting us save more lives and not lose our marbles quite as quickly. π Or if you can't foster, donate!! We can always use more funds for vet costs and food!! And no, the turkey chicks aren't up for adoption they are already spoiled pets π
Want a kitten? One of our fosters has 13 kittens right now! Please checkout our website & consider adopting one or two or five (dramatic vocals included!) π€£ some are spayed/neutered but they are all old enough to find new homes β€οΈwww.rescueandadopt.org
Sheldon made sure that everyone at Howard County Animal Hospital knew he was there today π He has a slight URI again, so he's gotten another antibiotic injection to fend that off. π He's up to 6.2 lbs, so essentially double the weight he was found at!! We just need to get his immune system strong, too!! πͺ
Sweets is always ready to give lots of love when our helpers visit. Come see this love bug at the Ellicott City Petco.
Mama Uni is still available! Unfortunately, older cats like her have a difficult time competing with kittens βΉοΈ She is the sweetest & just wants a family to call her own. Unlike kittens, we know her personality. She is still young enough to play but without the crazy kitten energy. Please consider Mama Uni π€πΌ
The big bottle-baby "A" boys are growing up fast! They are eating wet food but still love the bottle. Archimedes (white on face) and Attenborough are going to be great with dogs, kids, strangers, events, leash walking, going to stores, birds, car rides, vacuums... they are well socialized and well-adjusted curious young boys!
The famous Fabio with his fabulous hair came in today. He is a young about 6-7 weeks old feral born boy. Extremely skittish and scared. This is his first interaction with people. But he is skin and bones (and fluff) so he was so happy to get some yummy food. He will be ready in a week or 2 once we get him to a healthy weight and vetted
