HERE WE GO AGAIN! The 19th season of Cat'n Around Catskill kicked off with the Artist/Sponsor Reception this past Sunday. Artist and sponsors mingled to discuss the cat of the Sponsors choice. The event was well attended and by the looks of the artists renditions presented at the reception we can look forward to another great season of great art work for Cat lovers to enjoy.

Our feel-good story for the week: Auction bidder Susan Filgueras bought "Purr-blic Awareness Kitty Gala" and gave it back to artist Nancy Mowris-Dauley and her daughter Brittani Dauley. Brittani’s father passed away in 2020 from Kidney Cancer and his loss inspired the design, including its orange “tie” (ribbon) representing Kidney Cancer. They were excited that this representation of her cat was on display. Brittani got her cat Prince after her dad died as her emotional support animal to help her cope with losing her dad.

Sunday saw the conclusion of the 18th Annual season of Cat'n Around Catskill at the Historic Catskill Point Warehouse. Over 300 attendees came out for a chance to win one of the 70 Cats that were auctioned off. It was a genuinely exciting day with fun had by all. The Heart of Catskill Association would like to thank all our sponsors, artists, attendees and a nearly endless list of volunteers. An extra special thank you goes out to Sean and staff from the Creekside for their catering, our auctioneer Angela Lanuto and the Cat'n Around Program Coordinator Christie Hicks. Watch in the coming days for the People's Choice award winners. Plans are underway for next year. We'll see you next year.

Catskill’s Historic Main Street is lined with vibrant, artist-created cat statues as part of the 18th annual Cat’n Around Catskill celebration, which will culminate in an auction this Saturday.

This is the last of the 70 Cats that were part of this years litter of Cats. This Cat, "Lost in Fairyland," Cat #57 was done by Mary Jo Buzzanco. "Lost in Fairyland was sponsored by Bank and is located in front of their branch office at 238 W. Bridge St. (Rte 9W)
After this weekend any Cats in need of repair will be taken down for a trip to the Vet's. The others are expected to be removed on or about 9/17 in anticipation of our Auction and Gala on Saturday 9/21.
