Looking for a big horse in a little package? Meet Gus aka Short Bus. This 17 year old boy (Vet/Dentist Verified) is ready for his new place to call home. Don’t let his age or size deter you, he doesn’t know how short or old he is and he won’t let you feel it. Ridden by men and women of all sizes, this horse is ready to rock n roll and show off big smooth stride. Gus has been used for a little of everything and is a fun all around kind of horse. Previously used as a guided hunt/outfitting horse, he has trail ridden many miles of desert. Gus will cross water, logs, ditches with ease, will go up and down any size hill nice and slow and do it surefooted, safe and sound. He’s has also some ranch experience and has been used in the branding pen, along with roping live cattle on the heel side, however he is definitely not a finished rope horse by any means just knows his way around the cows and can be a fun weekend warrior.

Gus is recommended for a handy kid / intermediate rider in the arena as he’s sharp, forward, and always looking for what’s next; on the trail/outside the arena he’s the best beer drinking husband horse you can find, broke to traffic and doesn’t participate in any funny business. Gus will read his rider, If you want to have fun and get ranchy he will be your guy, but if your quiet and relaxed, he will keep it chill and take you down the trail without fuss.

Gus can be a little watchy on the ground—not spooky, just doesn’t want you tip-toeing around. Hes a saddle him up and go type, not in your pocket and couldn’t care less about love and affection. He knows what a long days work is and that’s what he’s used to. Gus does all the basic things he should; ties, loads/hauls, picks up all 4 feet, good for farrier, easy to catch etc.
this is a fun and cool horse to have in your barn. Smooth at all gaits and ready to work at all times, a perfect family ranch horse.

Please note, this is a WORK & RANCH horse; He’s got some scars and a few blemishes, but he is sound and rides without any maintenance.

Why do we spend a lot of time Outside the Arena with our young Horses?

Arena work builds precision, but the real world builds confidence. Getting young horses out on the trail exposes them to new sights, sounds, and footing — things you just can’t recreate in an arena.

Riding outside helps them:
- Learn to think for themselves and trust their rider
- Gain balance and sure-footedness on different terrain
- Build a calmer, more confident mindset
- Stay fresh and engaged — not sour or bored

A good training program isn’t just about circles and patterns — it’s about developing a horse that’s relaxed, confident, and capable anywhere.

There’s no better teacher than a little real-world experience!

Let them be horses.

Turn them out, let them run.
Let them buck, let them leap, in the field/arena

Give them a herd, even a herd of two.
Let them be with other horses, what’s a life without friends?

Give them downtime, not just days off riding, but days to enjoy life.
Happy horses are trainable horses.

Take the blanket off, let them feel the sun.
Let them roll in the mud, a little dirt never hurt anyone.

Escape the arena and explore, don’t stick to the well worn path. The most beautiful places are usually found by accident.

Showing them how much you love them doesn’t have to come from buying expensive things.

You can buy every blanket, all the boots, the best tack, wash them, groom them, feed them, put them in the heavy bedded stall, with the best facilities and bubble wrap them to save them from themselves up but one day you’ll realise the best thing you could possibly do..
.is just let them be horses.

Meet Bee🐝, who just successfully completed our 30-day kickstart program with outstanding results.

We provide specialized services for young horses, starting at four months of age. Our comprehensive weanling program encompasses training in haltering/leading, hard tying, grooming/bathing, professional farrier-assisted hoof trimming, trailer loading/hauling, and ponying in both arena and trail settings.

LF JOHNNY THE PICO “John” found his perfect fit and in record timing, he wasn’t even on the market for 72 hours! The best part of all, he gets to stay in the barn here with a very good friend of mine. So this isn’t the last post you’ll see of this handsome guy! Meet LF Johnny The Pico, a 2008 AQHA-registered bay gelding standing 15.2 hands with a pedigree packed with proven performance bloodlines. Sired by John Fame (by the legendary Dash Ta Fame) and out of Sweet As A Bed Bug (granddaughter of He’s A Bug Too), “John” carries the power and speed of proven barrel horse with the sweet and relaxed demeanor of the been there done that, all around horse. John is level-headed and trustworthy, a no nonsense kind of guy. Smooth in all gaits, and uncomplicated to ride, perfect for most riders of any experience level both in the arena and out on the trail. Don’t let his age discourage you, he’s got the miles and mindset that only experience can bring while still having plenty of go for a rider wanting to get after it or keeping his composure for a more laid back ride too. John has been a solid 2D barrel horse for most of his career, and he’s not ready to call it quits just yet. He has had a year of relaxation filled with trail riding and light arena work, (no fault of his own) and is currently getting back in shape to hit the barrel pen again. He works and rides 100% sound with no current maintenance. He is up to date on vaccines, shoes, and dental. This is a horse that once you meet him, you wont be able to stop thinking about him, he’just that nice. John truly is a horse everyone wants in their barn.
