🏡👀 - Country Magnolia is a Rocky Mountain filly. Registered RMHA, and KMSHA eligible. I can’t believe the hip and build on this gorgeous girl already- she turned 2 in June. Maggie is buckskin with no silver gene, so she’s perfect for crossing to stallions that have the silver gene. She has 4 white socks, a star, and a snip.

Maggie’s dam is my favorite mare, SGF Prelude to Adventure (“Pali”). Pali has a mane that literally touches the floor now, and is the best built Rocky mare I have owned. Maggie’s sire is a gorgeous horse named Eastwind Rio, that we used to stand. Both Rio and Pali are silky smooth, well gaited horses that are a blast to ride!

Maggie is a delight to be around. Very people oriented and has a great personality. She has been handled from day one and knows all ground that she should for her age and will lead, lunge, pick up her feet, etc.

Goodness, look at the hip on this gorgeous girl! She just turned 2 in June. She has her mama’s stocky build, that’s for sure. 🤯 Maggie will be looking for a new 🏡. More details to come shortly!

Our favorite mare teaching my mom how to ride. Luna has taught countless people how to ride over the years. This mare is invaluable to us. She is such a pure soul. She’s patient, kind, intuitive, ridiculously people oriented, and so forgiving. And her gait is smooth as butter too. Can’t believe she turned 7 this year!

We are FINALLY offering frozen semen for our stallion, Jb’s Cacao!

Jb’s Cacao is a silver dapple registered Missouri Fox Trotter stallion sired by German Chocolate M. and out of a daughter of Country Frank. He stands 15.2, and has such a strong presence about him. He is very people-oriented and his babies have been very much the same. He is a character with a lot of charisma, and his babies are similar.

He himself is a phenomenal trail horse and his babies are no different. If you’ve been to our farm to ride for fun, chances are you’ve ridden a Stryker baby. 😁 I hoard a small collection of his babies, and they are some of my must trustworthy, capable and nicely gaited horses. They are sure tough to beat!

Stryker was shown in his younger years and did very well in the model classes. I have yet to see a skinny built baby of his, he has such good bone and tends to pass this to his offspring.

Smooth, natural gait and his lope is to die for. (Videos in comments. I also included videos of a few of his daughters that we own in the comments.)

As far as color goes, Stryker himself is a rich brown color. I’ve seen babies of his keep a flaxen mane and tail, and I’ve also seen some of his silver dapple babies look similar to him. 🤷‍♀️ Genetically, he is nZ Ee (silver black with a red gene).

So fun having the fam visit the farm. Tootsie was definitely a favorite!

The white patches are her roan coat starting to show through as she sheds out. Her mane is progressively becoming lighter as well. I believe she is a silver bay roan.

A few pics from a super fun 8 mile loop we did this afternoon with Itza and Goldie. We rode the high desert, then dropped into a pretty little oasis by a spring. Pretty cool that this neat little spot is only about a 15 minute drive from the farm.

We had the craziest storm last night and our camera stopped working in the night, so of course, we woke up to this sweet little surprise. Pali did not wax this time around. This sweet filly has the most perfect markings and such a beautiful face. Four perfect white socks. I’m thinking silver bay roan. She is clearly a bay base color based on her tail, but will test to confirm roan and silver. She’s perfect! With Lucky and Pali as her parents, she can’t help but be a knockout. ☺️

We are really liking this coming 2 year old c**t. He’s by Cherokee Witch Doctor and out of a daughter of Pure Luck. He floats around the field. He’s also homozygous tobiano. We just put his half brother under saddle and he is a really nice ride. He is a friendly and super curious goober and he loves to play. Can’t wait to put him under saddle hopefully next year.

🏡👀 - Sage is a coming 4 year old chocolate Rocky Mountain mare. Her sire is Rock’s Holy Moses and her dam is RHF Dream Maker. She is a solid 15.1. (We measured her last week.) Her build is already solid and thick, and she’s still in the process of filling out.

She has a natural, clean 4 beat gait. She can canter on both leads as well.

Sage has such a sweet disposition and is not spooky by nature. Very people oriented. No drama, just a nice, willing girl.

She’s logged trail miles as well as time in the arena. She is a great ride on the trail. Super surefooted and capable. Nice, comfortable ground covering walk.

Sage also has a nice handle on her. She turns off your legs, stops nicely, is soft in the face, and can sidepass.

If you are looking for a bigger Rocky with a solid mind, she’s your girl. Plenty of video of her available upon request. 🙂 Located in southern Utah.

It was a mule kind of day. Chris rode our new john, Minkus and I rode our molly, Elliot. Minkus is coming along great and slowly filling out really nice. He is ginormous. Has to be at least 16 hands. It was the most beautiful winter day!

🏡👀 - Sage is a coming 4 year old chocolate Rocky Mountain mare. I have her sire and dam’s info so she should be able to be registered RMHA. Her sire is Rock’s Holy Moses and her dam is RHF Dream Maker.

She is already a solid 15-15.1 hands and I sure don’t think she’s done growing. She is a big girl.

She has a nice gait and can canter as well.

She has such a sweet disposition and is not spooky by nature. She’s shaping up to be a really nice horse. We’ve trail ridden her as well as ridden her in the arena. She places her feet very well in the mountains. She’s already getting a nice handle on her- turns off your legs, stops nice, soft in the face, can sidepass.

Sage would be perfect for someone who doesn’t have the budget for a finished horse, but wants a horse with a great start and no issues.

🏡👀 - Smoking Choco Latte (aka “Clyde the Glide”) - Clyde is a 6 year old registered Rocky gelding. We call him Clyde the Glide for a good reason- he glides everywhere he goes. He stands a solid 15.1.

Clyde is a mountain horse extraordinaire. He is exceptionally surefooted and will never let you down even in the most rugged terrain. He will go all day when asked. We have taken him on backcountry trips in Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming and he has always done fantastic. He’s a blast to ride on the trail. Point and go, very thoughtful about how he places his feet, which we love. He’s a very confident horse in general and not spooky by nature.

Rides in the front or back. Has been packed on, hobbled, high lined, has led a pack string, crosses just about any and everything you will encounter on a trail. He’s also been ridden alone a bunch and is a great solo horse.

He has a silky smooth and automatic gait. He has a nice lope as well.

Clyde has a fantastic handle on him - Neck reins, sidepasses, stops on your seat, soft in the face, backs nicely, turns off your legs, etc. His personality is very friendly and sweet.

Clyde thrives when he’s consistently used and and would be a great fit for an avid trail rider. We would like to see him go to a home his potential is realized, as he is one of the best mountain horses we have ever owned. PM for more info, video or to set up a weekend to come ride Clyde. 🙂

I might be a little biased because her momma is one of my absolute favorite mares, but I sure think she’s the cutest, chunky girl! She just turned 5 months. We call her Molly. 🥰 She is potentially available, although I’m already regretting selling her older brother. 😒 Both her sire and dam are automatic, smooth gaited and she is a gaiting machine herself.

We are so excited to add this handsome long eared fellow to the herd. Chris has been looking for another gaited mule that fits his specific criteria for quite some time. This boy is just shy of 16 hands and sweet as can be. I think he’ll be awesome!

Smooth cruising on Jb’s Cacao bareback in a halter. Rarely post much of him, but sure love him. We put a son of his under saddle this past year that will soon be available- I am thrilled with him.

We have received sooo much moisture the past few days, the paddocks are a mucky mess, but the girls are sure enjoying playing in the white stuff. ❄️

Just a “small” holdup on the trail today (sound on). Mr. Carrot loves sheep - A few years ago, we had about 20 stray sheep get into our hay one stormy summer night. I hopped on Carrot bareback in my pajamas, galloped down to the sheep and herded them all the way back to their home. To me, it felt like a scene from a western movie, but I can only imagine how crazy I looked gaiting around in my pajama shorts and flip flops in the wind and rain talking to the sheep as they casually strolled home. I’m sure I was definitely a sight to behold. Lol.

Smoooooth sailing through the weekend on Mr. Carrot. 🐴🥕 Carrot working his magic and somehow making this field look even.😁

What would your horse do? One of the many things I love about this boy- No practice beforehand, but he stands there calmly like he’s done this a million times. I think I flinched more than him. Lol.

MR. CARROT🐴🥕- 2013 Kentucky Mountain Gelding Mr. Carrot is truly one of a kind. He is oh so charming, bold, charismatic, and has a great sense of humor. He is totally a Mr. Ed: He lives to perform and please people! He is the most snuggly and people-oriented gelding I have owned. He loves to be doted upon. He is quite the jolly fellow and really looks forward to human interaction. Although Mr. Carrot knows just about every trick in the book, he is a lot more than a trick horse. Mr. Carrot has been a part of our family for years, and we have logged countless hours on the trail (solo, as well as with others), in the backcountry, in the arena, etc. He enjoys a challenge, loves to get out and go places, and will rise to any occasion. Mr. Carrot is quite the fancy ride: He will side pass to the mounting block, side pass under saddle, respond to leg cues, yield his hindquarters or forequarters, neck rein, and stop on a dime. He can be ridden bareback and brideless with ease. He has been trained to drive a cart too. Mr. Carrot is not a spooky horse. In fact, he is quite adventurous and curious by nature. If he sees something new, his first instinct is to investigate it, which entails sniffing and touching the new thing. My name is Kayla. I sell a few specially trained, gaited horses each year. I used to get frustrated when I’d be looking to buy a horse and find that oftentimes they were misrepresented, trained poorly or even unsafe. I made it a goal to never sell a horse until they were trained to the level I expect out of my own horses.
