A little grass has grown, so the kids get to be on the back 40 for just a few days. ;)
Just a little rain to start off a Saturday morning… lol
UPDATE on Ayla-
if you don’t know her back story please scroll down our page.
Sadly we will be saying goodbye to Ayla, soon. She did ok on the Librela for 2 months… but she’s bone on bone, miserable that she can’t run and play, she barely gets up to go to the bathroom. She will go 10 feet and lay down, staying close to her water bowl or in the shop in the AC. No life for a 4 year old pup. 😞 I reached out and sent X-rays and videos to several vets many times, to have none get back to me to even talk about her legs, before even attempting to travel to them… some hours away. All wanted money first and come to them… sad to say how things are getting. I was willing to pay a phone consult fee still nothing. Sad!
Hay Day!
Only with YOUR HELP, can horses here at Dust Devil Ranch, have days like this!

Ayla
Ayla…. Getting worse daily… x-rays show missing a bone and a ligament, she is on a good dose of CBD, talking to the Vet on Monday about a weekly or monthly injection, but not sure it will work because she’s missing parts from birth. Hoping to find out if braces maybe would work for her?? I can’t seem to find any vet offices, that offer these services. We are lucky if we even have a regular Vet in town, we do have one good one, but he gets overwhelmed I’m sure. Checking in Las Vegas & Phoenix this week. The amount of pain she maybe still getting with no relief we may need to let her go. 😢
But, she is still up to protecting the ranch. You can’t stop her from that… we can’t pen her up she’s not happy… she is still enjoying the sun.
A Rescue dog, from a backyard breeder here in Iron County, I can only imagine where her litter mates ended up, when they find out how defected these now 3-4 yo dogs ended up being. My hope is that Ayla was the only one. She’s an Anatolian/Great Pyrenees.
A little update on Tiny, from Aubrey… so sweet.. her Son Cooper, doesn’t ride often but yesterday wanted to ride Tiny. Look at the Joy on that face… Tiny’s too.
Tiny 🦄 is ok to ride,

Update: Harry … Harry had been going downhill little bit over the past week in the last 24 hours even worse… Took him in to see Dr. Norton today he had masses in his mouth and under his tongue which were causing him not to be able to breathe. Eating was becoming a chore, and it was affecting his eye so he’s had cancer probably for a while and when he went in in September, it wasn’t overly visual. But from then to now had spread all around his mouth and probably was in his head and in other parts of his body. So we let him go this afternoon. He was somewhere in the mid to upper teens.
