Group was formed in 2011 to help develop a dog park in the Iron County area as well as support for all Iron County Shelters. We are developing a dog park in Enoch about 6200 N Minersville Road on 3 acres. We support all shelters with food, litter, medical expenses, spay, neuter and foster care when available. We offer low cost dog training including obedience, agility, flyball and many other dog s

ports. Membership is $30 per year and includes free re-takes of obedience classes for the year. Obedience classes are repeated every 2-3 months. This ALL VOLUNTEER group needs more volunteers. Please join us and let's have some fun.

More dogs go missing around the
4TH OF JULY than any other time of the year and noisy fireworks are usually the cause.

Having tags on your dog’s collar helps them to be returned to you immediately without the anxiety of going to our already full animal shelters.

Microchipping proves ownership and is also the best way to help your pet get Home Again should they lose their tag.

Low Cost Microchips will be available for $35 per pet which includes a lifetime registration with Home Again at an event at IFA on June 22, 2024. Discounts are available too (see flyer below).

You can get a tag, get your pet microchipped & their nails trimmed all at this one event.

Cats are welcome too!

Needing a new home. We were contacted to help spread the word.

JoJo is an 18 month old purebred Australian Shepherd, approximately 40 pounds, off lead and lead trained, knows many commands, very good call back.

He likes to hike, run, and mountain bike, he is not a roamed, he’s a Velcro dog, extremely agile and fit.

He’s good with dogs, cats and large livestock like cows, donkeys, and horses, however, he is not good with smaller livestock like goats, sheep, and fowl.

He is fully vaccinated and he is neutered.

Feel free to pass on pics and my contact info:

Freestyle Dog Dancing April 2024
Gail Workman will be starting a new class for Freestyle, which is a modern dog sport that creates interaction between owners and their dogs. It is a combination of obedience training and tricks that is combined with music and can be choreographed into a dancing routine for owners and their dogs. This is a perfect and fun way to bond with your dog.
Gail will have music each week to help you choose maneuvers that will work for you and your dog so you can dance to your favorite music.
This class will be an 8 week course beginning Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 6 pm and will be one hour every week. Your dog will need to know basic commands.
Bring a copy of vaccination records to the first class.
The cost of this 8 week course is $130. Ask Gail about the discount if you are taking Amy Chrisman’s Dog Agility Class.
Location of Classes:

Amy Chrisman's The Dog House
149 S 5300 West, Cedar City, Utah

**Look for mile marker 56 off of Hwy 56.
Follow the road to the end and look for the red barn on your left.
Classes will be inside the barn.

I would like to thank everyone who donated. Enoch Animal Shelter has new beds for all the kennels and through the generosity of so many, we were able to send beds to Beaver County Animal Control Facility as well.
Cedar City Animal Adoption Center and Iron County Sheriff's Animal Shelter had already been supplied with new beds in one of our prior fundraisers.

01/11/2024

Iron County Sheriff's Animal Shelter needs our help. They are full and are in need of dog food. So the dogs do not have diarrhea, they need to stay on the same brand of food.

Cedar City IFA Country Store carries the dog food that the shelter needs. It is Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice. This donation can be even purchased over the phone and Brittany in the Cedar City IFA Country Store pet food department will deliver it to the shelter.

If you have questions, please contact Ray Rodriguez at the shelter at 435-867-7618 and he will call you back.

Iron County Animal Shelter uses the Eagle Mountain brand that can be purchased from IFA.

Enoch Animal Shelter also uses Eagle Mountain Brand but is also in need of puppy food. Iams or Pure Balance Pro Puppy are the preferred brand and can be purchased at Walmart.

Canned cat food is always welcome and needed at the Cedar City and Enoch Animal Shelters.

Iron County Sheriff's Animal Shelter can really use our help with dog food. Can you help donate some kibble to them?
They are located at 3109 Iron Springs Road, Cedar City, Utah 84720
Their contact number is 435-867-7500
They are trying to keep dogs on a consistent kibble for their health but will accept all brands. Their preferred food is the green bag of Eagle Mountain Pro Balance.
It can be purchased at IFA (Intermountain Farmers) at 905 S Main Street in Cedar City and even be left with them. IFA will deliver food to the shelter if you don't want to make the drive out to the shelter.
If you would like to SHIP your donation from Chewy or Amazon the preferred food is Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice (they do not carry Eagle Mountain), please ship to:
Iron County Sheriff's Office
2132 N. Main Street, Cedar City, UT 84721
The shelter is FULL! They are a "no kill" shelter and really need our help. If you would like to adopt or know any rescue organizations that can help, please contact them directly.
Attached are pictures of some of the adoptable dogs out at the Iron County Shelter.

Enoch Animal Shelter and Iron County Sheriff's Animal Shelter are in need of some replacement pet beds. Can you help get animals off of the ground before the cold winter weather is upon us?
These beds are very sturdy and long lasting.

09/03/2022

We are in desperate need of dog fosters. Because we are a foster based rescue, we cannot save a life without the commitment of a foster home. Our average foster length is about 3-4 weeks. If you are willing to offer up your home and love for that amount of time, please go to our website and fill out the foster form. https://pflu.org/foster/

The dog pictured here is one of many amazing dogs sitting in a shelter who could really use our help. Her name is Dixie. She is 2 years old and already spayed (a possible shorter foster commitment since we will not need to wait for a surgery appointment). She is good with other dogs and friendly with people. If you are interested in foster her, please email [email protected]. If labs are more your thing, the same shelter has a 2 year old black lab mix male also needing rescue. He is good with other dogs, both large and small, and cats.

08/19/2022

CRATES NEEDED!! Iron County Sheriff's Animal Shelter is in desperate need of crates for transporting dogs to rescues.

The shelter is FULL and they have rescue groups willing to take some dogs to make room, but need medium to large crates for transporting.

If you can donate a crate(s), please call 435-867-7618.

07/30/2022

Gail Workman has a class beginning August 4th for advanced training working toward Canine Good Citizen and beyond. Please call her or text her directly with questions. 435-592-5487

HELP! DRIVERS NEEDED! Iron County Animal Shelter is full and they are needing people willing to take 2 young dogs (kennels provided) to the Humane Society in St George for spay/neuter next week Tuesday, June 21st and 2 more dogs on Thursday, June 23rd.
Dogs will need to be delivered to HSUS by 7:45 AM so it is an early morning run.
GOOD NEWS: Festival Country K9s will pay for your gas (need a receipt) and you do not need to stay to bring the dogs back to Cedar.
Please call Lynne Brown if you are able to help! 435-590-7451
Thank you!!
