Our trial location has changed!

Beginning this year, the club will hold obedience and rally trials on Nov. 16 and 17, 2024, and on Jan. 11 and 12, 2025, both at Top Dog Training Facility, 24 Bartley Road, Flanders, N.J.

Summer trials are scheduled for June 13, 14 and 15, 2025 at Golden Rule School for Dogs, 23 Morris-Sussex Turnpike, Andover, N.J.

The November trials include two separate, consecutive Rally trials on Saturday, Nov. 16, and one Obedience trial Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024. Entries opened Sept. 18, and close Oct. 30 for the November 2024 trials. The Premium List is posted on the website: https://www.k9otcnj.com/upcoming-events.

Our January trials were formerly held at Verona High School, Verona, N.J.

These trials are sanctioned by The American Kennel Club. Exhibitor entries are limited to AKC-registered dogs (including AKC Canine Partners).

The K-9 Obedience Training Club of Essex County, NJ, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization that has operated continuously in Essex County since it was founded in 1944. It has held AKC trials since the 1950s.

K9 OTC members practiced obedience skills at the club's June 2024 match, which is basically an unofficial, practice obedience trial.
Match shows are an ideal way for handlers to test their skills in the ring just as they would experience in our upcoming AKC obedience trial.
Obedience training not only results in a well-behaved dog, it also builds a strong bond between you and your canine companion.
