Mosquitos that carry heartworm disease can be found anywhere is the United States, but mostly in the Southeastern area of the country. Signs to look for: weight loss, vomiting, lack of appetite & coughing. Heartworm disease can live with your pet for years undetected. It is strongly recommended to be on year-round prevention. Speak to your veterinarian about prevention. Prevention saves lives.
And remember, mosquitoes can and are often found inside. These insects are looking for warm, dark and moisture places to hide, they also seek shelter from wind and adverse weather conditions. How are they getting in? Mostly when you are entering or existing your residence. They are very quick to hide and easily find a way to sneak in. Protect your best friend.

This sweet little baby in the first picture was Luna one year ago when she first met Dr. D’ancicco. She was coming in for her first visit but wasn’t feeling the best. Upon further testing it was discovered that she was parvo positive. Her mom and Dr. D’ancicco worked very hard together to get the best care for Luna and after a week of intensive care she survived!!❤️ The second and third picture is her after her treatment. Now Luna is a healthy and strong dog living her best life thanks to the quick diagnosis and intensive treatment done by our amazing Dr. D’ancicco! Parvo is an extremely deadly disease and in most cases they do not survive😣 but we are so so thankful that baby Luna beat the odds! The last picture is Luna today with her favorite doctor that saved her life💕
