Market after dark was so much fun! Thank you to everyone who said hello to kyber and myself.
Me procrastinating on chores to train puppies
Playing with puppies, now that’s a dream job. Rylee Newville is starting off strong working with Malachi, she is learning how to instill confidence in puppies and help them overcome any fears. Malachi makes this obstacle course look easy as he navigates new textures, sounds and movements.
Make sure you give them both a round of applause!
This is so much harder than people realize! I am very proud of kyber and how far he has come. #servicedog #servicedogtrainer #servicedogtraining #dogtraining
So proud of this PSDT team. They are working hard everyday. They are on phase 2 of 5 phases for the perfect leave it. Along with leave it they have been working on heel, auto focus, stay and are almost ready to take the CGC. Just a little more work guys!
Kyber went out to do his first PA training session. He did an amazing job with handler focus, ignoring distractions, walking through a crowd and tackled the escalators! This little guy is going to do big things.
Pace changes! I can not stress enough how important it is to train this with puppies in a heel position. Learning to go at a slow, normal and fast past can be difficult and most dogs want to break a heel.
Learning this can be a great way to keep dogs engaged with thier owner as well as come in handy when trying to cross a busy road or waiting in line.
Alway start off with luring and practicing at home, then graduate to low distraction places. Our home depto and Lowe’s are pet friendly and have been great places to train!
We are excited to welcome kyber! He is a long haired WSL German shepherd pup. He is 4 months old and has a promising future as a service dog
We only have Canoli for a couple more days! She has come so far in her progress, at first she barked a lot throughout the day, barked at children and men, would react to scary things by barking and lunging or running away. Now she has learned all her fundamentals and some good confidence to be able to walk away calmly to scary situations, go to her place if she dose not want attention, will take treats from some men and kids, and has worked hard to be ready to pass her AKC CGC on Sunday.
I am so proud of how far she has come, this is a video of her listening to some basic obedience commands from my husband. It took a couple weeks for her to be comfortable around him because she was not a fan of men, especially tall men. But here she is! Listening and doing obedience exercises without barking, reacting or being overwhelmed.
And big thank you to my husband for all the extra help he has volunteered to do
