Here at Dogs Forever we open our hearts and bring dogs into our care from counties without animal shelters, shelters where dogs are euthanized due to overcrowding, and other reasons such as an owner has passed away and there is no family to take the dog in. With our intimate setting of kennels, the noise level is not offensive to dogs or people, which helps keep the stress among our dogs at a mini

mum. We also use classical and jazz music to help provide a calm and soothing environment for the dogs. Our all-volunteer staff is committed to the well-being of the dogs in our care. Three times each day, seven days a week, volunteers walk, feed, and interact with our dogs. They all receive the upmost medical and dental care from day one with us. Some of them have never known a kind, gentle, loving touch. It's our duty as their caregivers to walk beside them during their journey with us. We provide them with those feelings and emotions to feel safe and confident while we find their forever home. Winnie is hilarous! She LOVES to run and zoom around the yard. We're telling you, this is the girl to come see! She's so sweet and funny.

🐾Winnie is a 1-year-old French Bulldog/Corgi mix-ish.
🐾She is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and is ready to play with toys and bounce around the yard. She is so happy and silly!
🐾Winnie is dog and cat friendly. We'd set up a meet and greet with any pets in the home to make sure it's a good fit.

Oh hiii!! Tyrus over here still waiting for his forever family. If you're looking for a GOOD BOY who loves loves kids, people, and other dogs (no cats though.. sorry!), pick Tyrus!!! He just wants somebody to love.

🐾Tyrus is an almost 2 year old mixed breed boy weighing 52 pounds.
🐾He is dog friendly and we would love to find him another active playmate in his forever home.
🐾Tyrus equally loves curling up for a good snuggle sesh. He's even a hugger. 🥰🥰His favorite is to find the sun spot coming through the window to nap in.
🐾 He absolutely loves toys. All types of toys. He loves to get every single one out of the toy box to make sure he can play with them all.

This sweet boy Tyrus would love nothing more than to have his own canine sibling to run and play with and family to love him dearly. He is so sweet and his future forever family is missing out on all these sweet moments with him!

We think it's safe to say... Honey's foster brother Enzo might like having her around with those face kisses. 😍 Honey is LOVING having a foster home and not having to be in the shelter. She's much more relaxed! Pick Honey!! She's young enough that she's still a hoot with her funny personality, but old enough that she's out of the young puppy shenanigans.

🐾Honey is a 9-month-old maybe shepherd mix weighing about 40 pounds.
🐾She is very friendly, loves attention, and very playful. She loves running and bouncing around the yard.
🐾Honey is so smart and loves to learn new things. She's treat motivated and catches on quick!
🐾She is dog friendly and doesn't mind cats either! If you have a dog, we will set up a meet and greet to be sure it's a good fit.

Sweet squishy faced Amira. The happiest sweetest girl waiting for you to want to meet her. She hanging out with one of our fosters and doesn't come to the shelter on Saturdays. If you'd like to meet her put in an application! The adoption committee will review and get in touch to schedule a time for you to go give her a squeeze. 🥰

Amira is a 3-year-old Boxer who makes the best shadow and snuggle bug. Amira is very easy going and loves all people big and small. She is dog friendly but NO CATS for this girl. If you have another dog in the home, we'll set up meet and greets with any dogs.

Amira would probably like to have a home with a fenced yard where she could hang out with you. She loves her walks so maybe she can be your new walking partner. This silly girl likes to sleep under the blankets. Amira is treat motivated which has helped her learn several basic commands. She's very eager to please and loves to learn!

Again, Amira does not do well at the shelter but we are happy to have you meet her at a different time by quickly filling out the application! You can really see her true colors and little nubbin go crazy with excitement to meet you. You must fill out an application first. If the adoption committee believes you're a good fit, we will get in touch with you to schedule a time for you to meet her. 🥰 She'll be so excited!!

Amira could also benefit from a foster home. Yes. She is currently in one however they have worked really hard to try with their cats and it's a no-go. They've agreed to let her hang out with them in the meantime but we'd love to get her into a different foster home with no cats. So if that's something you might be open to? Hey you! We need some foster homes! Have some room in your heart and home for a bit? We have some sweet potatoes that would LOVE to come crash at your place while they wait for their forever.

Dogs Forever pays for EVERYTHING for our dogs while they're with you. You'll never have to pay for food, treats, medical, kennel, toys anything you need. Just give them all the love and patience in the world considering they have to try to learn your life and routine and that can sometimes be a little scarry. They might have a few accidents, they might chew on something, who knows. They're dogs and trying to adjust. We just ask that you help us get pictures and a few short videos of them living with you to share their sweet faces with everyone out there. Help us get them to the shelter on Saturday's when we're open to the public so people can meet them from 10-2.

We'll NEVER leave a dog with you that turns out to not be such a good fit. Sometimes after a week or two it just might not work and that is O.K. We can bring them back to the shelter or find another couch to crash on. We'll help if you go on vacations, too!

It's really a WIN-WIN. You get all the love and benefits of having a dog with none of the financial responsibility. PLUS - you get to help some pretty incredible dogs and be a part of their journey while they wait for their next one. THAT in itself is the best part. And YES.. you WILL be able to do it. You WON'T keep them all. If you kept them all you wouldn't be able to help the next dog that needs you!!

🐾 Newbie Alert!! 🐾 Meet MISHA!!

Snuggle bug alert! Misha is guessed to be a 1-year-old Dachshund/Beagle mix-ish or something cute like that, weighing 24 pounds. She has the cutest little speckled chest and feet!

Her foster family says Misha is an energetic pup who loves to play hard and nap harder, especially under the blanket. She is very eager to learn and please. She would love to have a fully fenced yard to run, play and chase birds in.

She seems to like other dogs but we don’t know how she is with cats yet, we'll cat test her soon. We are just getting to know this little nugget so we will add information as we learn more. One thing we do know, this girl loves toys and chew toys! She's a hoot!

Jordan is good on a leash and ready to be your walking partner. She is very curious and loves watching the world around her. She does not bark, just watches.

Her foster dad says Jordan is a playful girl with big puppy energy still and would love to have a fully fenced yard to run and play in safely. She likes other dogs and would probably like to have a playmate. We're not sure on cats but we can find out.

With our sweet babes we have for you to come see on Saturday we just wanted to post a quick reminder on our adoption process. We're actually not much different than most other shelters! Still need to fill out an app, meet the dog, do meet and greets with other pets. We do require reference checks, background checks, and do not adopt out to the first that applied. We accept multiple applications and do what is best for our dogs.

💥 No one takes a dog home the same day you meet them. 💥
💥 Do not bring your dog(s) on Saturday if you have one.💥
💥 All humans that live in the home need to come meet the dog(s) you're applying for the following Saturday after you submit an application unless you email in to request a different day/time. You even answer this question ON the application that you understand you need to come meet the dog... please read thoroughly.💥

We have an adoption committee specifically formed to help with this process. They will review all the visit summaries from when you come to meet the dog Saturday done by one of our volunteers. We want to see the interaction with the humans/dogs and get any further questions we have answered from your application.

If you don't have an application in for a dog, please just put one in. It doesn't mean you're adopting the dog, it just helps us get most of our questions answered before you arrive so you can spend more time with the dog, and less time answering all our questions. If you're not sure which dog, that's okay. You can fill out an app at our shelter before you leave or when you get home, too.

From there, the committee has the very difficult decision of finding the best forever home for that specific dog. (AKA that means if you apply, and you don't come visit the dog on Saturday or get in touch with us to find a day/time that works for you, your application will not be considered.)

Because we are an all volunteer based shelter, this process can take a few days up to a few weeks. Between reviewing the applications and visit summaries, trying to schedule any meet and greets needed, and trying to check references and get them to answer their phones, it's a lot of work for us! If the committee agrees your application and visit summary with the dog went well, if you have a dog, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with the dogs to see how that goes. If there are multiple good apps, we'll set up multiple meet and greets and let the dogs help us with our decision. This can take time with everyone's varying schedules.

The one thing we ask is that you give us some grace while we work through this process. If you have any questions about your application or the adoption process please do not message into our Facebook, you can email the adoption committee directly at [email protected].

We always let every application know the decision we made for our dogs, regardless. We ultimately can only make one family/person happy with the decision we make and we're grateful for your understanding.

YES! We will accept your clean/dry redeemable cans and bottles but pleeaassee for the love of dogs do NOT park in/on/around/near/in shouting distance of our neighbors parking lot......

NO! They don't have to be separated out.

YES! You can drop them off 🔹ANYTIME🔹 that works best for you! We do not have to be present.

YES! We do need them in some type of bag at least. Please tie a knot if it's a sack so they don't blow open and scatter everywhere. 😁

We have a metal cage out, always. It's in front of the shed by the building on the right when you're looking at our shelter from the road. You'll see the "Cans for Canines" and "Bottles for Buddies" signs on there. There's a metal rack and/or blue tote for redeemable glass bottles next to it.

You can also drop them off at Can Shed and tell them to put it towards Dog Forever's account.

Got a LAARRGGE donation? Or are you a local business with LOTS of redeemable cans you never know what to do with? Give us a holler, we'll arrange for someone to pick them up on a regular basis!

Again... Our parking lot = loves dogs, please park there. We cannot guarantee the love of dogs in other parking lots.

VooDoo!! She is so funny you guys! Seriously what a character. She is the perfect bundle of sweet and silly.

🐾 VooDoo is a 6-year-old shepherd mix-ish.
🐾 She is great on a leash and would make a great running or walking partner. 🐾 VooDoo is friendly and loves everyone she meets. She is dog friendly however we think she would want to chase a cat so we recommend a home without any.
🐾VooDoo is playful girl and we want her to have a fully fenced yard to run and play in safely.

Oh my gosh you guys, every now and then we get a dog in and they just make our heart burst! That's Harli!! She is so much of a gentle old soul but also has the cutest silliest side to her. She's a unicorn dog in that she is perfect!!

🐾 Harli is a 2-year-old Basenji mix-ish. 🐾 She is very friendly and social. She does great on a leash and would make a great walking partner.
🐾Harli is dog friendly and also passed her cat test!
🐾 She would love to have a fenced yard to run and play in safely.

She's very gentle, loving, and just GAH! We love her! When you meet her you fall in love, she has the gentlest soul that just makes you want to be around her. 🖤

She is the perfect bundle of sweet and silly. 🐾 VooDoo is a 6-year-old shepherd mix-ish. 🐾 She is great on a leash and would make a great running or walking partner. 🐾 VooDoo is friendly and loves everyone she meets. Gretta!! This girl and those EYES! Gah!! She is SO BEAUTIFUL!! We love her and her little white socks on her toe beans. 🥰 🐾Gretta is about 12 weeks old. Her mom is guessed to be a Carolina Dog mix and we have no idea what breed mix dad might be. 🐾She is very smart and loves to learn! She loves snacks, naps, running around with the zoomies, playing with her siblings, being a piranha with her puppy teeth, and crashing for a puppy pile nap. 🐾Gretta would be happy to have a canine sibling in her new home to play with. Joey!! He always has a huge dilemma... how many tennis balls can he get at once.. (one.. but don't try and tell him that!!) He's the best! Although he sure loves the snow, he REALLLYYY loves laying outside in the sunshine to sunbathe.. it's his favorite thing, ever!! (Next to tennis balls maybe!) 🐾Joey is a GOOD BOY. He gets along with dogs that are friendly and not reactive but he's too interested in cats so best to go somewhere without any. He would love to have another canine buddy in the home so we'd really like to find that for him or make sure he'd have lots of canine playmate buddies! He loves going to doggy daycare too. 🐾He's just 2.5 years old and some type of pitty mix weighing who is down to about 85 pounds now! (Don't worry, he's working on slimming down and doing great!!) 🐾He loves to go on a good sniffari when you take him for a walk and loves to play fetch. Walks are his favorite! 🐾Joey equally loves being tucked in like a burrito with a cozy blanket for a snooze sesh on the couch... he is just the bestest boy you guys! He would sleep all day if you let him but it'll be very important for his forever person to understand why he needs to continue getting his daily walks to shed some pounds. Hi.. are you looking for the most gentle sweetest boy around? Tyrus is over here looking for you, too! He has the sweetest demeaner and is just the best boy. He's in a foster home and has a canine foster brother who he loves being around (and who clearly tolerates his tail wagging in his face! haha) This sweet boy Tyrus would love nothing more than to have his own canine sibling to run and play with and family to love him dearly. He is so sweet and his future forever family is missing out on all these sweet moments with him! 🐾Tyrus is an almost 2 year old mixed breed boy weighing 52 pounds. 🐾He is dog friendly and we would love to find him another active playmate in his forever home. 🐾Tyrus equally loves curling up for a good snuggle sesh. Our Story

Here at Dogs Forever we open our hearts and bring dogs into our care from counties without animal shelters, shelters where dogs are euthanized due to overcrowding and other reasons such as an owner has passed away and there is no family to take the dog in. With our intimate setting of kennels, the noise level is not offensive to dogs or people, which helps keep the stress among our dogs at a minimum. We also use classical and jazz music to help provide a calm and soothing environment for the dogs.

Our all-volunteer staff is committed to the well-being of the dogs in our care. Three times each day, seven days a week volunteers walk, feed, and interact with our dogs. They all receive the upmost medical and dental care from day one with us. We love our homeless dogs like they are our own. Some of them have never known a kind, gentle, loving touch. It's our duty as their caregivers to walk beside them during their journey with us and provide them with nothing but those feelings and emotions to feel safe and confident while we find their forever home.
