Meet Wilma 🐶

Wilma is a little over a year old and looking for a home to call her own 💕While she can't help pay the bills, she can provide her new home with having the bestest companion to listen to your day and comfort you when those electric bills start to rise this summer ☀️

Wilma has been noted to get along with other dogs and tested well with cats. We would require a meet and greet with any pup(s) in your home to make sure everyone thinks she's a great fit!

We want to send a big thank you to Advance Auto Parts and their District Manager, Matt, for their raffle proceeds donation from the Invasion 8 event this past Saturday 🏎 $474 was raised for the animals here at CVHS and we couldn't be more grateful for their support 🐾

Foster kitten picture for attention, not available for adoption just quite yet 💕

Today we are placing 11 kittens 😺 that have come in this week into foster homes, on top of the DOZENS we already have in foster care! We are looking for more kitten fosters RIGHT MEOW 😻 https://www.cvhumane.org/foster-application

😼We supply fosters with anything they should need for the duration of their foster care (food, litter, bowls, toys, blankets, etc.)

😼Fostering timeframe depends on your schedule or the kitties- we are grateful for any time you are willing to give! Most kittens spend about 2 months in foster care, depending on age.

😼What if you fall in love with your foster kitten and want to adopt? GREAT! We encourage this! But also, please keep helping us afterwards if you're able to 😂

Another round of dog obedience class starts July 9th and runs thru August 20th! There are seven sessions with our certified trainer, Gary, each an hour long once a week that covers: focus, sit, down, stay, stand, walking on a loose leash, heel, recall and other basic training!

Sweet Zoey 🥹💕🐾🐶

Zoey is a little over 6 years old and is the sweetest girlie. She is very shy here, but once she's out playing with another dog or a staff/volunteer- she comes right out of her shell 🥰

Sonny was adopted back in January and is best described as the "king of naps". He loves exploring with his human siblings and after his naps, he loves nothing more than to run like a wild man in every direction through the house 😂

During the COVID 2020 era we decided, since the cats weren't getting as many visitors as they were used to, to let the cats free roam in our cat room and haven't gone back! Some may be in kennels if they are recovering from spay/neuter, on a special diet, etc. but most are out free roamin' around. Next time you're in, don't forget to "look up"- you never know where the cats may be!

Happy Tails Update: Foster fail edition 💕 🐈

Harry (you may have seen the posts we've made about him previously!) came to us with an injury that required a splint and recovery time in a foster home. Enter our wonderful fosters Margaret and Josh! Harry was in great hands and made great improvement during his time with his foster family.

Harry made his way back to CVHS to go up for adoption, but we could tell Harry missed his foster family a lot. Just as we messaged them to tell them this, they sent a message wondering if it was possible to adopt Harry and make it official!

Harry continues to do great and live a wonderful life! He has a super funny personality and we just know he hit the jackpot with Margaret and Josh.

Sofie is living her BEST life 💕Her family sent us an update on how things have been going since her adoption day:

"She is just the cutest and sweetest. Shes very spoiled- she loves pup cups, heated seats in the truck, playing ball, cuddles, belly rubs and playing with the neighbor dogs! She just loves being around and being included in activities. Her favorite activities are going on walks, truck rides and chasing bugs."

New Years 2023

Happy New Year from all of us at CVHS! We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our supporters who have a special place in their heart for CVHS. Whether you donate, like/share/comment on our posts or just come in to say "hi!", we are so grateful for you. We are excited for 2023 and can't wait to share every bit with you! Reminder that we are closed to the public until Tuesday. Don't worry- we will be coming in several times a day to take care of the animals and make sure they get lots of lovins'! See you soon!

Big Update! (Additional photos and videos in comments) Ted (posted about Saturday) continues to come out of his shell in the admin office. Ted now hangs out by the door waiting for someone to come hang with him in the morning and greets them with "mews". He LOVES toys and being pet! From being unable to handle in December of last year to running around the admin office playing with toys and being comfortable- there's truly no better joy than this for us <3

How has Foxxy not been adopted yet!? We featured her on our Saturday Spotlight and she's still looking for her forever home. Are you needing a kitty to warm your cold sink? We've got you covered. We're unsure if she knows how to wash dishes yet but based on her personality we think there's a good chance she'd like to help out ;)

McGuire

Look who is ready to find a home! McGuire (posted about on 4/11) has had an exam and blood work done and we are happy to report he is ready to be up for adoption! Unfortunately, an owner did not come forward for him, so we are unsure of his past, but look forward to finding his future <3
