Happy Tails Update 🐶

Drako (formerly Silver) was adopted a little over a week ago after spending a couple of months here at the shelter- we wanted to share this update with you guys ASAP 💕

"I’ve had a fawn Doberman for 6 years (Boomer) and I’ve wanted another for a while. When I saw Drako on CVHS’s page, my heart couldn’t resist as he looked just like Boomer did when he was a pup! I submitted my adoption application the next morning and then went to go meet Drako (aka Silver) and brought him home the same day. Drako is now in his forever home and him and Boomer have been inseparable since!"

We're so happy Drako found his perfect match- just how cute are these pictures?! As always, thank you to those who choose to find their next furry best friend at CVHS 🐾

POV: You're trying to get some pics of the cats today by getting on ground level, but Sherman took the opportunity to get comfortable so you laid there for a while so he could get a quick nap in.

Sherman is a wonderfully kitty looking for a home 💕 He is a little over 4 years old and gets along well with the cats in the free roaming cat room. He enjoys playing, napping on staff, and just living the typical cat life.

Sweet baby Oreo is still available for adoption 🥹

Oreo is a little under 3 years old and is just the sweetest girl! She loves going on walks, playing outside, and snuggling with staff/volunteers 💕 She gets along with other doggos but we would require a meet and greet with any pup(s) in your home to make sure everyone agrees a new family member is a great idea!

Oreo knows basic commands and is food motivated (okay, same sis) so we know she would love to continue to learn more commands! We have not had her around cats just yet. We do ask that she goes to a home without kiddos of the toddler size and below and they are a little too much for her 🐾

Our good friend Lydia from ImpactLife stopped in with a bunch of goodies from last week's donation drive for CVHS! Gabe (available for adoption) decided he would rather curl up and nap for the photo 😹 and we love that for him 💕

Orange cat club 😺

Scallop (top of condo) and Hairy Styles are available for adoption and are quite the photogenic bunch! Both cats came from a rescue situation with 8 other cats a little over a month ago. After vet appointments, dentals, spay/neuter, and TLC- these cuties are ready to go!

Both are a little over 6 years old- Scallop is a female, while Hairy is a male.

Stop on out and meet these sweeties! We're open 12-5pm today 🐾

Boots (formerly Mountain Mew) was adopted a couple of months ago and is doing wonderful in his home! Check out what his family had to say about how things are going:

"We came to the animal shelter not sure if we wanted a dog or a cat but when we saw Boots, as we now call him, we fell in love. Everyone at the shelter were so great and we will go back for our next adoption. Our grandson fell in love with him."

We have some adorable pups still waiting for their homes 💕🐾

Silver: male, almost 5 months old, Doberman mix. Came in with 6 siblings and is the last pup left 😔

Leeper: male, estimated to be a year and a half old, Terrier mix. Came in with 2 other dogs that have since been adopted.

Oreo: female, almost 3 years old, Great Pyrenees mix. Brought to us in November and is still waiting for her opportunity to shine 🐶🐾

It's time for our annual reminder: PLEASE do not leave your pets outside during this cold weather. The next couple of days are looking absolutely nasty- stay safe everyone!

***Pet owners are advised to take precautions against extreme cold that can harm your pets.***

Bring them in – if you have outdoor pets, bring them inside during winter weather. During severe weather, dogs should be let out only to relieve themselves and cats should be kept indoors at all times.

Keep them dry – towel dry pet’s legs, paws, and stomach to remove ice, salt, snow and other debris from your pet’s coat immediately when they come in out of winter weather.

Leave them at home – limit car travel to only when necessary, and don’t leave pets unattended in the vehicle. Cars can rapidly cool down in cold weather; it becomes like a refrigerator and can rapidly chill your pet.

Make some noise – many animals often find a warm vehicle engine can be an appealing hiding place from the elements. Before starting your car, knock loudly on the hood of your car before starting the engine or for those of you using remote start, unlock and lock doors/honk horn to give creatures a chance to escape.

***If you see an animal you believe is in danger please call your local non-emergency police dispatch.***

Murphy (formerly Oreo) was adopted back in July of 2023 and is living his best life with his family!

"Murphy is doing great, so glad I picked him that day! Love him so much!! :) Here’s some pictures of him just to show you guys he’s loving life lol!!"

We're so happy for Murphy and we love seeing all the CVHS alumni so happy! As always, thank you to those who choose to adopt their next furry best friend at CVHS 🐾💕🐶
