I AM ROYAL TE had a good weekend. He earned 2 Open Breakaway Points, and 1 Amateur Heeling Point. Bringing his point total for the year to 5.5.

Last weekend we attended the Nebraska Quarter Horse Banquet. 2023 was a good year for the Flying M and we are excited to hit some shows for 2024, but first…. branding season, it’ll be here before we know it! We already kicked it off with a trip to the Denver Stock Show.
Last year Just Smart Jackie picked up a 2nd place overall finish in the Amateur Heading and placed in heeling. ID Be Lucky finished 2nd overall in Amateur Tie-Down and also placed in heading and heeling. The home raised stud, I Am Royal Te, finished 2nd overall in Amateur Barrel racing and Amateur Working Cow. Thanks to all who helped us last year, especially our family. A nice Christmas present surprise from our main supporter, Mandy McClure, was a great way to close out 2023!

Really proud of our 3-year-old home grown stallion, I AM ROYAL TE. He made his roping debut at an AQHA show in Lincoln, NE last weekend. He came home with 1 tie down point and 1 heeling point. Next stop the National Western Stock show in January.

As the show season came to an end. our Three-year-old Stud I AM ROYAL TE competed in AQHA Working Cow horse, Halter, Ranch Riding and Barrels. Although he didn't pick up any points, he handled it all. He will continue to be shown in Heeling and Tiedown roping for the 2024 season. with a goal of being a world show qualifier and an HPI sire. thank you to Sydney Schlenger Photography for the photos. 🔈 Here’s a really good podcast from a great program, The Pitzer Ranch.🏆

A number of our mares can be traced back to the ranch and quite a few carry the great lazy HP brand! 🔥

We’ve been fortunate to turn out some nice horses that we use quite often for every day ranch work and even in the show arena! Since we started Flying M Bar in 2015, we’ve sold some horses locally and out of state, some through the Pitzer sale ring. Some are riding trails and some are rodeoing. Which speaks to their talent and mind to tackle it all!

Like Jim says, it takes years build a program and I think we have some nice mares and some pretty cool stallion prospects to take down the road!

This Saturday is the spring sale! Check out #205, a nice and shapey young bay mare, just started and you can take her anyway you want! Our folks 7M Horse Co Stephen and Beth McClure also have a ranch/heel horse prospect at #214.

Fun day in the arena. Thankful to drive away with two 1st place finishes on Justa Genuine Jackie in VRH Ranch Trail and Halter. Another good showing by I Am Royal Te. Highlight of the day was watching the kiddos get some time in the arena with a 3rd and 4th place finish in Youth Ranch Trail.
