The less snuggly of the brothers, Marco, has decided the last week that he would really like to start trusting people enough to curl up with them, instead of just by their feet. He has such pretty eyes!

Seeing this kind of growth is the most rewarding part of the fostering journey, coming in only second to seeing a furbaby thrive in their forever home. 🥰

Both brothers are 9 months old now and still looking for their forever home. At this age, their personalities have blossomed, so you're no longer in the wildly unpredictable stage of kitten-hood.

This, and a crazy amount of fun, are what you can expect with Marco and Polo once they're comfortable. (Doesn't take long for either brother to warm up to humans). 🩵🩵🩵

In 2024, we and so many other rescues and shelters saw record low numbers of adoptions and record high animal abandonment.

When you adopt from us, we have taken substantial time and efforts to make sure the animal is healthy, fully vetted and that we have gotten to know their personalities well. Please consider taking a moment to share. We are really hoping we can find these brothers and the many other kitties (and one dog) their forever homes. Without finding them homes, we are unable to bring in more animals to help.

Marco is a very sweet boy. You likely see more of his brother on our page because Marco tends to be very shy where Polo more than makes up for it. When he cozies up to you like this, it's so stinking rewarding.

He loves his brother Polo so much and wants to be by his side. The pair are never far from one another and this guy needs his lifetime companion.

Velcro kitty Polo here, and his brother Marco, are still looking for their forever home. We were so hoping someone would give them a chance before the holidays.

The brothers were abandoned together in July at a local storefront, fought and won their battle against a nasty case of ringworm right after coming into the rescue, and we would love to see them get their chance at a forever home together.

Their adoption is fully sponsored for the bonded pair of kittens and they're neutered, vaccinated and ready for their new home. At only 7 months old, these healthy boys have a ton of love and life to give to a forever family.

One is a totally snuggly love bug (sticks to you like velcro)- Polo.
The other is a soft spoken, sweet, awesome foot warmer who occasionally works his way up to your lap, but also loves to tease his hoomans and play play play.-Marco.

They would not do well separated (we have tried). Both love to "talk" to whomever will listen, especially if you have food nearby.

Marco and Polo are preparing for their Yoga with Kitties debut tomorrow morning by getting in some good sleep 😴 💤.

We are beyond excited to participate in this event at the Hiawatha Public Library and get these kitties and a handful of others some exposure and social experience with more humans outside of their foster homes.

Friends and followers, we could really use your help.

A lot of local rescues have seen a huge uptick in ringworm with kittens and adult cats. The vets think it's mostly due to weather conditions this year, but it is running rampant.

Our first diagnosis just came in and poor Polo has it starting on his face.

If you're willing to donate cleaning supplies, gloves, paper towels, or anything you've personally used to help control and treat this, we are badly in need.
Food and litter also help, but big focus on environmental sanitization, isolation and control while treating all of our animals as a precaution.

We are hearing from other rescues that there's a particular cleaner that works for the environment, called Rescue OneStep. Image here. Willing to try anything!

Brothers Marco and Polo are resting and healing nicely after their neuter yesterday and fantastic care received at Anamosa Vet Clinic .

The duo is ready for a new home willing to take them both as they are inseparable litter mates.

Marco and Polo were dumped at a local storefront where we stepped in to help.

Sweet, snuggly and also very playful and spunky, this pair has all the love and life to give to a new family.

So we have a pregnant mama just a couple days from giving birth. This is the 6th kitty this summer that have come their our doors. We thankfully were able to place everyone else but Ms. Grey here.
As much as we all love babies, she is a prime example of why we need to spay and neuter our animals.
With this being said this stray mama came asking for help (it's Grey kitty season!) and will be needing some help in the future weeks.

Kitty parents! If you're struggling with the cost of veterinary care and your kitty needs their annual rabies and FVCRP, our friends over at Iowa Humane Alliance are holding a low cost vaccine clinic on June 15th. This is a HUGE savings. Get them up to date and protected.

Keep in mind this is a vaccine and microchip clinic only. If your pet is in need of other veterinary care for illness or other issue, please schedule an appointment with your veterinarian.

Here's Gaten!
Such a very very sweet but extremely shy boy. He loves all other animals, in fact, so much so that he will need to go to a home with some furry siblings. A patient pet parent is a must as well. Gaten would really benefit from a quiet, slow paced home where he can take his time to flourish. Once he's built up trust with his environment his affectionate side will come out.
