We need to talk photography y'all. Stay with me here, because this might be long. Molly M. is our photographer, who brings your puppy's photos "to life" every week. She has been working with us since 2013.

The reason I felt this needed to be brought up was because occasionally puppy buyers and potential puppy buyers get confused because their puppy doesn't look like the same one in the (professional) photos.

Molly M. is a photographer and thus takes professional photos. About a year ago she built a photo booth (an upgrade from the photo light tent!) to allow the puppies more natural movement and to play (safely) while getting their pictures taken. We have a lot of fun with this booth and we LOVE to give visitors a peek behind the curtain! Every week our owners get new pictures of their puppies that we upload to a directory with the date. They can see all of our puppies that week which oftentimes includes the siblings of their puppy.

This week we used Paris (Paisley x Pilgrim), a cream dapple longhair girl, as an example of the different results you will get with various cameras, lighting, etc.

The first photo is the photo booth. You will see she has four studio lights in each corner and her Canon 80D with an external boot flash. (this is all her words, I don't know what any of this means)

The purpose of the studio lights is give the appearance of natural daylight. When Molly M. takes pictures outside, she prefers a cloudy sky, as you get the diluted light but no harsh light or shadows. The photo booth set-up emulates that.

All the following pictures of Paris and her grumpy little self - hopefully they explain what is going on.

The second photo is her professional photo - studio lights, the external boot flash, in all it's glory! Molly M. shoots in RAW+JPEG with her camera and edits in RAW. In this particular photo, she did not change anything at all, simply cropped it, resized it and went on.

Third photo is Paris shot with the Canon 80D and the boot flash, but the studio lights have been turned off. Huge difference!

Fourth photo is Paris shot with the Canon 80D BUT no flash or studio lights

Fifth photo is Paris (being held by Kendra) shot simply with Molly M.'s Google Pixel 7 phone.

I cannot believe that this isabella/cream piebald longhair girl is still available. I have had a lot of interest in her but no deposit! Sn**ch her up before someone else does!

Her name is Monica and she's out of Phoebe and Beethoven. She's on track to be in the 10-11 pound range (this is an estimate, never a guarantee). She's ready for your arms November 7th!

It's just a rat snake! (thank God 🙏)

But it was NOT winning the battle against Puddin (tiny red longhair) and her girl gang. When I took it away, she was BIG MAD! She wanted to finish the job! The prey drive is so strong in these little dachshunds!

Muffin has been returned to use through no fault of her own - the family just wasn't ready for the kind of energy she would bring :-)

She was born June 5th out of Biscuit and Zazu and is a cream brindled piebald longhair female miniature dachshund!

She is charting to be a small girl, around 8.5-9 pounds, although size is never guaranteed. She has started on house training, leash walking, and some basic obedience. She is super sweet, loves to cuddle, and loves to play fetch with her ball.
