Y’all…….I’ve been keeping a secret from you. Most of you know we got peacocks. 🦚

BUT I bet you didn’t know we have been building their coop with a huge attached octagon aviary!! Of course it has turned out to be bigger in real life than in my head but oh well. Go big or go home! That makes three coops for Brandt acres!

Hey friends! I wanted to share with y’all my FAVORITE blueberry farm here in NWA! Farmers support farmers! Rosete Family Farm is in full swing with blueberry season RIGHT NOW! If you have ever grown blueberries you know there is a time frame for picking. So if you are local to northwest Arkansas I urge you to head out to this beautiful family owned farm ASAP!

Kristin and Alex are just amazing humans! Their farm and event venue is breath taking! If you are looking for a picturesque picnic and stroll among rows and rows of fresh ripe beautiful blueberries this is the place! Their meticulous detail to all natural and organic growing makes picking the blueberries even more delicious! Plus they have amazing honey!! Y’all get yourselves out to their farm in Garfield, Arkansas and get some blueberries! 🫐

➡️ we have made lots of progress in 2 days in between the rain! It’s coming together slowly but surely and I can’t wait to fill it with all the seedlings from the greenhouse!!! This is gonna be a beautiful space in just a couple of months!!

One thing about homesteading or just gardening for that matter is the work is never done…..we have grown in this space for now 3 years and each year it evolves in how we grow, what we grow, and our level of focus.

Some years our garden is terrible and some years it’s immaculate sometimes due to detail and sometimes due to weather.

All this to say, this is a journey….enjoy it, be it, LIVE IT! It’s an experience like no other! I’m just here to share what I’m learning and hopefully to inspire you to get out and get your hands dirty!!

PS: don’t stress if your garden isn’t magazine worthy with painted fences and overflowing baskets of flowers and veggies….just be excited you are growing some food!

Where it all started.

Hi everyone, my name is Taylor Brandt I am the founder of Brandt Acres. I’m currently in school for a B.S. in Food Science with minors in Agribusiness and Horticulture. My passion for food started at a young age, my whole family cooked, we always had a garden life was pretty amazing. But I wanted to take my passion and turn it into something around Spring Break 2017 we visited Atlanta, GA and stayed at one of the coolest B&B’s ever, they had chickens, turkeys, goats, ducks all surrounding this amazing property. I fell in love, I knew I wanted to do something with food but running my own urban farm had never been an idea. With Arkansas having close to 50% of the population on some sort of food stamps I knew I had to help combat that. SOOOO here we are, learning through trial and error before the big moves must be made to bring back cooking and cultivating food into the everyday American home. Follow along as we go to market with our produce and change the start of Arkansas!
