Luna practices her toofie grin and Maggie watches Hooman TV
Caleb and I milked tonight. He's our least animal oriented kid but he's learned and is continuing to learn so many good animal management and handling skills.
Normally our two in-milk girls are waiting for us when it's time to milk. We were running late today due to having to put groceries away after homeschool co op. Lovey had given up and meandered back into the field to graze while Maggie stood her ground in the barn mooing in the best acoustically loud spot to register her intense disapproval of said lateness. As soon as we arrived in the barn to start setting up for milking Maggie settled in to watch her hooman TV show while snacking on some hay.
After Maggie got done being milked I went out to call Lovey. Sure wish I'd gotten it on video. She looked up like "Oh my gosh I forgot and now I'm late!!" And took off sprinting as fast as her short little legs could move her chonkiness across the field to me. 😂 Our fat little mature cows don't often run, preferring their sedentary life so it was a hilarious sight.
She came puffing into the barn at a trot and hustled straight into the stanchion before looking back at me like "whew! Made it! That was a close one"
We are so fortunate to have some really really good girls and I love them so ❤️
