Huge shoutout to Rumford Pet Express for their donation of pet food to our pantry!!! We received cat food (wet and dry), dry dog food, some cat litter and dog treats! This will greatly help our clients! Our pantry extension at St. Mary of the Bay Food Pantry has received a good amount of this donation and the below portion is at our main location in Providence featuring one of our Founders cats Princess!

We are setup at Farm Fresh Armory Park Farmers Market from now until 7pm (while supplies last). We only have wet cat food and dry dog food at the event. As a reminder everyone, the market event for today has been cancelled due to lack of volunteers and our Founder being unable to attend due to being diagnosed with COVID.

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our event tomorrow. We don’t have event volunteers and our Founder is unable to medically tolerate the extreme heat due to her MS. This does bring up an important issue about the need for volunteers. Without dedicated individuals coming forward to help with events etc. we don’t know how much longer we will be able to stay open.

Exciting things happening at our markets this week! A beer and wine garden plus an artists market at Armory Market on Thursday, plus some great community groups at the Broad St Market. Visit your local farmers market this week!

We are in need of cat food urgently. Our secondary location at St. Mary of the Bay Food Pantry is out and our main location has less than 30 lbs left. This is not enough to sustain the need that there is at our secondary location alone, not counting our summer market events (will be posted and updated on our website over the next coming days). We need your help! Please share this post, donate from our Amazon wishlist if you can, etc.

As a reminder, we are closed until we’ve fully moved/stocked up again on much needed food and essentials. We’ve estimated we will be closed until our next distribution event at the end of June. We will no longer continue to answer calls, texts or emails as we are closed and do not appreciate the vulgar language being given to us when we advise this in response to requests for assistance which are not accepted through any means except our forms which are closed as well due to us being closed. Once we do re-open those who could not adhere to our rules regarding being vulgar/kind will not be able to utilize the pantry either way.

During our move our pickup/delivery box flew off the truck on the highway and by the time we noticed and went back to where it was last seen, it was already taken. We really need another one. We’d appreciate any assistance getting another one as without it we will not be able to keep deliveries/pickup orders safe once we are back open.

Effective immediately we will be shutdown until the end of June at our main location. If you are in need of services before then you’ll have to visit our secondary location in Warren at St. Mary of the Bay Food Pantry during their open hours on Tuesday and Wednesday. Once we are open at our main location again we will make a post here.

We want to THANK Rumford Pet Express for their generous donation of much needed pet food and supplies to our pantry! At a crucial time where we had to shutdown our Requests for Assistance due to lack of inventory to meet demand and serving only at mobile events this helped tremendously! We are pleased to announce this has allowed us to supply our Warren pantry extension at St. Mary of the Bay Food Pantry for the next month (baring demand) and allow us to reopen Requests for Assistance at our main location in Providence! FOUR PAWS UP!

Don’t forget we will be at Farm Fresh Rhode Island tomorrow from 9am-1pm. We have one bag of cat food remaining and a limited supply of dry dog food. It’ll go fast so make sure you are there as close to opening time as possible. We’ve shutdown Requests for Assistance until we have received more donations in as our inventory does not allow outside mobile events for distribution. It’s been a good solid 4 months without the normal amount of donations we usually get in which has drastically impacted this decision to ensure that we can still assist those on a more limited scale rather than shutting down altogether until we get more donations. Make sure to review our Events section and our website for specific event information.

As a reminder, appointment requests are requests- not guarantees. We allow double booking due to no shows and several other reasons where someone would have to cancel last minute. We allow double booking to maximize those who need assistance to get access to the food and supplies they need, if we are scheduled for double booking it will still show as available and you may have to select a different day, do not give an attitude to us (or call us scam artists - you will be banned) for advising you need to select another time - it is for a reason. If we used single slot appointments, 3 people alone today wouldn’t have received food because 3 people who booked no showed, confirmed after the required time frame and had to cancel - all on the same day.

We do not have the capacity to handle appointments any other way, or to assist with how to book appointments, it is a very explanatory process done through our page. Do keep this in mind when advised to book an appointment online.
