Well gang, we made it another revolution around the sun. It's 2024 and here in Centralia it's gray and dreary but not raining, yet. Tomorrow is going to be another story though as it will have a 90%+ chance of raining. It's also going to be a very weird day around here for us. See, my neighbor across the street was having a problem with his heater shutting off right after it came on. This happened repeatedly. He knocked at my door and I asked him if the breaker was thrown. He didn't know where the breaker box was. I went over and found the breaker box right away. Nothing was thrown. This was like 10 days ago. Told him to get an electrician out. To make the story shorter, he did get an HVAC tech out who told him to change the filters in his heater. He did that. Then stuff like his washer/dryer stopped working. Toaster worked but microwave didn't. Called out an electrician who found his "box" outside that connects the city electricity to his home died. The key on the thing said something like 1948 was the last time anyone had checked it. Well the city claimed it was their property and they would send a crew out on 12/26. I woke up to male voices outside my bedroom window and one growly GSD. Sonnie was not happy there were "aliens invading" his turf. So I got up and went out to see what these people were doing. They were fussing with this big metal box (4 ft x 4 ft x 4 ft) trying to pry the lid open. They finally got it open and then all four of them stood there looking at the multitude of wires the size of a man's thumb that were all shoved in this box. NONE OF THE WIRES WERE LABELED! The Locator person (sprays paint on your grass) said the box fed electricity to 18 different houses and they were going to have to cut the power to the entire park and then disconnect or test each wire to see which one had failed. WHAT? The entire park? For how long. "Oh at least 4 hours, more likely 8, possibly a couple of days." "This should have been replaced 20 years ago." So we will be without power of any sort probably all of tomorrow, you know, when it's supposed to rain like crazy. No heat, no refrigerator, no wonder I'm gray! Battery back up is charged but I will shut down everything tonight. I have a battery tank so in case I need to recharge my cell phone I can do that rather quickly or I can load everyone up in the van and we can go for an extended drive while our electronics charge on the van. 2024 is starting off being a pain!!! If you need me, reach out via my cell phone with messenger or text message. I will respond as necessary. Meanwhile, I'm going to sit here and mumble into my coffee. Jim already sent his supervisor a copy of the notice we were given yesterday about the power outage. If he can't work for just 1 day that's one thing but beyond that he will have to see if he is allowed to work from his laptop or my laptop. mumble, mumble, mumb. . . . . .

Hi Gang! I am SO EXCITED to announce Anarak has partnered with Chelsea Bloomberg, UX Designer, to develop a new website for the Anarak Event Services/Show Secretary Services we provide. In an effort to make entering shows easier for all of our exhibitors, we’d like to get some information from the exhibitors, so we can iron out any existing kinks you may find, not only with our present system but also for any other system you may work with. I understand that you probably get lots of e-mails asking you to complete a survey but I’m not asking, I’m begging you to spend like 5 minutes answering the survey on this link. Please know that we will never use your information for any purpose other than to make this website the best it can be. We would especially like to hear from you if you exhibit at other than the AKC (i.e. UKC, CKC, CFA, etc.), do you show your veterans or beginner puppies? (See how easy the questions are?) IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to the COVID-19 National Emergency, The German Shepherd Dog Club of Austin has decided to cancel their April 4-5, 2020 Specialty shows. All entries received will be returned to the exhibitors. It is as yet undetermined how the AKC will handle rescheduling of the shows involved in this emergent situation. We are sorry if this decision has impacted your showing plans in any way and look forward to seeing all of you in the future.
