An example of polymorphism in Armadillidium vulgare. A. vulgare can display varying amounts of yellow and white, some with none at all, others with large amount. These aren't mutations so can't be replicated with certainty. Selective breeding is the only option for increasing the odds of similar variations.
Need a fun date idea? Take your significant other out to find and compare variations of A. vulgare. You'll always find a new one.

Will be mixing up a batch soon. What formulas do you use?

FS (flake soil) is a type of highly regarded substrate that is suitable for the rearing of beetle larvae. It can be made at home quite easily by adding various additives to sawdust and fermenting it for a period of time until it turns into a uniform, soil-like substrate.

On behalf of the Barczyk family and our entire team at The Reptarium, it is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian Barczyk.

More than the guiding light of our organization, Brian's fervent passion for reptiles and wildlife, along with his steadfast dedication to education, has touched innumerable hearts and minds globally.

Our deepest sympathies are with Brian's family, his friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. We've lost an exceptional individual – a visionary, mentor, and friend. For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Brian's absence leaves an immeasurable void.
As we navigate this difficult time, we find comfort in the memories and the lasting light of Brian's work. He will be deeply missed but indeed, never forgotten.

The Barczyk family invites you to join us for a Public Memorial Walk-through to honor Brian’s memory. The event will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Heritage Church, located at 44625 Schoenherr Rd. Sterling Heights, MI 48313 from 1-3pm.

So, the word has come in, Brian Barczyk is at the end of his battle with cancer. He’s back home and spending his final hours with his family. The hobby owes him a debt of gratitude and so do I for igniting my passion for ball pythons many years ago. My heart is with his family. May the end be peaceful and full of love.

Edit: I said that he was back home based on several posts I saw saying so. Now I only see one up from the Ohio Expo peeps. You can search Brian’s name to see it. Regardless he himself posted a video on instagram stories that’s expired that stated his Drs said he was at the end. I absolutely don’t want to spread any misinformation. I just want to be transparent because some people wanted to know.
