What a great day of firsts for Alyssa Jastram and Pax (Carl Timothy). First competition, first dressage test, first XC course. Doing it all in style. They went out in each phase and executed our plan!! They finished on their dressage score! FOD!

We had a fantastic day Cross Country Schooling at Great Hopes XC. We took horses from just beginning 2nd XC school, up to novice and got a great educational school for all levels. Love having this little jewel in our preverbal back yard!! The footing was great as well as a good assortment of jumps for all levels.
Fox Hill Eventing is Looking for motivated working student for a 3 day eventing program. Professional Rider and Trainer ICP Level III Instructor, Licensed FEI XC Course Designer, is looking for dedicated person to help with daily barn work, riding, and grooming. Lots of on the job training. The ability to expand your knowledge of horsemanship, riding, competition skills, training etc. Have had successful students through the 4 and 5 star level, with International coaching experience. Fox Hill Eventing is looking for a long term, hard working, self motivated single individual to start as soon as possible. Great opportunity for someone wanting to improve their riding and competition skills as well as gain knowledge in horse care and management. Lovely low key facility, 7 stall barn and pasture board. Dressage ring, jump field, some x-c and lots of room to gallop! 6 days per week. Duties include feeding, turning in and out, blanketing, small amount of stall cleaning, some grooming at shows, tack cleaning etc.. Fabulous day schooling at Windurra with Macie Brock riding Andi who was looking fantastic for her first school back since Aiken, seems like they haven’t missed a day. Raymond Coutley riding Kiesha Varney’s Willow who had a foot perfect school over some challenging questions. Lucy Dennis riding Jan Murphy Charnock’s gelding Connor who is getting back into training formerly ridden by Lisa Marie Fergusson. Lucy also riding Carolyn Nordberg’s up and coming 4yo dressage horse Dylan on his first XC school. and Nichole White riding Clippy gaining Nichole’s confidence and having a great time. Thanks to super groom Virginia Lee for keeping people hydrated and horses happy and Andrea Brock for the top camera work.

Successful day at Plantation Field! Team Foxhill went to their first show jump and cross country schooling since Aiken! Whitney Stevens and Gambler put in two nice show jump rounds in the starter division. Lisa Spanbald rode Gambler cross country, Gambler has come a long way! Macie Brock rode her own Windchase Andromeda and had two outstanding rounds at the beginner novice level. Macie and Andi had an amazing cross country school, ending the day with jumping some novice and training fences. Alyssa Jastram and Kingdom Minded jumped two rounds in the beginner novice and starter divisions. Alyssa and King had a great cross country school and jumped a couple of novice fences! A big thank you to Mara Stark for taking videos.

Foxhill Eventing had a great day cross country schooling at Stable View. Macie Brock rode Windchase Andromeda, Raymond Coutley rode Navier Stokes, Lana Wulf rode Crown, Mogie Bearden-Muller rode Kiesha Varneys’ Color Me Gone, Lisa Spanbald rode Shari Goodsteins’ Gambler, and Kaylyn Cunningham rode Mogies FH Eclipse and Kays Ollivander. It was a very successful day for all of these riders and horses. Thank you Alyssa Jastram for sitting out the day and being a great videographer.
FHE had a successful outing at Bruces Field’s Opening Day! Mogie Bearden-Muller rode Wegaz in the dressage schooling ring and jumped Naven in the Novice SJ ring. Alyssa Jastram rode Kenny in the hunter ring. Kenny gained a lot of confidence and jumped everything he was asked. Macie Brock rode Windchase Andromeda (Andi) in the Hunter ring. They did great in their first jump schooling together. Lisa Spanbald, FHE’s new working student from Austria, rode Toro in the dressage ring. Everyone did great! The team can’t wait to see what this 2022 season brings.
Foxhill Eventing has started their 2022 season in Aiken, SC. They had four riders participate in Stable View’s Eventing Academy in December. Mogie Bearden-Muller rode Oaken Grove Giselle (Ellie) in the dressage test of choice and scored a 23.4 on Novice Test A. Alyssa Jastram rode Wegaz in the Novice Test A. This was Wegaz’s first time out in a year and they did great. Macie Brock rode Windchase Andromeda (Andi) in their first outing together in the Novice test A. They did Amazing and are becoming a beautiful pair. Lastly, Ray Coutley rode Navier Stokes in the Novie CT. They had their best dressage test to date and a double clear jump round!
Everyone went cross country schooling the day before as well. Alyssa rode Wegaz (Wegaz’s first time going cross country), Macie rode Andi, Ray rode Naven, And Whitney rode Kenny.

Kirby is working on developing his dressage skills as well as being an excellent cadenced jumper while being in the care of a professional trainer.
Kirby is naturally built uphill and is a comfortable forward ride, consistent to all types of jumps. He has been a very healthy sound horse and has a delightful puppy dog personality. He’s great for the vet and farrier and loads easily. Kirby is happy to live in or out and is okay turned out with geldings or mares. He is also quite the handsome guy, very easy to look at!

Foxhill Eventing had a wonderful jump school at Plantation Field today. Alyssa Jastram rode King , Reagan Dyer rode Allyson Ravarino Haselman’s Josie, Whitney Stevens rode Lola, and Mogie rode Raymond Coutley’s Cole. Super proud of everyone.
Today team Foxhill went to Stable Views clear round jumper schooling show. It was an excellent experience for all of our horses. The course was great, it was a forward thinking course and good school for the upcoming events. We were in and out thanks to the wonderful staff keeping things going and the start and finish times for each division. We will definitely be attending the next in February
Our Riders Raymond Coutley, Lyss Renee, and Macie Brock had great rounds on their horses. A big thank you to our new working students Reagan Dyer and Samantha Simmons.
Team Fox Hill has moved to Aiken, South Carolina for the winter, and today we competed at Stable View’s Eventing Academy. Competing we had Ray Coutley, riding Navier Stokes (Naven) in all three phases, and Colenomer (Cole) in dressage. Naven got a 26.9 in dressage and went double clear both show jumping and cross country, leaving him with 2nd place in the bNovice division. Cole got a 28.3 on his first dressage test with Ray. We also had Whitney Stevens riding Lola. Lola got a 33.3 in dressage, knocked one rail in stadium, and had a clear cross country round with zero faults. This was Lola’s first ever Beginner Novice at 20 years old. Our last duo competing was Alyssa Jastram riding Helena Hurry (Timmie). Timmie had a 39.7 in dressage. They got eliminated in show jumping because Alyssa went off course but rode extremely well! Timmie was able to do cross country for fun and had a double clear, educational round. Overall, it was a great day for Team Fox Hill. We are happy to be settled in Aiken for the winter!

Team Fox Hill went out to Adamstown, Maryland yesterday to compete in the Maryland Horse Trials and Area II Eventing Championships. Competing in the trials, Fox Hill had Ray Coutley and Diane Zrimsek. They both competed at the novice level, and Diane competed in the open championship division. Diane had a fantastic day ending on her dressage score of 27.40. She had two clean jump rounds following her solid dressage test. She and her horse Coronado Charlie (Chazz) left the arena with all smiles, finishing off the day as reserved champion in the novice championships and taking first place novice adult rider. Ray, although not as lucky in the ribbons, had an amazing day to boost up his education. He and his horse Navier Stokes (Naven) had a very good dressage test, but unfortunately had some difficulties in both jump rounds. Although not the best score wise, their knowledge going into the next event will be that much more developed, as they reflect back on the day. Overall a great day, and with no rain (!), for Team Fox Hill. We are looking forward to competing in more competitions as we enter the winter season heading down to Aiken, SC in just under two months. East Coast Championships was a success!!
Wrapping up the week of August 1st with very happy riders, coaches, and horses all around, both Mogie and ALyssa did a fantastic job with Wegaz in each test they did.
Alyssa had a very successful week competing the Training level test 3 coming out with scores in the 70’s! Her highest score being a 75% - a very impressive win for her first time competing Wegaz, as well as her first time out at a Championship competition.
Mogie, competing in the open division, also had a very successful week. She and Wegaz came out on top after bringing in Team Fox Hill’s highest score of the week, a 76.2%. No pain no gain as Mogie said after getting rear ended just a month before.
Wegaz, our little Arab man, out did himself as he had the two highest scores in the English Dressage division out of the entire competition field. To top it off, this was Wegaz’s first time competing with a junior rider. Alyssa and Wegaz did their best work, and it without a doubt, payed off in their favor.
Both Mogie and Alyssa took home the gold, coming out as champions in the Sport Horse Undersaddle - Dressage Type, both in the Limited Rider, and Open divisions. Although it was challenging to work around the USEF COVID-19 protocols, we still had a fun and exciting week enjoying the company of Wegaz’s wonderful owner, Sonya Osborne and Alyssa’s mother, Jastrum.

After a long "corona-cation" from Facebook, we're back and ready to share our most recent updates with you! The farm has been changing since we last saw everyone; the biggest change being our new working students. Seeing as our previous two students have moved on after completing their time at Fox Hill, we are excited to announce our new working students Isabella Galbo O'brien and Erinn Frantz-Bush. Katie Wilkins, one of our previous working students, has moved down to Flordia after accepting a new position with Marilyn Little. We're excited to see where she is headed in the future. Isabella, fresh out of the University of Findlay, and Erinn, fresh out of high school, have been phenomenal additions to Team Fox Hill. Both girls are from New York State and bring the New York energy to their work every day. Isabella with her horse Pogie, who has been recently posted for sale, is working hard on expanding their knowledge in dressage. Erinn on the other hand, coming in with her horse Beau, is a less experienced team ready to take on the challenge of eventing. Sticking with us is our part-time working student Alyssa Jastram who has recently started a long term lease with her new horse Timmie. Bare with us as the deluge of posts start coming in from our recent events! We are excited to share what's in store for the rest of the time here in Centreville, MD, as well as our time spent down in Aiken, SC.
P.S. a shout-out to Rich for doing his best to keep up with mowing the grass that has been growing tremendously as a result of the 12 inches of rain that Maryland has gotten recently!!
Just A Daredevil (Pogie) is a 14 year old, 16.1 hh OTTB gelding. Pogie is a dressage prospect best suited for an adult amateur or junior looking to move up the levels. He is an uncomplicated ride and is currently schooling 2nd level dressage. Pogie has an excellent temperament with good ground manners. He is the same horse on and off property, loads easily and will patiently stand on or tied to the trailer at shows, and for the farrier. He is also great out on trails and happily hacks alone or in a group. Pogie does well with individual or group turnout, and is quiet & clean in a stall. Located in Centreville, MD. Everyone competed in the Novice division, making the day full of friendly competitions!!
Ray Coutley, riding Navier Stokes, finished up on their Dressage score! Ray was the highest placed AA of the day in the Open Novice division! The two received a qualifying finish for the AECs in 2020! Congratulations!
Mogie, riding Quebracho Z (owned by Raymond Coutley) finished 1st in their Open Novice division! The pair finished on their Dressage score as well & also received another qualifying win for the AEC’s in 2020!
Stacy Iacono, riding Madeket Road, rode in their 2nd Novice HT of the year! The pair made it through the challenging XC course double clear! The pair also had an awesome SJ round with a lot of educational decisions and a relaxed manner! These two are always looking ahead and preparing for the next challenge! Great job!
Dianne Zrimsek, riding Coronado Charlie, completed their 1st Novice HT since March 2018! The pair finished 3rd and went double clear on XC! The challenging XC course was no problem for the pair! These two also finished on their dressage score, great job!
Great job to all the riders who competed! The day was filled with great rides, good sportsmanship & great horsemanship! Congrats to everyone! Good memories made here at Fair Hill!

This past Sunday at The Maryland HT @ Loch Moy Farm was a really good day for Team Fox Hill!
Mogie, Ray & Stacy all placed top 5 within their Novice division classes!!
Mogie riding Quebracho Z, known as Toro, owned by Ray Coutley placed 1st in their Open Novice division!! These two finished on their dressage score of 24.3, which ended being low score of the day!!
Ray riding Navier Stokes, known as Naven, is owned and ridden by Ray. The pair placed 4th in the Novice division! These two also finished on their dressage score of 33.3!
Stacy Iacono riding Madaket Road, known as Doodle, is owned and ridden by Stacy. These two finished 3rd in the Novice Division as well! The pair also finished on their dressage score of 32.9!
This was a move up for each of these pairs, way to go Team Fox Hill!
Thank you Gabby for another set of fabulous braids and sending Toro out into the ring looking amazing & to Alyssa, who is our newest young rider at the farm, for helping out at the show while soaking in all of the fun that eventing has to offer!

It has been a fairly busy Fourth of July for us here at the Virginia Horse Center! Wegaz (Owned By Sonya Osborne) has been competing in Under Saddle classes & dressage tests with Mogie; competing in the In Hand classes with owner Sonya and In Hand trainer Larry Jones. Wegaz is competing at the Arabian Horse Association Region 15 All Arabian Championship Horse Show.
Currently Wegaz has placed Champion, Reserved Champion & First in a range of classes! He has been a super star & in a well mannered mood all week!
*Wegaz received Champion in his Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Open Dressage Type Class w/ Mogie!
*Wegaz received a Reserve Champion in his Arabian Sport Horse Under Saddle Open Hunter Type Class w/ Mogie!
*Wegaz received a Reserve Champion in his Arabian Sport Horse In Hand 2 & over Gelding In Hand Open Hunter Type Class w/ Larry.
*Wegaz received 1st place with a 71% in his USEF First level Dressage Test which was going on during the Championship Show!
