Went out to visit our beautiful ranch born boy today at their Equestrian team meet in Hastings and they did so good! Here’s their results from the day!

3rd in Flags
1st in barrels, had the fastest time of the entire day out of 20+ horses
3rd in Steaks Race
2nd in 2 Man Relay
6th in Reining

Had a great workout today really focusing on getting Trooper to rate his barrels and not swing his hip out coming out of that second. This pair learns so fast all the time! We even had ourselves a little audience learning from the sidelines!

His barrel run gets its own post!

I’ve never let him have his speed yet, and today I decided I was going to but I never thought he was have the same idea!

I got him in his circle and he was hell bent on running. I never once kicked him or pushed him, I just leaned down on him and growled and he did the rest!

He is going to be one hell of a horse to beat, that I am certain! Only his 5th run at a show and he almost beat Jessie’s time at Kal Val from earlier this year, and was exactly 1 second off of my mom’s fast geldings time. I’m so excited for our future!

PROUD PROUD PROUD

I am a big believer on taking these young horses to the smaller shows in the beginning of their careers instead of these big shows and legit rodeos with a lot of commotion because a lot of times that can be overstimulating for them and it can make them a little nutty early on. So that’s why lately I have focused on the small shows for Tuff. And today he really showed me he was ready!

We have had a few bumpy spots with him but today at Kal Val he didn’t show a single issues with me. He did all of these classes he has never even seen before but he thought he knew what he was doing!

Kegs: ended up being a DQ bc he was a little confused but it was the first class of the day

Speed & Action: 14.968, 3rd place

Poles: 31.569, 4th place ( I was amazed he even switched his feet!

Barrels: will make a separate post bc it was amazing for him!

Flags: DQ, ran a 15.061 ( if you look good they set the flag facing away from me and I grabbed it but it slipped outta my hand)

Down & Back: 9.154, 2nd place. (I was gunning for mom and shorty, they only beat me by a little with a 9.120!)

I’m so proud of my boy, he did amazing today!

Got this little surprise from Crazy Pony Design tonight! I am sooo in love with the koozie! And the air freshener is such a cool idea!

Anyone let me know if you’d be interested in getting any of this, ESPECIALLY the koozie let me know! Definitely wanna get more of those done!
