Hey, it’s been awhile since I made a post with it being the busiest time of year. With EHD hitting our area pretty hard this fall, I have been able to keep up with skinning and turning but the number of deer that hunters are seeing and bucks being taken are definitely down this year for the area.
I will continue to take in deer, birds, and fish through December 23rd but after that I will be shutting down drop offs for the time being until I can catch some things up. I will continue to update my page with mounts that I’m working on or when I plan to start taking mounts again. I am NOT quitting, just backlogged so if there is something you want me to mount, just store it for the time being or get it to me before the 23rd.
I spent 5 weeks in 2024 working with some of the best taxidermists in the country to improve my skills. This took me places like Upper Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Missouri. Some techniques I learned take longer than in the past, but are more efficient and the amount of details in the mounts set them apart from a lot of others. I want to continue improving, to create the best mounts for my customers at an affordable price while catching up my turnaround times.

Just a reminder to buy your deer slugs, muzzleloader bullets, and rifle ammunition before gun season gets here. You have 5 weeks to get prepared. Don’t be the person posting the night before asking people where you can find them .

With the season kicking off here is a list of products I carry in my shop with prices for each.
I have bought similar products from chain stores over the years only to be disappointed with the smell and quality of the product.
I’ve been using RAW deer scents for 7 years now and only became a dealer for the products last season.
I use the products around where I am hunting and in the trees that I’m sitting in for cover scent. This product is the top of the line for deer scent products.

Today, I accepted the role as Master Instructor, offered by the Department of Natural Resources Illinois for Macon County. I have been involved with the hunter safety program for over 10 years now, while getting hundreds of people through the program with the help of so many other volunteers.
I look forward helping others in the future achieve their right to hunt and enjoy the outdoors. Our next class is coming up fast September 6th & 7th. If you need to sign up please let me know.
