⭐PRESS RELEASE⭐
🏆Chagrin Valley Farms Expands Riding Academy to Grow the Future of Equestrian Sports🏆

Chagrin Falls, Ohio – Since 1983, Chagrin Valley Farms has proudly supported Northeast Ohio’s equestrian community. To ensure the continued growth of our sport, we are excited to announce a significant expansion of our Riding Academy, designed to increase access to high-quality training for riders of all ages and levels. This initiative will allow us to welcome more individuals into the world of riding while fostering the next generation of equestrian talent.

Led by Head Trainer Aubrey Fait, the Academy offers a welcoming environment for riders of all levels, providing personalized instruction and access to affordable, well-trained horses through our new sale horse program. We are also introducing Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) and Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) programs to support the growth of young riders.

As part of this expansion, we are adjusting our show schedule, particularly in the winter months, to provide aspiring riders with more opportunities to develop their skills. While maintaining a full calendar of shows throughout the year, this shift allows us to focus on building strong foundations for riders through our Riding Academy during the winter season.

In alignment with these changes, we are announcing the following changes to our winter show schedule:

📌We will host one 'A'-Rated Hunter/Jumper show from December 5-8 instead of the usual two December Shows
📌Our winter dressage series will be not be held this year, and NODA shows will resume in the spring.

At Chagrin Valley Farms, our goal is to make riding more accessible and nurture new talent. By focusing on education and development through our expanded Academy, we are creating opportunities for riders of all ages to grow and succeed. This approach will help ensure the future success of equestrian sports in our region, fostering a strong and supportive riding community.

For more information on the Chagrin Valley Farms Riding Academy and partnership opportunities, please visit www.chagrinvalleyfarms.com for more details or contact Justin Klein, Director of Operations, at [email protected].

Whether you are new to riding, looking to improve your skills, or returning after time off, our lesson program has options for all levels and ages of riders with quality instructors. >>

‼️ WE'RE HIRING! THE SEARCH IS ON FOR THE NEXT CVF BARN MANAGER ‼️

🐎Be a part of something great in the making! This is a major growth period for the farm, and we are searching for a great Barn Manager to join our passionate and enthusiastic team of equestrians in building and maintaining a strong foundation for all of our riding and boarding programs.

The Chagrin Valley Farms barn manager is responsible for implementing the day-to-day care plan for CVF school and boarded horses and for facility maintenance, under the guidance of the Head Trainer, through management of the facilities and horse care team (stable team).

Primary Duties
📌Manages the facilities and horse care team day-to-day, ensuring adherence to standards of work and staff time schedules
📌Provides initial training and continuing training of staff members to properly care for, turn-out, feed, and provide initial emergency medical treatment for horses as needed.
📌Plans and implements the feeding program for school and boarder horses with, and under direction of, the head trainer
📌Assists with veterinary emergencies by providing initial care and implementing prescribed treatment plans
Maintains schedules for farrier, dental, vet, chiropractic care of horses
📌Supervises the daily turnout plan for horses
📌Performs routine farm maintenance as needed (fencing repairs, pasture mowing, stable repairs, etc.), in cooperation with the Director of Operations and Maintenance Supervisor
📌Manages safe and healthy pastures for all horses on the property, and inspects them and fences daily for damage
📌Administers Vaccines, Wormer, Supplements and Medications to horses as needed
📌Inspects horses daily for signs of illness or injury and reports to head trainer for treatment or coordination of veterinary visits.
📌Orders Grain weekly and other materials as needed (hay, bedding, etc)
📌Performs misc. client and horse services as needed (such as body clipping, mane pulling, and therapeutic treatments, etc.)
📌Assists the head trainer with maintenance of equine records using Stable Secretary
📌Any other job or work as directed by management to support farm operations (show preparation tasks, support to special events, etc.)

*This position will require the incumbent to carry up to 50 lbs regularly, perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, standing, and walking for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
⭐3-5+ Years experience minimum as a barn/stable manager at a similar type of facility, with particular experience in equine health and nutrition, equine first aid, etc.
⭐Experience with Stable Secretary preferred, not required
⭐Significant riding experience and ability preferred, but not required

Desired Qualities:
⭐Strong Organizational Skills – With so much to manage daily, it’s essential that the Barn manager is organized and disciplined in adhering to standards of time and work
⭐Extensive horse knowledge – Since he or she is often the one overseeing each horse’s daily care and feeding, it’s important for the barn manager to have a solid understanding of equine nutrition, basic equine medical treatments, and all elements of daily horse care.
⭐Great interpersonal skills – A barn manager often interacts with both employees and clients on a daily basis, and therefore he or she needs to be an effective communicator with the ability to also listen to and work with others, and to deal with any conflict or problems should they arise. The attitude of the barn manager often really sets the tone for the barn environment – either positively or negatively.
⭐Dedication – Barn management is not a 9-5 job. It can often mean long hours and 24/7 availability should a problem or emergency situation arise, and the horses in the program are likely never far out of the barn manager’s mind even when he or she is away from the barn. Dedication to the job and to the horses is a key to not only success as a great barn manager, but also to true enjoyment of the job.
⭐Enthusiasm and Resilience-We want a team member and manager who works hard and takes their job seriously, but is also a pleasure to work with even on the challenging days. We work hard, but we like to stay light-hearted and have fun also!
