Many of you have been asking what this whole MuttScrub - All Natrual Shampoo-ch - is all about? Well when my dog developed a skin issue – an itchy, aggravating, skin issue – I immediately wanted to help her out & started looking for an anti itch shampoo. What I quickly noticed was that most of the popular “anti-itch” products for dogs contained Hydrocortisone Acetate (a corticosteroid). According

to WebMD Hydrocortisone Acetate is a “medication used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash). Hydrocortisone acetate reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions.” That sounded amazing and just what my dog needed to help her out… until I got to the side effects & precautions! COMMON side effects of Hydrocortisone Acetate according to WebMD are “stinging, burning, irritation, dryness, or redness at the application site. Acne, excessive hair growth, folliculitis, skin thinning, or stretch marks”. Some of the more severe side effects are “rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing”…. So wait… The solution to my dogs itchy, aggravating skin issue is a medication that may cause her to feel stinging, burning, irritation, dryness or redness? Turns out… Hydrocortisone Acetate WAS NOT the answer I was looking for! So, back to Google I went! This time looking for “all natural” products… I found a ton & spent a ton… Now I’ve got a cabinet full of products that didn’t work. Most of them instructed you to scrub the already aggravated area or use multiple times a day (who has time for that??). After wasting plenty of time and money I decided to make my own natural shampoo that would be affordable & effective while pleasant and safe for the whole family. After doing a ton of research I turned to essential oils, by using a handful of oils I was able to come up with an antifungal & antibacterial product that was gentle and offered immediate soothing relief to the skin! The oils are affective at providing soothing relief for hot spots, dermatitis, itching, & other skin irritations while providing a broad spectrum of healing to stop the problem! How do the oils in our shampoo work for your furbaby?

1. Lavender Oil is considered to have a variety of benefits for dogs and is a must have oil for your dog! It’s very safe and gentle, antibacterial, anti-itch and nerve calming. It is an excellent oil to help calm dogs that are fearful, agitated, hyperactive or anxious. It is a natural pleasant smelling repellent for pesky insects.
2. Eucalyptus Oil is widely used for its numerous health benefits, and is especially known as an antiviral, anti-inflammatory and expectorant. Like lavender oil, Eucalyptus oil is another pleasant smelling oil that can help to repel pesky parasites. In additional to repelling it can provide soothing relief to skin after insect bites, stings or skin rashes.
3. Peppermint Oil is a wonderful natural insect repellent that also helps to promote circulation. It works great to treat dermatitis, hot spots and reduces flaky skin.
4. Chamomile oil is known as an antispasmodic, analgesic and nerve calming oil that is good for soothing the central nervous system.
5. Cedarwood oil is known for its antiseptic, tonifying and circulation stimulating properties. It’s good for skin and coat conditioning and dermatitis. Cedarwood is also a natural insect repellent!
6. Citronella oil is added in for its natural insect repellent properties! Once I noticed the calming and soothing effect our products had on our own furbabies we decided to find a prettier way to bottle it up and share it amongst all of our friends and family! Now that we’re getting positive feedback from other’s we’ve decided to make our natural, soothing, affordable and effective products available to all furbabies! So if your furbaby needs help to stop suffering from hot spots, constant scratching and general skin dermatitis please give our Shampoo-ch & Crème De La Pooch a try!
