Last baby peachick for the year, unless I find another nest. Unfortunately her 5 eggs were not fertile, since the male was already moulting. But she hatched the egg I added to her nest. The hen and baby are available. Opal silver pied hen with a purple peachick. Spectrum Ranch---Chamberlain South Dakota.

Hay feeders from Common Sense manufacturing arrived, I ordered them a couple weeks ago at Dakotafest. I bought some last year and they have worked well for the large variety of animals we have.

The brush.
The bleach water.
Scrubbing bird dishes and waterers. All I need is the coveralls at I'll look like I just stepped out of the NPIP poultry testing class video! We have more test requirements on birds than any other livestock. I have to do more paperwork to sell a chicken than a cow.

I had the incubator turned off for a while. But had to turn it back on as I had peafowl eggs under a broody duck and found a community nest of guineas they couldn't cover all the eggs by themselves. Plus 2 of my turkey hens were nesting when I sold them. So started the incubator back up to finish out the eggs. Send a private message if you're interested.

Trip going from Chamberlain SD to Sheridan WY on Saturday August 24. Can meet anywhere along i90. Orders need to be set up by Friday afternoon. And on miniature donkeys or horses, needs to be set up ASAP to get coggins done.

I've been procrastinating making this post.....
The flood destroyed most of the bird pens. My brother helped to patch a bunch to functional. Until he mentioned " have you thought about when we get snow this winter" .......... Because they are twisted, buckled and no longer square, I don't think they will be able to support the weight of the snow. So I've made the decision to sell most of the pheasants and some other birds that are at the South Dakota ranch. We have moved some to the Wisconsin farm, but we are still over capacity at both farms for the pens we have. We have sold a lot already, but have a variety available yet.
We typically keep multiple pens of the same species. So listing a pair of pheasants....... We may have started with 5 or 6 pairs available.
And when Mary Chevalier passed away, I purchased the last of her pheasants that included lots of Peach Golden's and her Red Golden's that are the Chengdu/Birr line.
We are offering most of our pheasants, some duck species and domestic poultry as available, they are split between our 2 farms. We have not been shipping birds thru USPS for a few years. As we are 2.5 away hours from were we have to mail them so they get sent in a timely manner. But we travel a fair amount in the Midwest. So far planning to keep our swans, crane and geese.

One of this week's project will be to TRY and get photos of the miniature calves........ These are the 3 bottle calf mini heifers, which are definitely old enough to be weaned but still getting a bottle each evening. We have other calves that are still with the cows, but will be weaning soon. Spectrum Ranch Chamberlain South Dakota.

Lunch time for the baby Quaker parrots..... Video is from a few days ago, first few days I use a pipette to start handfeeding. Now they eat out of a syringe so it's even easier and quicker.
