Happy Training Tuesday! Does your pup know how to 'Stay'? If you have a rambunctious buddy this may seem like an impossible feat, but if you break it down for your best friend it becomes a fun game and a bonding experience. Start when your dog is already relaxed, and stand just a couple of feet away. Slowly take a step away, then return and reward with kibble or another 'low-value' treat (so she doesn't get too excited, as she might with, say, steak). As you give her the treat, say 'Stay'. When you have played this game for a day or two, make it more challenging by taking five steps away. Then try ten. Next level is walking through a doorway or out of sight.
