Our boys Pokey and Pauley needed new trees. They are good pals and we had a 40” x 24” in our stock so we swapped the two old ones for one big one. We still need to vet wrap it and put the turf on the base, but it looks like it was a hit!!!!

Harvest season is in full swing!!!! We take pride in only harvesting our Manzanita legally, from specific zones in northern Arizona regions of the USFS, and within our permit. We have even spoken with the local USFS Officers to verify that we are doing it correctly. We have 1 load seasoned, a second almost seasoned, a third freshly cut yesterday, and we will get one more to fill our storage area. Let the building begin!!!!!

This thing is HUGE!!!!! The client wanted a tree for their African Grey and Eclectus Parrot to enjoy together full time in their at home office. It had to be 60” x 30” and have room for a swing in the middle. We love building BIG custom trees!!!!!!

Well, old Mr. Murphy paid us a visit this weekend. We have an 8’ shelf that extends over our work benches that collapsed and took out pretty much everything yesterday. So, we spent the day cleaning the mess, repairing drywall, and replacing the shelf. This morning we got up to start building and the garage door opener was dead. So, we have spent all day replacing it.

We do most all of our production Friday through Sunday, so needless to say, it is “catch up” day tomorrow. But that is ok, we think Mr. Murphy is feeling our right hook and has hopefully taken the hint!!!!

First harvest of the year and got the opportunity to use the new trailer. We got a late start and ran out of time but we are pretty happy with it and how much more convenient harvesting is when using it. It ALWAYS pays to do the right thing. The USFS stopped by while we were harvesting. We had an awesome conversation about manzanita and what impact it has on the Arizona forests. We were also amazed at the number of unpermitted harvesting is taking place out there. The coolest part is that we will have Finch Branches again!!! All in all, it was a good day here at KLR Bird Designs.

New Product

A couple of weeks ago we said we would have some new products this year and here is one of them. It is the “Stow and Play” Rolling Bird Tree.

Loaded Up

The KLR Bird Designs trailer is all loaded up, product secured, and ready for delivery!

Getting the KLR Bird Designs trailer set up for product delivery. Still have some additional adjustments to do and some shelves to build into the V-Nose, but it is coming along. This is a portion of what will be delivered to Birdz and Beyond on Friday afternoon.
